In terms of setting up the story I'd say mid but that could just be me cuz at this point I've seen so much first episode intros to not give a lot of opinion on series like this. I haven't seen Irozuku but that one's well received so maybe that could be a reference point in terms of directors. Maybe there were some moving moments? idk?? Otherwise I don't mind watching till the rest but it's good not to have too high expectations to enjoy it the best.

The series' direction is anachronical order, so at one point the story is directed in the present, and another point it's in the past, introducing the origin of the girl Shiki herself and how her powers came to be. It's mainly mystery and a nice touch of thriller, with nice action accompanied by an amazing soundtrack.
