Isekai genre. 24 episodes season 1, there is season 2 as well. It's a must watch really, there is no anime like this, it's got amazing writing, characters, and character development. Animation is really good too. It's just perfect.

The only drawback is you would not enjoy other isekai animes as much, cos it's just that good.

Dark psychological fantasy isekai. 24 episodes each season (season 2 being split into two 12 ep cours) and one movie (not needed for the main plot, but good context for S2)

It's a unique take on the genre. The dude is legit powerless (not "discover some ancient power halfway through S1". He's legit powerless), but through the gimmick of "death savepoints" he has no control over, has to find ways to overcome really awful situations to save himself and the ones he loves.

Worldbuilding doesnt neccesarily mean places and conflicts. Re:Zero kinda puts those off to the side outside of a few episodes.
In this case, I was referring to the "realism" of the world (the way people interact and relate to the world around them). The way people interact, the various groups and the way they tie into the story is done in a really well-thought out and interconnected way. Nothing feels "slapped into" the world or out of place (like the "adventurers guild bar" in every generic rpg fantasy anime)

Its the little connections that make good worldbuilding.

• Wolf Children (amazing take on motherhood and nice cinematography through a couple of scenes, it’s his most lively film)
• Mirai (pretty kid friendly film and fun throughout; the kid is pretty annoying but aside from that it’s a nice journey throughout the family history)

If I were to rate them in order I’d say
