Like the former pissed me off so much but that was its main intention considering the implementations of realism and the attempt of being unique

And the comedic executions were expected from the author of Shinchou Yuusha

Whereas for 86 I would definitely give it like a 6.5 or 7 due to its direction of exposition dump - action packed sci fi drama filled with recognizable production values that makes me hesitate to lower it

As someone said before, you can watch the rebuilds. I personally liked them, although they lean much more into the “big fighty robot” aspect of Eva rather than the character trauma aspects

As for watching them, I would just find some website to watch the first three, and wait for whenever the fourth comes out

You should probably search up Brain's Base because that's the studio that made TYE, although their production is quite different from their usual works back then

It lost a lot of the emotional impact and focused more on the mech aspect (like I think u mentioned) but the characters spoke their mind and were simpler than the original series- which gave me a brain break lol. There were a lot of things they changed with the storyline and everything and I was fine with it since I liked the fresh content being provided.
BUT I AM SO CONFUSED WITH 3.0 can u pls like explain to me what happened? I read like reddit, evageeks and stuff so I get the general gist of it but I just want to hear your opinion and take on it.

Hm, well, assuming you've watched the more popular ones already, here's some ones I really enjoyed that you might like:

Action:

• Still ongoing, but Vivy is really good. Basically the plot of Terminator, but with an idol robot being sent back instead of a muscley Arnold Schwarzenegger
• Re:Creators is a favorite of mine. Basically a reverse isekai where you can see Fate knockoffs fight magical girls, gritty detectives, and mecha protagonists. 10/10 soundtrack and a pretty good story too.

Comedy:

• BOFURI: I Don't Want To Get Hurt, So I'll Max Out My Defense!. The first two episodes are boring tbh, but if you can just stick around til the tournament, the show quickly throws away any pretense of being a serious story and just goes wild.
• The Misfit of Demon King Academy. An endless well of cheesy one-liners that knows not to take itself too seriously. Great lines such as "You thought killing me was enough to make me die?" galore.

There's a handful of not entirely crappy animated (sadly still CGI) scenes, but the majority of it is still bland. The entire episode is just one long cgi fight and talking (No Spider MC)

Honestly, you could skip all but the credits scene of that episode and miss nothing of value imo

The rapid downturn of the spider isekai is honestly kind of shocking. Usually a series either starts shit, or stays at least somewhat consistent. Never seen one decline this much this quickly (especially in the fucking season finale of all things)

I was kinda prepped to just drop it anyway, but ||Steins gate up to episode 9 for me is just the exposition to the story, it's characters and their development, and from episode 9 onwards the pace is in my eyes perfect, like walking down a road trying to unveil a mystery, gradually getting closer. Besides, i never saw a science fiction story handle time travel as well as this one, and I'm a sucker for stuff like that. Obviously what you said is something i can get, but for me i felt like the story was made exactly in the way to make me love it, which is kinda making me very biased towards it's shortcomings||
