Demon Girl Next Door to me feels like Abridged humor/humor pacing with a normal anime cast. It's a nice comfort watch imo (and this season has a pretty good amount of character development too)

Aharen san is a bit "random" in its humor, but a decent enough filler show.

Executioner drags in its slow bits and suffers from a director that isn't confident enough to let the show sell itself, but when it does its stuff well, it's pretty good (I love its worldbuilding)

Tomodachi game anime isn't really that great tbh compared to the manga

Fans suspect its because the director either doesn't like the ship, or doesn't really want to do anything character-wise with the show and instead only focus on the comedy side

Examples of some of what was cut from the movie: ||Megumin confessesing, Megumin holding Kazuma's hand for the first time, some flashbacks at what made Kazuma became a NEET in his original life and how it affects his relationship with the girls in his party||

Finished Spy x Family
A brilliant anime that, much like the nature of its characters, doubles as two shows seamlessly mixed into one. One half is geniously humorous with comedy feeling natural as a result of the characters and their interactions with the world/each other. It doesn't rely on forced tropes that are all too common in Japanese media, every episode managed to make me laugh in some way, it is one of the funniest anime's I've ever seen even though I didn't die laughing. The other half is serious and sentimental, but the show never takes itself too seriously which is a blessing. The family dynamic of this fake family is so incredible that it manages to feel like the characters are a real family, with Anya's presence heavily affecting the development of both the lead characters, much like a real child would affect their mother and father. It was such a joy to watch every episode, none of them were bad or useless besides one filler-ish episode in the middle which can be excused. I never skipped the funky, upbeat, professionally directed OP or the sweet, chill, adorable ED which is a testament to how good these tracks are as I don't do that very often with anime's. Anya is without a doubt one of the best "daughter" type characters in anime and a huge highlight in Spy x Family, despite me saying that, I think all the lead characters are fantastic and are never forgotten in this show. They're all so enjoyable in their own ways. I look forward very much to the continuation of this anime, and what it will do with its excellent characters. Anime of the season and year for sure, I don't see anything else coming along to dethrone it.

So I watched the first three episode of RWBY: Ice Queendom and I like it as a RWBY fan but the pacing is so shit. If this was your first introduction to RWBY I think it would very heavily turn you off of the series. It's very dependent on you having watched the original show to understand a lot of what's going on. Also over the course of 1 hour the animation goes all over the place. It has some pretty good animation in the really important scenes but it feels like everything else had to suffer for that, especially some of the fodder fights. The show frequently has problems placing Grimm and other beings properly on the ground which ruins immersion. The character designs are also questionable but I think they'll grow on me. The plot struggles a lot from the aforementioned pacing issues. The show is doing a lot to try and change some of the shaky plot from the original but is sacrificing its own plot stability to accomplish this. I do really like some of the new plot beats and I think most of the characters are done well but it feels like this should've been stretched to 5-6 episodes instead of trying to cram it into 3. I get that they're trying to make a new show out of this but it's skipping over a lot of fundamental plot building and assuming you've seen the source material to fill in the blanks. My biggest problem is probably that most scene transitions are straight cuts with no warning or buildup. This is the major killer of the pacing and by far its biggest fault as its constantly throwing you around in a very jarring way. The character interactions are good and follow generally the same flow as they did in the original just much faster due to the aforementioned pacing issues (man it really all comes back to that). Overall I enjoyed it because I like RWBY but for people who aren't fans of RWBY and were thinking of giving this a try, I would honestly wait and see if the pacing gets better before giving it a go.

gatchaman s2 has an interesting take on politics but god damn is it ruined by a bigger clusterfuck of a plot and the worst new characters possible

imagine your series starts with a fidget spinner crash landing in a field and an alien coming out of it who ends up running for prime minister

i think samurai flamenco was more coherent lmao

plus the main cast from s1 have almost no purpose being there

biggest appeal as to why I prefer AL over MAL are the options to alter rating systems and provides an option to add comments/write-ups for an installment

if you want to interact with a bigger community go with MAL but AL is more suited for my personal preferences as to how I wanna pad my stats and taste

Damn, I got flashbacks from another era. I remember I ended liking S2 near the end. And Make my Day was a cool Insert Song, but I barely remember the show (I have better memories of S1)

Definitely not a fan of the 2 new additions. But at the time I was simping hard for Kana Hanazawa, so I was still happy

Overall still found the show (s1 and s2) quite interesting, even if clumsy at times. And the music was fire. Especially in s1

It's cool to see peopoe trying that show tho. I absolutely don't know if it felt ok for original Gachaman fans tho, definitely feels very different

Recently there was Muteking the Dancing Hero that made me think about Samurai Flamenco and Gatchaman Crowds

In term of mood it reminds me a bit the Kokoro arc of Aoi Bungaku Series, or Shouwa Gebroku Rakugo. Feels like reading a japanese novel kinda. A Murakami for instance. (Welp it's just a feeling, an ambience, it's not really similar)

I'm impressed. I like discovering new bits of Japanese culture and a concept. I just wish what was told related more to the scenario (which happens maybe twice). As for the storytelling itself, I don't mind hearing Akira Ishida for hours, but yeah, I had trouble with it
