I don't like to use suspension of disbelief often, because it has limited scope. I prefer to consider it as a narrative device. Like sometimes authors intentionally lift suspension of disbelief (like breaking the 4th wall etc), which is why I think the term is not applicable in broader discussion

If I'm not typing or just thinking in general, when I have a definitive thought I tend to say it out loud whether I'm alone or not lol

But whisper it if I'm not alone so I don't confuse people around me

yeah, there are lots of different ways of thinking, like what you were talking about is synesthesia and there are a bunch of others. I explored that sometime ago and tbh at that point I thought: "Do we actually just imagine that we understand each other at all?" and thinking deeper it got a bit depressive.

It's sorta hard to explain, but the metaphor I usually go with is like...
Imagine you're in your room, you've lived there for years. The lights go off. You still have a rough idea of the shape of the room, your position in it, etc. You might even be able to navigate it. But you're not actively "seeing" it with your eyes.

Changing the first "the" from der (nominative) to den (accusative) changes it from the verb (beißt - to bite) from being something the dog is doing to something being done to it.

same for changing the man's from den (accusative) to der (nominative). Now he is the receiver of the verb

TL;DR: Same way you conjugate a verb to say if it's a female or male thing doing it, you also (in German) change it to indicate the direction the thing is being done (to them, by them, away from them, or belongs to them).

But you also have to conjugate based on gender... so you end up with a 4x4 grid of possible conjugations

4x4 because there's 4 "cases" (the direction thing), and 4 gendered options (Male, female, neutral, plural)

also German's word genders dont match what you'd expect either, so you can't just guess them. "Girl" is neutral.

Basically they have to learn to identify Gnosia through this crude simulation

think it was about when MC goes in that dungeons and gets betrayed by that fucker..

but yah anime is so bad... i mean more of disappointment.. but at least it doesnt have the excuse of 7 deadly sins and OPM that did show they can do god anime in first season

the biggest critics to story is 2 things:

1. basically infinite growth like DBZ but without the excuse that in DBZ u know they are in their "weak" state if not transformed in lvl1 then lvl 2 etc super sayan not just by name but visually u see it "Shit be serious", but in the story above.. its like every time he gets a power up the writer basically tells u now he can defeat their previous enemy with just a slap... that after several power ups u would think MC just sneezing should obliterate a town by mistake.. cuz after power lvl nr 2 they literally could take solo other powered up bandits/adventurers with them themselves already being a rarity of 1 in 100 compared to usual population pleb lvl

oh right forgot of nr 2.. got on tanget on nr 1...
2. the whole backstory is pulled on so randomly introducing new character from past life... and ehmm and never properly finished ..or what was the point after so longass narration of 200+ chapters?? in adding so much about those specific things from his past life? if not to actualy make him somhow return to that world.. or make someone from that world come to his..? and yet... still nothing after so long on still gradually adding more details about his past world

For Japanese, I can read the text and "hear" the emotion and tone of how they're saying it. That's harder to do for me with Chinese (at least, harder to do passively).

Solo Leveling, quite like many other game system manhwa that are considered moderately good by the target audience, have decent starts
the same goes for ORV

my issue is after an interesting opening they tend to devolve into the same patterns that I am very not fond of — in the case of Solo Leveling its characters become carbon cutouts, MC loses all personality, and the struggle of growing takes to the backstage
the good moments in the story become very rare, there are no secondary or tertiary main characters, and the inter-personal conflicts can be watered down to "well im stronger and have more bitches also L + Ratio"

for ORV this overlaps more with omniscient MC, because MC know all that will happen, they suddenly gain the ability to make all the right decisions and deduce any changes with relative ease

I'll admit the characters are written better there, the MC is given more time (comparatively) to reflect on how he interacts with the other characters and the world around him, you also get to see him have an ||ideological (?) battle with the original novel's MC||

After reading through ORV manhwa, once I switched to the web novel all interest pretty much died for me, it felt like the story was reverting to the common patterns I mentioned earlier, and the chapters were drawn out to the point of Fantasy lore-dumping sized blocks of text

by the way I find that SSS Class Sushicide Hunter also falls into this pitfall, mainly that other characters have no presence in the story whatsoever, and the MC takes too much of a central stage

this to me sucks because the characters that appear closest to the MC seem to have some ideological and interpersonal conflicts, instead all that creative budget is spent on the stories that the MC encounters inside the tower (and it shows because these stories are really great)

-Solo leveling feels like someone narating their gameplay in some RPG.. and even then that game is caleld RPG just cuz it got stats and he grows stronger...all rest side character are literal NPC
-Omniscient reader puled me in cuz i thought will get to see some mind fuck meta plot fuckery..(cuz i was already coming from reading 3+ different webnovles with same theme Modern world got converted to "gameification isekai wtv" )e but it was the usual power lvlving plot...besides when finally meeting ||themselves?? MC of the story they read at start??|| wtv but after that it felt again.. powerllving rest behaving like NPC's

well my "counter defense" is to fans defending what i critic usually when i shit on stories manga or even game like genshin... is this:
"listen i just shit with passion on 2 things of this story/game"..waht it means? well it means-> exactly that i shit on this 2 things..thats all.. it means all rest is ok with me
->NOW if all that maters or makes in this story/game is only this 2 aspects and not the dozens of other things that should make it a complete full experience.. then thats not a critic on me.. but who ever created that... thats its enough to shit on 2 things to ruin it all for you...
