Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative movie takes place inbetween them and is directly tied to Unicorn so I would recommend watching that

i haven’t watched any one piece anime and i feel like im missing a lot in the whole anime universe

Hathway's is heavily rooted in old UC stuff like the OG Gundam series and specifically Chars Counter Attack. Hathaway is introduced in CCA and without knowing what happens there alot of it was probably confusing. If you're interest is learning more about the UC timeline you can read synopses online or netflix also has the 3 OG gundam compilation movies and CCA. Currently nobody has Zeta or ZZ to legally stream but they're (imo) minimally important to the plot of CCA. If you were looking for something more directly related to Unicorn I would recommend watching the Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative movie because that takes place in UC. 0097 which is a year after Unicorn and directly references the events of it. Also it's going to be a trilogy as of right now but that said the 2nd (which as of right now is titled 'Son of Bright') might be a ways off because it takes place mostly in Australia and they can't go there right now for scenery inspiration.

This is pretty good reference for the timelines and watch order of all the Gundam series. I will note that there is contention over where Reconguista in G fits into the timeline because the creator (Tomino who also created the OG Gundam) says it's after Turn A (which was supposed to be the end of all Gundam Universes to that point that why all those lines converge there) and Sunrise/Bandai who say that it's before.

I will also note that this is a bit old so it doesn't include Narrative which like I said earlier fits in right after Unicorn

"Back of the book" plot (What the MAL page would tell you): Dude has an idol he loves, gets stabbed and isekais into idol's baby alongside another isekai (both the twins are isekai-ers). Tragedy happens, and dude and the other twin end up having to follow in his idol's footsteps, while figuring out the truth behind the tragedy.

"Actual" plot (what the series focuses on/actually shows): A child actor with an adult brain being exposed firsthand to all the good, the bad, and the ugly of the Japanese media industry (TV, idol culture, theatre, etc), all while struggling with PTSD over the tragedy and his detective efforts to find out who in the industry was behind the tragedy. A really fascinating and in-depth and interesting look at the behind-the-scenes of the lives of actors.

Akasaka's writing is subliminal notch, as Oshi no Ko traverse into numerous departments of the story while sailing in a solid manner. Delving into the entertainment showbiz, the manga commentates multiple details of the industry in precise flow to justify the direction it takes from chapter to chapter. A lot of these topics dives into darker territory, the shady side of the "behind the scenes" within the media. We also witness a decency of the emotional facets within the characters as well, depicting their individualities in multiple moods and scenarios at a smooth manner. Adding on, also having seen Kuzu no Honkai, Yokoyari's art is a refreshing sight to see. Her brooding yet HOT portraiture of the characters and their nature fits entirely well into the story. The manga is still on-going, but as of now it's superbly consistent.

So I started solo leveling a couple days ago not knowing it had already finished and then proceeded to binge all 179 chapters in under 5 days

I'm conflicted on the ending

It wraps the story up fine but I can't help but feel it was a tad bit rushed in the end.

Has anyone else finished it and have opinions on the ending?

Like I get that the whole ||Monarch war|| arc is supposed to be the final arc but when you ||Kill 3 of the monarchs and the MCs dad|| within like 7 chapters and then having the final battle and ending the arc only to have the MC ||reset the world 10 years and then go and kill all the monarch again but off screen in 2 chapters||

Like I get the whole series by definition is supposed to have absurd power scaling but I feel like they took it a little too far in the end.

I think my biggest problem with Solo leveling is something with the basic design of it's world where only the MC can get stronger and everyone else is static. This creates a cycle where characters are introduced and the MC is at their power level for like 10 chapters and then they're abandoned. I think the reason this sticks out to me so much is because I'm spoiled by MT because that story handles all of it's auxiliary characters brilliantly. Every character, even the ones who stay static feel like they still have some sort of relevance to the world where in SL they just literally don't matter

I'm also a little bitter because I really liked Esil and then the MC ||Just nopes out and she's only mentioned once again in a passing thought||
