I went in rather blind and damn it resonated with me on so many levels, I didn't expect that. I think that might be one of my favourite take on a revival so far. Basically I kinda expected more of a Doremi movie, so kind of a high budget filler adventure. And I got a movie on... Doremi fans. In this case young adult struggling with life and brought together thx to a common interest.

The movie isn't flawless, but it's great on its own merits. It has rather solid and believable adult characters/hardships and doesn't go full otaku apology à la Wotakoi either. In term of production value it's alright, it's slice of lifish anyway, but when it's needed it's animated properly and pretty. There's actually a bit of scenery prn, with lots of touristic spots shown. Welp that kind of things is more and more common these days, and imo it's enjoyable.

Anyway, loved it (gave it a 8). It touched a good variety of subjects and even managed to include a bit of magic. I have to say the last 10 minutes were harder to swallow, a bit too happy and unironically Doremi-ish for my taste (yeah I know, it was supposed to be like that x)). But it was still 1h20 I devoured easily, and I think it's actually good it ended up on such a warm note.

Long story short, I recommend it. While prior knowledge of the Doremi universe isn't mandatory (it's really accessible for everyone), ngl, it probably makes the show better to have some base knowledge/memories of the show. Like if you watched one or two episodes when you were a kid that's more than enough. And for hardcore Doremi fans... RIP kinda, since it's probably not what you expected. But it's still a very good movie that's full of tenderness for the fans of the series. So don't be too disappointed and give it a shot, it deserves it.

I watched it. Episode 1 was properly animated. Episode 2 was already meh and way lower effort.
Kinda surprised by the roto used for the scenes in his previous life. It's an interesting take.
I used to read the manga, it's kind of a decent idea to not try to adapt it in order. But welp, kinda hard to recommend it's just another isekai with an OP MC. If anything slimes are cute and funny, that's kinda all there is to it.

I'm rewatching the first episode of MiA s2 ep1 for curiosity sake of mtbb subs

no drastic changes but the subtitles flow just a little bit better so it's just a very small notice for a keen eye to consider

but goddamn the soundtrack I really really like it

especially the beginning and with Belaf on screen
the latter made me think "damn this rivals a portion of genshin's soundtrack"

don't wanna nerd out on the music too much but I'll just say once again this is def anime of the season for me rn even if it has its sus moments, everything else makes up for it

I've watched the beginning. Like around 5 episodes. I think it's alright but I personally didn't like it. Not particularly into the visuals, comedy, slow pace or obvious fujo vibes. There's potential tho, it's basically dealing with the worries of college students, which can be relatable. It's also interesting (on paper only sadly) to have various profiles trying to get back in shape but I didn't feel it was too believable. Like the tyrant MC comedy got old fast, and one person trying to push a bunch of others to do stuff they hate with that kind of pressure would result in them getting fully ignored or stabbed, not listened to like if it was the most natural thing.

Also definitely didn't like Kageyama-like (Haikyuu) other MC either. Very tired of that kind of profile in sport anime. Eventually the cast would have maybe grow on me, and I'm sure it's super wholesome to see them reach their goal after so much efforts and hardship... But yeah, no. Not for me. For me there's just more enjoyable shows dealing with sport or young adults' insecurities (Honey & Clover ftw)

Ping Pong would definitely be something I'd recommend over it too. + It's short.

It was p good

But I didn't really like the endgame scenario in EP 5

It felt a lot less grounded than everything that came before, so instead of it being a climb of more supernatural-ness being introduced, it felt like it was all dropped at once. It felt out of place

Hopefully the future episodes can compensate for that though
