Today's topic is White Album 2
So this anime has some things going for it and some things that I'm not a fan of
I'm six episodes in so things are subject to change
The biggest gripe I have is that these characters feel like tropes
The characters do not feel original or make something of themselves
Granted it's only been six episodes, I feel like it's not likely that we will see a core change in characterization
My other gripe with the series is the pacing
Or I guess lore/background
I think I need to see the remaining episodes to really judge that, but there were times during the first six episodes where the pacing felt off or the character development felt rushed
The series is enjoyable for the most part and I'm expecting the last seven episodes to really make or break it with me
Keep watching
Character tropes isn’t the main appeal
The glamour lies within the atmosphere and screenplay of the interactivity between the trio. It’s not Setsuna/Kazusa being unique to the medium, it’s the romance appeal embedded through the watch as you keep going!
If it’s just personally disliking the characters for being “tropey”, then understandable, I can’t change your view on that LOL
As for the pacing
...
Keep watching
(Although for 6 episodes it was perfectly smooth development imo, the trio got their screen-time and developed their mutualities without trouble
)
Glad you’re enjoying it for the most part nonetheless. Looking forward to you finishing it!
We're soo close
They all look great
Damn, Crunchyroll just dropped a ton of new trailers today/yesterday.
Saihate no Paladin, Skeleton Knight in Another World, World's End Harem, and In The Land of Leadale all look great
someday perhaps...

Leadale doesnt look half bad though. I've been enjoying the light novel
(tho tbh, Saihate no Paladin is the one I'm most hyped for)
Gonna try to look into those
3 isekais and 1 ecchi lol. Have fun
I guess I'll just wait and see what you guys have to say about those when they're out, it's hard for me to start watching a new isekai unless I already know it's great
I mean, Slime's tone seems about the same as it tbh. A bit of comedy, but with some heavier stuff mixed in that reminded me a bit of Overlord's darker tones at times (not at the same level as Overlord's tho)
Basically, he's got Ainz's emotion suppression bit, but without the minions to urge him to genocide with his suppressed emotions.
Simplest way to describe the anime (to me at least) is "Overlord, but Ainz comes by himself and does his best to integrate into the new world in spite of being a skeleton"
Yes there’s gonna be another thing for Konosuba
@shadow knot episode 7…. Is something else. I guess this is where all the “fun” is at.
The music is mostly forgettable to me. It’s not like Nana’s music that’s catchy.
This love triangle drama that’s about to go down is what I meant last night that it can either break and make a series depending on how they approach it.
I’m guessing it’s one of your favorite anime of all time with how the love drama plays out, but I personally at this point don’t really have an attachment to the characters lol
Yeah that’s thrown out the window for ya
Hearing this saddens me, because the whole soundtrack inspired me to pick up guitar again. It’s fucking amazing to me
🍿

which is better for a beginner? darling in the franxx or the anime yumeko is in?
DITF because Kakegurui could be too weird for a beginner
Darling in the Franxx seems to get a lot of hate
ditf is bootleg eva and also weird but not as weird as the latter
I like Studio Trigger overall
I skipped it because at the time it aired I hated anime
But I’ll need to finish San Gatsu first
I can’t keep ignoring it
I still like Trigger even if they keep stealing character designs
I liked their work on Gridman and Little Witch Academia. Outside of that, havent really watched any of their stuff
Wait lemme correct
not “stealing”
more like “being lazy”
(Well, seen Supernatural Battles too, but that one has like, 2 good scenes and goes nowhere with the shleries)
Yeah that Supernatural had that one good acting scene we talked about
That’s all it has kekw
They really cpasted Lio from Promare into their upcoming Star Wars animation
This one's an ok art between ttgl (Gainax) and promare too (Trigger)
Kill La Kill's Jakuzure (Trigger) vs FLCL's Haruko (Gainax)
They also share the same VA too
Oof. Still need to watch Kill La Kill
Kill La Kill’s great 👍
It’s up there for me but I saved ttgl to be one of my “omg number 1 anime everrrr”
Ah, another one I havent watched yet lol
Way too much of a KyoAni simp. All my "top anime" seem to come from them lol
Dunno if you've been watching Remake Our Life! this season, but they made a pretty big Haruhi reference this week 👀
Yeaaa they had Nanako sing Freckles in karaoke, then God Knows in the actual performance
How? 😅 It's not exactly subtle...

I haven’t watched Suzumiya but I watched Rurouni Kenshin so I was surprised with the first song we hear her sing kekw
Yeah that song wasn't iconic to me
But I went to YouTube the original and remember the scene
how tf was that not iconic lol
that and the "eight days" thing are pretty much the most iconic things to come from that anime
Yeah again I haven't watched but I know
- God Knows
- Super Driver
- Endless Eight episodes
I mean I don't follow the Haurhi Fandom like that. When I saw that scene it was just that. I didn't fall in love with the song.
Wtf Hikaru Utada does Fumetsu's OP
Now that I know it's so obvious lol
You haven't watched that??😱 😱
nope
havent had a life for the last 8ish months. Will probably watch it this week now that im a free man again lol
Recommending Aho girl
okay... just started it...
jesus christ
that might be the best cold opening I've ever seen
Right??
The whole military academy presence is so menacing in the beginning
Gamagōri’s introduction
Oo ill try
well, the military folk came off as more goofy than menacing in the opening 😅
I just meant more the sheer animation and editing quality of it. Felt like a movie opening with the wide shots and the fancy credits
Later in the episode, the menacing bit is def there tho 👀
Righttt I think that was the correct perception I should’ve known LMAO
A blend of zany and imperil I should say
It's kind of reminding me of Bakemonogatari so far
Not in the tone or anything like that neccesarily
just in the amount of presence the editor's style has on the animation
Random comment: Just found out that one of the main animators for the "Owl House" cartoon is one of the main animators from Castlevania 2 (Spencer Wan) 👀 Explains the quality of the fights I suppose
Wait
Seiryu Ubiquitous (Akame ga kill)
Kushida Kikyou (Classroom of the Elite)
Why do the good animes only have 1 season ffs
And its on a cliffhanger too
Classroom of the elite s2 when
i dont read manga/ lns ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sadly, its because for the most part (tho I feel like this is slowly changing), 99% of anime existed solely to advertise manga/ln's. So in that view, there's nothing wrong with making one season and stopping, because in their eyes, you were always meant to finish it in the LN/manga to begin with.
outside of the biggest shows, it was pretty rare to get an S2 at all 👀 Nowadays, a ton of stuff is getting sequel seasons though
demon slayer only 26 ep? no season 2?
Season 2 is coming sometime this year, though an exact date hasn't been given yet
Is fruits basket worth watching?
I've heard good things about it
I mean, long episode counts isn't usually an indicator of bad quality when it comes to anime lol
meanwhile fairy tail:
(atleast from rumours which i've heard)
Hence the usually lol
The rule doesnt really apply after the 7th or 8th season 😂
No...
Ryuko Matoi...
is jujutsu kaisen good? i'm still at ep1 when is it gonna get interesting?
is nana worth reading ?
Im currently watching ,,The rising of a shield hero" and christ, i haven't hated anyone so much like this one red lady (Malte) for pretty long time
I’d say so!
It’s one of the more realistic kinds out there
As for reading it opposed to watching it, it’s on an indefinite hiatus so it’s never gonna finish
Man, just finished Tamako Love Story (the Tamako Market movie)...
I liked it. But god... fuck Midori.
She somehow found a way to be worse than the bird
Lool
"What's your role in the plot?"
"Oh, I try to keep the love interest from being confessed to, and try to make the MC feel like a stalker for wanting to continue being friends with her (and just a bother for wanting to ask her out). And I will lie, misdirect and go far out of my way to do so."
"O....kay then. But why?"
"For the lolz"
There will be another season
The next message right after that was me saying there's going to be a Season 2 this year lol
theres also the movie
Hmmm...the Season 1 is actually pretty funny and light hearted tho- you should watch that series and also the fact that there is gonna be a movie of JJK in January 2022 , and according to the manga that movie will be OP AND the shibuya arc in Season 2 along with Gojo's past(i hope so) will be there so you should DEFINETLY watch JJK
Hehe
The unlimited budget of Ufotable does works tho- lol
^this.
And as far as the "when is it gonna get interesting", you said you're on Episode 1...
Honestly, I feel like if you aint into it by the 3rd or so episode, it probably aint for you. JJK doesnt take much time getting its main story going.
Wouldnt know it, never been able to finish a Fate series without dropping em lol
Berserk should have been animated by Ufotable instead of The Fate Series imo...
The fights are nice, but it feels like God of High School. S-tier fights with only the most barebones of story to link them together 😅
God Of Highschool is a web comic/novel tho so....Crunchyroll did actually mess it up
True. Tho honestly, it should have been literally any other company besides Millipease
Terrible studio
Mhm...Studio Deen isn't worth it AT ALL... The same goes for the Junji Ito Series and The Seven Deadly Sins
Those three mangas weren't given justice
Millepensee*, not Millipease. My b lol
ah yeah...it happens
Literally every show they've touched has suffered from god awful animation
Hmm....I don't know what is the plot of the fate series....looks kinda bland and is really very long tho- I would rather complete the Monogatari series
. . .
At least from what I've seen of Stay night and UBW before dropping both...
Basically one long FFA tournament arc.
Hence the God of High School comparison lol
Yeah...I think so too....
Monogatari is its own thing. Cant really compare it to much
@topaz linden You should try watching Touken Ranbu tho- it is from Ufotable but rather short and interesting anime
Ikr! Monogatari is already really popular in Japan..either way the west community may proabably make it look like a really bad anime tho
Hm, ill add it to the list. Not particularly a fan of Ufotable's story directing tho (no offense to their S tier animation team)
Mhm I see! i hate how Demon Slayer and The Fate Series are the most popular animes of Ufotable rather than the fact having a bit bland story ...yet the animation is OP
It's in the top 20 anime on MAL 🤷🏻♂️ think its pretty popular in the west too
Though they had to localize a lot for the jokes lol
Oh...Yeah
Mhm I agree
Personal favorite being the "a cat will do" reference
The original was a somewhat obscure Japanese pun about laziness and cats paws
Wait really?
The original Japanese idiom more or less translates to "I'd even use a cats hands". Basically meaning that "I'm so busy, even the littlest of help will do"
Monogatari EN sub went with a cultured reference instead
OH MY GAH...That is awesome tho
Its a pretty good localization, ngl
Keeps the intent while making it a reference westerners will understand. And keeps the cat pun as well
https://youtu.be/on6v8hpjDr0
Their adaption of the cat tongue twister is also great 😂
Bakemonogatari Ep 14 - 12:50
Can mew imyagine an imyaginyary mewnyagerie mewnyager imyagining mewnyaging an imyaginyary mewnyagerie?
Can you imagine an imaginary menagerie manager imagining managing an imaginary menagerie?
Are there any people who would rate other people's anime lists? (talking about MAL)
Uhh, I can give you some hot takes on your opinion
I've seen like 720 plus anime so I think I can give a wide breadth of opinion
Assuming you have a MAL
I can give some insight on your score spread if you want.
I could delve into your tastes too if something strikes the eye but I probably won’t
Just gimme like an hour cuz I’m out rn
Sure
gonna drop link here then anyways so you could check this later or smth
https://myanimelist.net/profile/AllForAll
We have similar taste for the most part.
I dont have any issue with your scoring. Only thing I can say is you seem to like the same stuff I do (your 9s and 10s) so maybe you'll like stuff I like that you haven't seen
Surprised you rated the 2nd half of ReZero S2 higher than the first. I personally found that half to be a downgrade after the emotional release of ||the trials in the first half||
I rated Re Zero season 2 higher than season 1
Season 1 made me rage a lot
It made me not even wanna continue Re Zero, but I was convinced to give it a try
Well tbh
I added it to the list around month ago since i forgot to add this at the beginning and pretty much rushed score for it without remembering much (i watched that when it was airing before i even had MAL account)
I might consider giving 1st half of ReZero S2 9 instead of 8 and lowering down score of 2nd half of ReZero S2 then
The only thing which annoyed me was pretty much forced (imo) Ram x Roswaal relationship tbh
S1 had the better action/story, S2 had the better character acting imo.
S2 suffered a lot from lacking animation 😅 Which it mostly got away with because it was a less actiony arc, but it still bugged me compared to the stuff showcased in S1
The character acting was def the weaker part of S1 imo (for the MCs at least)
Ah, gotcha. And here I thought you were just an Emilia simp who scored that half higher cause she showed up more in it lol
I really didn't like season 1 of Re Zero
Season 2 was better for me simply because I stopped hating Subaru so much
I still dislike him, but he's tolerable
Totally understandable lol
I liked S1 in spite of Subaru
They managed to make him much more tolerable by S2 (tho he still annoys me a bit)
You can tell in S2 that their best animation talent was busy with Mushoku Tensei tho lol
Is Monogatari series worth it?
I saw that its pretty much as extensive as fate series, which took me around 3 weeks to finish (except last encore since i saw that it got 6.28 score on MAL)
Haven't checked your list but just from that question I'd say so!
Just gimme like 10 more mins
What does worth it mean?
I mean someone is gonna shill everything
And it may or may not be something you'll end up liking
That said, it's a dialogue heavy series and the text can move quick
It's not essential, but it's worthwhile
What's essential is Cowboy Bebop @elder sorrel
I'm gonna give it a try someday
Also thanks for reminding me about this one anime's existance, since i forgot to add it to the list of planned animes
I'd even put Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood before Monogatari
Now when we get to say Attack on Titan or Tokyo Revengers I'd say thats when you can prioritize Monogatari
The easiest anime I always throw out is Baccano
It's the answer to everything
I see a lot of typical picks. Your taste usually resides on the safe titles, which is alright because most of the highly acclaimed titles excels in what they pull off to reel in their fans.
As a JJBA fan I'm surprised you have Stardust Crusaders as your favourite part
Your lowest scores are safe takes too, ie. Satsuriku no Tenshi and Uzaki-chan.
Yeahhh nothing stands out too much overall. It's alright for someone having watched 100 entries
Sidenote: Your scores are definitely inflated
not to worry a lot of people including myself awhile back are victim to this. Don't worry about it too much right now! When you watch more you'll have more options to adjust your score spread more accordingly
Recommendations: From your ptw watch Gurren Lagann and Zankyou no Terror
Outside of your ptw watch Penguindrum and Maquia
Thank you very much
Yeah, ik that A LOT of mine scores are inflated for sure, but for now i haven't watched that much craps to actually appreciate or dissapreciate the shows which i had watched
I'm gonna do as you said and aim for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann right after i'll finish The rising of the shield hero
Poggers
Yeah definitely check out Gurren Lagann it’s like my number 1 favourite anime!
Guys what's the name of this anime
Fruits Basket
THANK YOU
But man
There's a lot about fruit basket tho
Is there a specific watch order?

Sony now owns crunchyroll and funimation
https://www.engadget.com/sony-completes-crunchyroll-acquisition-220920170.html
Katsu & Ketsu users rn:
Yes
Well it was approved a few months ago so it makes sense
Some folks really hate Cruncyroll subs
Especially the whole Nagatoro thing
It wasn't
They were negotiating months ago
Now it got finalized
And Sony now owns crunchyroll
I just hope that they continue some of their originals
Like tower of god
No lol
Crunchyroll can't buy funimation when funimation is owned by Sony
That's like trying to buy the white house
No matter how much money u got, you won't be able to buy it
I thought they were merging though
Meh. Let's wait a year and see what happens
But either way I miss fan subs
Sony would probably merge them

fruits basket...though it seems not that interesting to me I would kinda recommend it if you like Rom-com animes
I actually saw this...and that neko is really very cute tho-
Mmk, I don't normally go out of my way to make LN recommendations, but man, this one was really unique.
The Executioner and Her Way of Life's the name 👀
Pretty damn good
And so Sony absorbs another site into their anime empire
Berserk is getting a new chapter!!!
It's going to be the last chapter the creator illustrated before he passed away.
Berserk is finally coming back after it's hiatus.
I know a lot of people say he sounds like Dio, but he always sounds juuuust on the edge of slipping into his Roswaal voice to me lol
If we delve into the acting
Takehito Koyasu’s tone is there
But obviously not forwardly powerful as his acting for Dio. Definitely more on the Roswaal side or even Zeke’s
I’m just basing my findings off this clip tho LMAO https://youtu.be/GuzQ9A0yydc
another side of clayman
the slime diaries: that time i got reincarnated as a slime - episode 6
pretty accurate for the voice (tho what he's doing seems a bit different than usual lol)

Unrelated, but I've been binging through The Legend of Luoxiaohei...
Shit's pretty good man. Which was surprising to me since it's a Chinese animation 👀
Closest thing I could describe it with is a Ghibli plotline with Nichijou's style comedy and dramatic spikes in animation quality.
LOL nice
Good taste, you have

LETS FUCKING GO

Let's goooooo
Anyone watched Vanitas No Carte/The Case of Vanitas or reading the manga?
Domestic girlfriend is the definition of uncomfortable
the plot is nice but i have to watch my back everytime i watch it
Domestic gf is the def of horny characters
lmao, same kid
Still has the stupidest ending of any manga ive read

It still pisses me off to this day 😅
The series was so close to almost redeeming itself into something worth reading
Then the author just went off the fucking deep end in the last seven chapters.
Watching the discord for that series break down over those seven weeks was quite an experience.
HOLY SHIT WTF
Its actually happening
Their general production quality was pretty good with Slime 👀 main thing id be concerned with is their pacing issues/tendency to overcut source material.
They’re just fine with the Grisaia series
They’re surprisingly not bad with Stars Align
But Blue Lock’s heavy action innit. I just hope they can do well
Tsuki ga kirei was a giant ad for LINE huh
But is it great tho? I’ve been meaning to watch it
Yea it's been on my mind for a while
I'll surely like it, the art and tranquil direction might be right up my alley
Blue Lock - Official Trailer (HD)
TV ANIME "BLUE LOCK" is slated for a 2022 release!
Synopsis
After reflecting on the current state of Japanese soccer, the Japanese Football Association decides to hire the enigmatic and eccentric coach Jinpachi Ego to achieve their dream of winning the World Cup. Believing that Japan has lacked an egoistic stri...
Looks solid
Looks dope
Top 5 strongest stands in your opinion?
(jojo)
Uhh
- GER
- Wonder of U
- MiH
- Tusk Act 4
- Star Platinum cuz why not
No wait, replace 5 with "Soft and Wet"
Golden Experience Requiem is the only entry I put that's already adapted into an anime and will always remain as the strongest stand no matter what
Soft and wet I see
And wonder of u
Most lists that I have seen go like
- GER
- MiH
- Tusk act4
- D4c
- The world over heaven/ King crimson / heaven's door
Nice to see a new list
Does this make part 5 boring? Because the mc is just so op
That's a last episode thing tho
Oh okay
Like with star platinum in stardust
Yeah when all of a sudden he got time stop
Lots of arguments/excuses can be made for it but honestly I'm fine with it
Hmm I heard part 5 is quite good
Idk why people liked part 4 so much
It's quite great
But not better than part 3 imo
Personally Part 4's my favourite yea LMAO
Part 3 can be a drag at times
Hmm
But the second cour was great
Yeah
I think it's just that in part 3 they kept traveling
And in part 4 they were in the same place throughout
So ig that's why I didn't like it
Mori Mori Mori loved this tho
It's really the same format every episode or 2 for Stardust Crusaders
But I can get that because it's introducing the whole point of Stands
Where it's all figuring out the opponent's stand abilities
For DiU I really loved the vibrant colors and wonderous vibes in Morioh
It's a tad better than Part 5 imo
Still great
I think Part 6's the same too but honestly Part 7 is the zenith of Araki's career
Part 8 is the pinnacle of bizarreness it's really testing the fans at that point
Np
3>4>2>5>1
Might be 7 > 4 > 2 > 6 > 5 > 3 > 8 > 1 for me,
8’s subject to change because I only read 11 chapters but I kinda know the story already
Depending on 6’s anime that’s also gonna change
This is exactly my rankings as well
Except I haven't read 8 yet
Haven't heard about that one on number 2 but that seems really OP if it's above MiH and tusk act 4
Yeah I'm telling you I ain't seen lots of fans who read Jojolion
Wonder of U is actually cracked
How y'all doing
Gud
Vanitas anyone
Yea are you guys currently watching or reading Vanitas No Carte
nah I don't really plan to
I already know about Wit
BUT KING GNU LETS FUCKING GO
It's interesting how there is a lot of anime out there that deal with time travel, but the anime that's most well known for it is Steins Gate
Even Steins Gate 0 and it's spin-offs and movies don't quite capture the masterpiece of the original series
Yet, the concept of time travel is still a concept that surely other anime out there can do well right?
For some odd reason, I just slept on an anime that dealt with time travel and I just didn't want to watch the anime I keep delaying in San Gatsu season 2.... so I picked one that I happened to somehow live under a rock on
Boku Dake Ga Inai or simply Erased which is how ill refer to it going forward
My anime rambles are fun in nature, but I typically watch obscure stuff so this one I feel will have enough folks able to follow my hot takes. I don't want to flood the chat so I'll keep it to my main opinions
- This anime is not Steins Gate. Time travel anime that aren't the original Steins Gate have horrible execution and it feels like a gimmick.
- This anime has nice visuals and animation for its time (A1 Pictures), it is perhaps the biggest thing going for it.
- The plot and story is a cluster. The plot is so 1 dimensional and predictable it makes you do a double take in questioning what the anime purpose is.
- I admit it, even though the story is a cluster and predictable, I still wanted to watch it because it had enough of a hook for me to want to know how it wraps up. And I was utterly disappointed with the ending. Had the ending not been such a disappointment, I would have called this a decent anime.
- This anime is jarring. It tries to put something together to touch your emotions and create a bond with characters... but its a mess. Everything feels so flat.
- If you haven't seen this anime, I still think it's worth experiencing for yourself because the genre and the themes are interesting. Just god awful execution and predictability make this a really complicated feeling for me.
Final Thoughts: I'm sure someone has a different opinion from me, but this was a really difficult anime for me to really know how to feel about. Like I somehow skipped the anime despite it appearing to be an anime that I would normally like, but it just made me disappointed because I feel like I got an empty box. I don't regret watching this, but this anime really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Enjoy the "hot takes"
🍿
First thought that comes to mind is Vivy 👀
Ok but for Erased I think everyone would agree with most of the points
Satoru's mom is one of the goated moms out there tho
The characterization and concepts are pretty neat
(Tho admittingly, thats more of the initial event than an active part of Vivy's plot)
(||outside of spoilers of course||)
Yeah I been picking anime lately that require me to have "hot takes" lately
Yee. Time travel without getting bogged down in trying to explain/make time travel make sense lol
The best kind
What's your definition of a "hot take" btw?
If Eva tomorrow somehow pisses me off. I'll abstain from doing so because that's too recent and I'd spoil crap.
I know it's out right now, but I gotta sleep
Stuff that tries to explain the mechanics of time travel or make it an active part of the plot seem to suffer a lot from making things too complicated
I only watched 14 minutes of it I ain't finna watch 2.5 hours rn
Eva is recent?
A raw opinion that doesn't sugar coat it to making others feel good
The new movie just came out
Ah got it that makes a lot of sense
But im sleeping I got a busy day tomorrow
Cuz I thought hot takes mean "controversial takes" lmao
Ah, gotcha. Didnt know new Eva stuff was still getting made lol
No, it's just my raw opinion at the moment I finish an anime
When something makes me wanna rant, I do it here
🍿
Cause my raw opinions are so off the grind from the user base here
🍿
Erased's manga fleshed out everything and fixed the ending but I'd say still on the decent to good category
Anime was pretty cool and it gets the job done aside from the predictable twist and rushed ending
It makes me feel empty inside
Like I got an Amazon package. I open it and it's just air.
Nothing inside
I remember some people hating it because "omg Kayo x Satoru didn't happen" like stfu are you really gonna wait 15 years???
Well, it's jarring
The whole anime just makes me scratch my head
It's like the plot had no idea what it wanted to do
The ending was a cluster regardless of shipping
If this is how folks feel about Your Name, I guess that's how I feel about Erased
A1 Pictures did its job
But it felt like a trap
lol
I just didn't like the anime ending
And I get it, someone out there loves Erased
Everything else was fine
ik a lot including myself who felt Kayo's tears when Satoru's mom gave her food
it was so touching
Until you realize it means nothing in the end
Again, didn't like the anime ending
I won't say it's jump the shark, but it was clear to me what the story was trying to do from almost episode 1 or 2
I was like ||This is Persona 4||
heh
I mean you already know what you're getting into from the end of the first episode
Just a simple time travel mystery but how it unravels makes it fun to watch
Wait what did you even give it
I guess we can agree to disagree
I'm torn with the anime
But to me. This is Aldnoah Zero bad so it got the same score. 4/10.
Something below a 5 is rare
I dont like watching anime like that anymore
So I went in with good faith
Aw man, Aldnoah Zero aint good? Loved the soundtrack from it, was meaning to check it out 👀
Kanojo mo Kanojo will be less than a 5
Aldnoah looks solid
But otherwise I try to avoid bad anime
I'd say give it a try Jake
Yeah, that's what I mean by hot takes
Understandable. Still gonna watch all of it tho. I find it good "turn your brain off" dumb shit to watch over lunch/dinner lol
I've got very different opinions from everyone here in this channel
I do say this hits harder than Shinkai's whole filmography
It's raw opinions without regarding someone else's opinion
There's a reason I couldn't provide a ramble on White Album 2 after all
🍿
Well I did, but I didn't give the final thoughts after finishing
These are what my friends think of Aldnoah lmao
Yeah Aldnoah is something else
It makes me angry
Very angry
Erased is just sadness
Like my rambles are in good fun
I dont intend to hurt anyone
They're just popcorn
Yeah it's fine like imo it's personally appreciation for the whole drama structure and directing because just the little things makes me smile and shit, also having played the visual novel back then it's fucking gorgeous
If you like what I hate that's perfectly fine with me
But I do say no other love triangles hit it off like WA2/Oregairu does
I just like having my raw opinions written somewhere right as I finish them
Wait have you even checked out Oregairu
Maybe do give it a try as it's more grounded in the setting
It may be dialogue heavy tho so that might be your make or break
Imagine telling someone to watch Oreimo
And i did watch SNAFU
What did you think
I seen too much anime
For some dumb reason the anike is inconsistent
Maybe because of the studio changes
Like Date A Live
Can't keep 1 studio
Season 1 had a charm to it style wise
And then they went with a worse art direction
I think 3 studios coveted it cause the third season looked different from season 2
Even if they completely shifted away from the character models looking more similarly to the LN designs
Personally I was more enticed with .feel's
Well. Maybe just 2 studios
S2 and S3 is all .feel
But either way. The series is super inconsistent
S1's Brain's Base and the whole setting kinda puts me at sleep
S1 had an artistic charm to it
Eh it kept reminding me of DRRR/Baccano
And those were a chore to watch
As much as I wanted to appreciate the format it delivers it was pretty hard
S1 reminds me of that anime I watched before white album
Saekano
Will probably still check it out then. Just cause its an excuse for more Sawano soundtrack 👀
ya'll wanna see a buff dude?
o wrong ping message?
🤔
Woops, yeh. Meant the one before that with your friends scores lol
Yeah I'm gonna sleep soon
LMAO
give me a chance
Who's mans
Is it funny that I haven't played the Switch Remaster?
Depends. They got that side chesto?
Saido Chesto moment
Xenoblade is still my favorite game though
same
But the Wii version
Yeah I think I'm familar with the Sawano tracks in the series too. Do give it a watch but lmk how the ending goes because the 1.5 guy claims it as the worse anime ending in history and I'm curious
Someone did a mashup of that and Persona's Never See It Comin and its still one of my favorite mashups

It's not often that you find two songs with the same key and BPM, but when you do...!

Songs used:
"Onegai Muscle" - Ai Fairouz and Kaito Ishikawa
"Life Will Change" - Shoji Meguro
Its a great workout song lol
Man you don't even know, if I had to choose an ecchi series I'd choose Danberu
It's one of my guilty favourites
kk
Will let ya know then... someday, when I actually get around to it
solid
Hot take: it time for u to slep
That is indeed a hot take
Because everyone out here says "sleep is for the weak" like stfu 8 hrs is pog
See, thats just a common typo
Its not "sleep is for the weak"
Its "sleep is for the week"
24h a day, 7 days a week
Put me in a coma
How else are you supposed to spend the time between Kanajo mo Kanajo episodes?
Having a life? Dont be silly 👀
Finna disown my dad after that new episode
LMAO
Become an e-girl for life
ngl I actually laughed at that
Youtube girl lowkey gives me the same vibes as Vtubers in the Hololive animated skits lol
kek
the singer for domestic girlfriends' songs Minami is really good tho
Minami’s amazing, we need more of her covering anime openings
apparantly she deleted her past songs
Her YT only have 6 vids you can find a lot more of hers on a couple of music streams
There are some uploads you can find on YT tho
Minami is one of my favs. She deserved better than DomeKano lol
(tho admittingly, the OP of that show is done pretty well.)

trash anime can have banger openings lol
So many good ops bad anime out there

dunno about legit sources
yeah? whats it do?
Basically ||if you commit an act of “pursuit” you’ll fall into its “calamity”||
Considering it has infinite range and the Stand is remote
And that ||the definition of the word “pursuit” is very broad||
||Just even thinking about the Stand can get you killed||
Because what happens ||in “calamity” is that a bunch of nearby everyday objects will hurl towards you, just getting hit by them no matter their velocity can even kill you||

How could they leave out Chrollo from HxH?
Razor is played by the same Jp va that plays Meruem in HxH.
Uh I don't know yo
Why didn't they include Pandora's Actor or Miya Atsumu?

EVA's 4th rebuild movie is quite something.
Overall all the movies are pretty interesting, except for the first cuz that's literally a 6 episode recap
So I guess that's it for the whole series
I promised myself not to talk about the Eva movie, but its the first anime I've ever watched where I have no clue how to feel about it
So at the moment, I'm just gonna not think about it
Ah, you have no words as well I see
I could definitely say a lot of the production, the EVAs transitioning to CGI was kinda kek
It's not a lack of words, it's just I don't know how I feel
but other than that it's awesome
Yep that's what I meant
I can type something right now, but it won't meant anything
It's the first anime where I felt this way
And I promised myself I'd abstain from giving a full blown opinion on it right now since it's full of spoilers and whatnot
But this is one of the weirdest feelings I've had
Usually I have an understanding of whether or not I liked something or not
I'd like to say it's like Star Wars for a lot of people, but thats not how I feel at all
I thought it was a Star Wars modern Trilogy
Yeah... I'll sleep on it. At some point I'll figure out what to think about it
Not familiar with that anime 🤔 what studio produced it?
Must be a new studio, never heard of them 🤔
Just took a look at /r/anime, the Weekly Top Charts were a bit surprising lol
It's a bit of a weird season 😂
Slime always makes it
Somehow
Also, Villainess's most recent episode had some cursed shit lol
My personal favorite:
Lowkey, some of the ||genderbent characters were pretty fine. Geordo's reminded me of Saber of Red 👀 ||
Personal favorite being the Alan ||tsundere genderbend||
Angel Beats is pretty much overrated
Change my mind.
Like fr
After 2 episodes i still don't get 90% of the plot
And i thought that 1st season of Fate/Zero was pretty much hard to understand
After seeing such abomination as Angel Beats i've changed my mind
Ah yes Angel Beats
Outside of Dragon Maid, I dont get hype
I'm gonna use today to catch up to Tokyo Revengers
And then tomorrow pick a random anime to watch

Images that precede misfortune events.
If you don't want to run into the god hand stay away from that thing
The word "eclipse" will never be the same for me again after reading Berserk.
but this isnt from season 2
Honestly, been a pretty tame season (outside of Dragon Maid being its great self as usual).
Have enjoyed Dungeon Black Company a lot more than I expected tho
Most of the other shows this season have largely been "that was decent" or just "meh". Not really any shockers/hype ones like the last two seasons
Fall 2021 is gonna be packed, I’m excited for it
too late, hit squad is on the way
It’s funny because for some reason I’m able to pick up 10 series this season which I thought I wouldn’t
It's gonna be packed, but tbh, with most of them I'm taking a "wait and see" approach. Jahy sama ended up being a bit of a let down, so im not getting myself too hyped up for the new adaptions until I see them.
That being said... very hyped for Mushoku Tensei S2
I already got my eyes on 4 series I’ll definitely watch
- Kyuuketsuki Sugu Shinu
- Ousama Ranking
- Takt Op. Destiny
- Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru
(Redo’s author
)
yee, definitely got a few that I'll for sure watch. Just not getting myself hyped for the new ones til I see for myself how well they do them
I saw that
Ousama Ranking and maybe Takt’s probably my most anticipated new anime to look forward to next szn
Personally keeping an eye on:
- Mushoku Tensei, obviously. S1 was incredibly well done (and faithful to the source material even in the face of some really large criticism)
- Saihate no Paladin
- Komi-san
- World end Harem (for the culture of course...)
that's one of the ones im more nervous about tbh
Saihate just needs a somewhat decent adaption to be good
but Komi-san's is a lot harder of a series to translate to animation
Yeah I can tell
I just know it’s just doing its thing because it’s practically pure comedy and no development
despite the name, its basically blue balls, the anime lol
Being teased, but not getting the fun that would satisfy the teasing
To summarize the premise:
Future advanced world. Dude gets MS, tells his gf to wait for him, and gets put into a coma until the medical super AI figures out a cure for MS.
Advance to 5 years later, dude is woken from the coma, told that 99.9% of the male population died from a virus, and he is one of only a few hundred remaining males alive (the vast majority of which are in cryo sleep because its too dangerous to release them).
He's told that he needs to help repopulate, but dude only wants to be with his GF.
Cue the longest stretch of blue balls imaginable as they try and convince him to cooperate.
(Despite the gimmicky nature of the premise, it does have an actual sci-fi thriller story underneath that plays off the goofyness of the situation very well. But the initial premise is goofy af lol)
someone actually watches those? 😅
I feel like we'd be here quite a while if you tried to 😅
Not really. When the behelit starts to cry. The eclipse happens. And the eclipse was very disturbing.
It's not a baby
It's a red orb
I got scared.
I'm enjoying it so much more each episode @shadow knot
and they made the most recent episode of Bokutachi no Remake a recap LMFAO
Remake's an oof, wanted a new episode but we got a recap instead
But yay you're enjoying it more!
yesh it took a few episodes though- I think I didn't really get the direction it was trying to go in from the beginning
mhm
uhh... the last Idaten episode was kinda weird
But anime is life
the production value is pretty good tho
MAPPA moment
I'm getting jaded with anime
I'm looking at the next season of fall anime and I'm not seeing anything that catches my eye beyond Date A Live luckily
Meh...
Am i the only one who thinks that Bones Studio should release the 4th season of Bungou Stray Dogs already??
sonny boy is getting slept on damn
send this if u get insulted by a random idiot
anime suggestions pls i like demon slayer jujutsu kaisen and konosuba
re:zero?
did the message disapper or u deleted it?
ye, accidentally posted it before I was done typing lol
Don't know how many of these you've seen since most are fairly popular, but going off of those three...
- Mob Psycho 100 - Great story, nearly OPM levels of animation, and some great comedy to match
- Love is War - Peak rom com, with an emphasis more on the comedy than the romance.
- Overly Cautious Hero - Lots of visual comedy, and a pretty decent story too.
- Love, Chuunibyou, and Other Delusions - Good amount of comedy, mixed in with some nice character writing.
- Beyond the Boundary - Hunting down supernatural spirits like JJK, some really good story and pretty good visuals as well.
Dungeon Black Company is currently airing still, but gives a pretty strong Konosuba vibe to me. MC reminds me of Kazuma, but competent.
thx
I could recommend some if you like: Gintama, FMAB, Violet Evergarden, Saga of Tanya the Evil, Monster and Cardcaptor Sakura and Berserk 1997.
Even though Berserk 1997 is overall a B anime. But the manga is the GOAT. The manga is a definite must read.
Are these the only 3 anime that you watched? Cuz if that’s so then I can shoot you some good mainstreams

aot konosuba demon slayer jujutsu kaisen and pokemon only
Solid solid, I’ll shoot you some
- One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100
First one is a parody of the shōnen formula, the other is a coming of age, also recommended by Jake. Definitely check those out - Code Geass
Onslaught paramilitary series delivering twists and turns in an action oriented war. You can’t help but acknowledge the commanding presence LeLouch has to offer. - My Hero Academia
The charm lies in the character appeals and sentimental inducing fights. It’s got a mixed fanbase, but the popularity lies within these reasons and it’s a solid series for a newcomer.
Some comedies you can check out: Grand Blue, Prison School, and Saiki K
@minor grove if you like jjk, demon slayer and konosuba you might like most of these titles ^^^
thx i'll watch these

This season has been pretty disappointing imo but I think there's quite a few I'll enjoy in the fall 👀
I'll still be watching them all like usual but I don't think it's only limited to a few shows that'll pique interest
honestly surprised slime s2 would be your go-to for your "one anime episode" to watch each week lol
like, I'm watching it cause Im a big fan of the manga/ln, but this part of s2 is the most boring arc
To be fair, the first two seasons hold up pretty well. I gave them an 8. Its only around 4ish that the plot starts slowing down a lot
But man, if they can make it past this current arc and get just one more season, the manga goes a little crazy after the current anime arc
This week's was cursed lol
👀
sidenote: ||Spoiler marking|| your comments doesnt keep anything from not getting spoiled if ya dont at least say what series you're talking about lol
oppai
yea, they’re really nice
Woah I sent that in August 3rd 😭
i was replying to your message
A proper impressions
boutta scroll through the first ever message in this channel and reply to it
like this one?
lmfao why December packed with vtubers in this channel back then
Here I'll go with this one:
yooo I agree, Kaiji's really amazing
LMAO YOU WONT
@shadow knot you can easy do so, wanna know how?
I already know how
Sept-December was all HololiveEN hype lol
was crazy
This was also originally a vtuber channel actually
ooh interesting
Simp-ler times

Okay the final impressions
Kono Sekai no Katasumi Ni
It's solid.
It's a lengthy movie that deals with WWII era Japan
It's not like Grave of Fireflies in the sense of trying to make you cry, but a slice of life story of a young woman
It's not an anime that like blows your mind I'm how awesome it is, but a sobering and historical movie
I would call it niche for this server, but its an anime that's sorta an artform. It was done by MAPPA so the animation is great.
It really picks up during that last hour so if you find the pacing weird at the begging or not like the characters, just give it time.
oh In This Corner Of The World or sum like that
I already know I'll like it more
cuz Grave Of The Fireflies I thought it was just "good" and that's it
They both fine films, but Katasumi does things that I appreciate
I know Wind Rises can be seen as a WWII anime film too, but I dont really see it that way
Superb animation and artstyle helps it a ton
But the story really hits it out of the park
It takes an hour to get good
But when it does you understand
I'm going to review my opinions on Ghibli films
I will do that this week
I need to watch more of em
I'm worried that I hold them on a pedestal for being Ghibli films and not on their own
Kyoani is probably the most fanboyish for me
But I know I can't remove that bias
I think Porco Rosso's my favourite and Kiki might be my least favourite for Ghibli
Princess Mononoke was about to be my fav but I think the ending was a bit anticlimatic for me personally
Nausicaa, Spirited Away, and Princess Mononke are top tier for me
I gotta watch Nausicaa
What do you think about Howl's Moving Castle?
I acc liked it awhile back
It's over-rated imo
fair
But overrated is fine
I sorta put it with Castle in the Sky and Kikis and Porco
I'm the biggest hater of Totoro
I didnt watch that movie as a kid and I still think even if I did I wouldn't like it
Yeah my friends kinda think Totoro's just doin its thing nothing too special
But what I mean by need to reevaluate.... I hold Wind Rises really high cause of Anno
He directed it?
He's the main voice actor
Anno helped make Nausicaa too
Well, Wind Rises holds a special place in my heart
It's not just Anno
But if it wasn't a Ghibli films or Anno... I question it
Castle in the Sky is another film I got some sus on
I wanna view these films for what they are and remove that Ghibli bias
jujutsu kaisen only 24 episodes?
hey, has anyone here watched kakegurui? can u tell me how it was?
same question
yep only 1 season but there is an upcoming movie and season 2
JJBA,Bungou Stray Dogs, Houseki no kuni(top tier animation also a must watch), Tokyo Revengers, Fullmetal Alchemeist
what's JJBA?
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Jojo's Bizzare Adventures
I'm gonna watch Jujitsu this week 🍿

Hmm for me my fav ghibli movie is howls moving castle (wow so original lol) and kikis delivery service because they’re just so nostalgic to me and when I was younger I’d be watching them on repeat for hours on end lol
I feel like im the only one here who's not into vtubers
they really gonna make a Anohana sequel or am I capping?
Yeah that 10 year thing
I’m more interested in Okada’s new movie animated by MAPPA
As much as I dislike most of the director’s works, I see MAPPA and I’m like oh bet rofl
But fingers crossed hoping the character writing would be passable to say the least
It’s anime related so.

Middle one just looks like Ollie in a cheerleader oufit to me tbh
Completely different
also
4/5 of the illustrators are fgo artists
The Takeover has begun
why they making an Anohana sequel we don't need one
^
Idk man... I can't be the only one who sees it lol
they def both have the punk rock look going for them. Curious to see their personality tho
Exposed shoulder tops and both hairdos got a resemblence
I would've thought btec Ollie too tbf
she even has the sword lol
(but yeh, more characters like Ollie are always great. Love her stuff)
yeah just leave it on a high note
#FREEKRONII
just spreading the message
what message tho
Jojo part 9 announced?
araki is a damn vampire
Ikr

Oof, saw it in one of the anime reddit threads and had to check for myself...
Apparently Peach Boy Riverside is airing its episodes out of order, intentionally
From the ones out so far:
EP01 > 02
EP02 > 03
EP03 > 09
EP04 > 01
EP05 > 07
EP06 > 08
EP07 > 04
EP08 > 10
Apparently, the director didnt want to end in the middle of an arc, so they rearranged the episodes to give it a "more climatic" ending
LOL HUH
Oh wait actually tho Tanmoshi is kinda doing the same thing too, just skewing the arc orders
It's the weirdest thing 😅 I get that it's "artistic choice", but I dont like it at all
Reminds me of The Way Of The Househusband where the animation is the director's intention
Which honestly it doesn't work well in the anime

@worldly minnow yes double ping

ep 38 of code geass
why
code geass spoiler ||why did shirley die||

which anime should i watch? im a beginner kakegurui bungo stray dogs seraph of the end or my hero academia
done watching it
I think out of these 4, My Hero Academia is the most solid option
Considering it’s a nice mainstream series to start for a beginner
But if you’re feeling a bit more then Bungou Stray Dogs and Seraph Of The End are fine picks too
Kakegurui’s a bit cray cray but entertaining nonetheless
@violet oyster
yes
I said I was watching Touken Ranbu Katsugeki- do you know about that anime?
i dont think so
Ok ...
i kinda dont watch anime that regularly
Welp same.
cause genshin
Mhm...i understand
but i still read manga from a time to time
Which mangas??
i got some physical ones
Oh...
im collecting death note first
That anime is originally a game tho- since it was animated by Ufotable and has got a few references in other animes, i guess that anime is way more popular in Japan tho
Noice
omg, what the fuck is happening here?
Nagatoro chapter 88 spoilers
this face is precious tho
Main plot..goes like there is a squad of Five men who are probably(?) From the future, and their main motive is to prevent history from being damaged by a Certain demon organisation, which causes all of the problems, I would reccomend that anime tho-
Wasn't this manga like...wtf is going on...
Always??
Cuties
||but now we have 2 groups||
||one is trying to "protect" senpai's V-card, the other is trying to "protect" his love
