Ok. I guess this needs to be said. The meme involves attribution fallacy, but it uses it intentionally in bad faith with intention to harm so-called purists. Let me explain

So, the meme pitch is: Japanese voice actors are chill and cozy with their foreign counterparts. Which sets context at human relations. The purists part context is about product (quality of voice acting) not humans behind said voice acting. This is where the disconnect comes from: two completely different contexts, first is product quality second is human relations

So, purists dislike product

But the way meme operates with context, it puts accent on human relations, so the first idea is cast into a frame of human relations

The harmful part of the meme: now purists look like they are hating voice actors, not the quality of voice acting. And that is bad, right? So purists are bad, because they hate EN voice actors (which is not true)

This is the harmful intention behind the meme, to manipulate the viewpoint

Also, I mostly reacted to "the contrast... is pretty interesting though" statement. Because it is the second part of why the meme is harmful. It uses contrasting technique to pique interest(humans are naturally interested by contrasts). In the meme it is bad, because it doesn't provide any actual insight. It simply virtualizes non existent contrast of values, to make it interesting. And since you don't gain insight, brain is tricked into inventing insight, by casting it into a single framework of human relations. And since this insight comes from yourself, viewer is tricked into believing it as true (we inherently believe our own ideas)

So the false idea (purists hate EN voice actors) gains more weight in your view because of the above

There are other clever manipulative techniques in that meme, working towards the goal(harmful goal that is). But I ll reserve explaining those, in case a natural discussion appears

So it mimics positive thinking while in the background it heavily works on the opposite

This is generally what mine tends to look like, cooked bell peppers, onion, eggplant, spinach, and tomato w/ some garlic, once cooked I throw in the pre-mixed eggs with basil, parsley, oregano, salt, and ground pepper, once the eggs are cooked I top it with some cheddar cheese to melt and some feta on top of that- it's fucking delicious

Part of it is because S1 (the 24 episodes that just ended) isn't really meant to tell a singular story

The director talked about it in an interview before the show started airing, but basically S1's more of an anthology to introduce the main characters/heroes and the broader world, and S2 is when they plan on focusing more on a focused story/character arcs

You see, I always know that convenience store in japanese is konbini, but now I realized, after learning the basics of katakana, there are "V" sets of letters for katakana, one of them is ヴィ or 'vi', why didn't the Japanese uses this one instead of ビ or 'bi'?
