Second half Rudy still had perverted thoughts, yes, but after Turning Point 1, he didn't act on any of them. Even the bit at the end ||with Eris was 100% Eris pressuring him into it. He said "no" several times because he realized she was doing it out of desperation. That's a pretty damn big growth compared to forcing himself on her without considering her feelings at all in the first half of S1...||
(which, as required in most Mushoku Tensei discussions, I'll add is not me trying to say he's some pure and noble paragon either. But it's pretty notable character growth from where he started)

It felt like they had animators that, given a few more years of practice + more time, could put out some good stuff, but it came out a bit sloppy in the anime itself
