For a lot of people Gundam Wing was their first introduction to Gundam and they tell all their friends to watch that one first but it honestly aged poorly. If you want to start I would recommend Gundam 00 (my first) or IBO. Though if your already into building them the Build Divers or Build Fighters series might be to your tastes

Dororo (2019) is probably the closest I can think of story-wise. Boy is born with no limbs, no eyes, no ears as a result of a curse by 12 demons, but is rescued after being abandoned. Now, having been given prosethetics, he must begin a journey to hunt down the demons, recliming the parts of him they stole.

Jujutsu Kaisen has a similar emphasis on the supernatural and well animated battles, but is a more modern story compared to Demon Slayer's historical angle.

Havent watched it myself, but Shamen King supposedly is a shonen focused on the supernatural. Could be worth a shot 🤷‍♂️

Okay, it's an isekai technically, but not in any way I've ever seen before.
Premise is essentially isekai folks bring some primordial concept with them as their 'power' (Time, Life, White, Red, etc). But over time, this power washes away their souls and they become "Human Errors", eldritch-esque horrors with no sanity beyond their concept.
MC is an inhabitant of the world people get isekaid over to and is part of an elite group that hunts down and executes isekai people (an "Executioner").

Cept the dualtagonist is a girl who came over with the concept of Time... a concept that activates and reverts time every time she's killed. So the MCs looking for a way to kill her 👀

I love the series, just concerned its JC Staff adapting it...

Season 4 and 5 have a handful of hype moments, but you largely are watching them so you can get to the upcoming Season 6, when shit goes down

I havent been hyped about MHA since Season 2's tournament arc, but as a manga reader, S6 should be pretty insane

the anime missed something from the manga

as an artist, i pay attention closely to how the mangaka represent the characters emotion through each panel

what hit us with blue period from the manga is the composition and the way the shadow goes

as well as character emotions

the anime just missed that

the composition

taking from ep1, that crossdress boy i forgot his name, when he is angry with the way mc talks abt art cannot find money, there is a unique pose as well as the way the shadow cast, the panel zoom towards him to showcase the pose, the anime zoom out instead

there goes part of the character emotion

the pose is what makes that panel so emotional and then the anime decided to not focus that

blue period character pose hit really nicely

it express the character emotions and the anime does not have that, or rather does not focus on that

manga that has few words like blue period or houseki no kuni choose art to express the character emotions. not focus on that is a very bad idea.
