Isekai and "kicked out of the hero's party" both fulfill the same use of making it so the author doesnt have to flesh out the character's backstory/growth and can just jump straight into "look how powerful and cool this dude is" type shenanigans.
Ofc, the author still can go back and explore the character's previous experience and growth, but both tropes do get used a lot by authors as a way to avoid that and jump straight to power fantasy.
