Main dude, while initially coming off as an asshole, ends up being less of a "obnoxious brat" and more of a "just wont take shit from anyone" person. His personality doesnt change, but he does his best to actually take care of his comrades in his quest to escape work hell. There's one or two points where he essentially goes "honestly, if they want to do this work, more happiness to them. I just know how I want to live".
The humor is surprisingly well done too, with worldbuilding to justify everything in a fantasy context that they honestly werent even obligated to give lol.

Also, despite being the MC with the greatest harem potential of the isekai this season (dude's a walking Chad meme lol), very little to no fan obnoxious service

I can see why it's a dark horse candidate of the season. For production the atmospherics are pretty nice and the animation's handled pretty well. I'd like to see some focus on the theatric performances eventually because considering the budget values they're putting out they can amass a lot of creative potential for it, also worth mentioning the stage play references here and there. However I think the main appeal lies in the school drama stuff and I think they're doing a fine job setting up the character dynamics and vibe they're going for.

I might have one little concern though.

Kageki Shoujo!! layered some heavy themes and I think they fabulously built up the sentiments pretty well. Ai (the blue haired MC)'s gimmick lies around her backstory of ||sexual assault|| when she was younger, and to say the least I think it's pretty valid for the narrative. If anything it had me startled and feeling really bad for her, and the 4th episode's conclusion regarding the idea might be rambunctious but it leaves off at a fine note for now.
My main qualm would be the next theme which is the conclusion of the girl with the ||eating disorder||. God I really felt so bad for her and it was about to be the best episode for me yet. The little concern lies that she's ||perfectly fine the next day/week/month?? Bottom line is that they lazily handled the conclusion for such sensitive topic built up so well and I was like "bruh wait what ok then". I just hope they mention some context about it next episode so I can stop worrying about it.||

Overall the series so far is building up lots of flairs that reels me in more than an average shoujo. It's surely prone to fumble in many instances but while it lasts I hope not

I think the series isn't my cup of tea. I can't get interested enough to even analyze it tbh- I see how they try to tackle different social issues with different characters but I'm just not invested enough. I just really can't appreciate the anime for what it is.

The cake lies within feeling sorts of sentiment through the themes, while the atmospherics are a bonus

The characters are built pretty well, though. If I were an artist and I actually enjoyed this kind of take on the Shoujo genre, then it'd definitely be a top seasonal. Your interpretation did help me see it in a better light though. I just needed to take a closer look at the pros of what the series provides
