It's, well in life
Unfortunately, despite having read a lot of material in the past to try and help myself, it never truly sank in and did
But having those experiences first hand and learning empathy through others did
I'm being facetious
Well, that's often the point. You get theory, then apply it. A good book provides you a better lookout. But I don't insist
So any commentary? I am in a mood to argue a bit
Ur a clown tldr
Eh, nothing new
So are a few other ppl in this discussion
Kvit already said that
Until you forget you ever even read the book because it barely had an impact on you other than a quick "oh, that's interesting" and when the time comes it doesn't spring up into your mind because you have a thousand other things flashing back and forth instead from your personal, real life experiences with similar things
I would say takes one to know one but that would incriminate myself, then again we're all clowns in one way or another. Just some more than others
You forget, but you don't forget everything. If you read multiple books some facts repeat and that's how we get things into longterm memory, by getting stuff repeated at an interval
I think it's put in long term memory based on impact
Which ig repetition could be
Also why did this whole debacle happen in anime channel
Ye lol
Correct. Different reinforcement works towards remembering things longterm
Or just having it happen and getting the experiences for yourself, I am a kinesthetic learner- I suck at absorbing information through written forms
Most information goes over my head if it's only written
Get the nurolink and just download Wikipedia
Which is why I keep saying, experiences will help better than reading a book lmao

Because caveman said "this must've been a nightmare to draw" and sent a screenshot of a manhwa panel with really well drawn hands
If you want to know the true start to all of this lol
Well, I need to finally learn that unsolicited advice is as bad as wrong advise and stop doing that. You didn't need my advice, so I will fuck off
It's alright to give advice, it was just that I had said a few times that reading a book wouldn't help me and you kept insisting lol
Well, yeah, my bad. I tend to be a bit too eager about books
Lmao
I've noticed lol
Then, if you noticed, pwease forgib me UwU, since you have a prior knowledge of my shortcomings
What about OwO T-T

Read this manga without seeing its synopsis and let it take you for a ride...
What's the genre
Psychological, i won't tell other genre
I only see two chapters. Either its a oneshot or it just started lol
Yeah, it just started
I'll pass for now then lol
Nothing I hate more than a great hook then being told to wait several months for there to be enough out for it to go anywhere with it
JakeFromStateFarm
Have u been reading spy x family
I left off on a chapter an I wanna come back to it
Okay, you got me interested. Though she reminds me of a heroine from Mirai Nikki with her posture. Hopefully, I am wrong xD
Oh ho, how could you never be more far wrong than you are rn.
I mean, I just read completed series. Cant be impatient about something I dont start
I read 3-5ish chapters, decide if it seems decent, then slap it in my "Incomplete, Check Later" tab of Tachiyomi. Refresh that every now and then, and whenever I see a [End] chapter pop up, I move it over to "completed" to read
We will see. But I also had a feeling it might be something akin Kuzu no Honkai, because the cover looks like some romantic manga, and you said psychological genre
|| The teacher looks like he was made to be manipulated into self unalive || I wonder if that's gonna happen by the end of the first chapter
I might not be too wrong. || It seems the girl manipulates people into letting her do what she does, by which she satisfies her own perverse desire||
||You could be wrong, i would say, the girl doesn't have any manipulation ability and that the teacher has a "really short term memory problem"||
I mean... || She excels at manipulation. During basketball, she intentionally fell to hit her nose, so that it would bleed and that would provoke the other girl to try to hit her with an elbow in the vulnerability heroine created - the bleeding nose, which she expected because she planned something like that, which gave her an opportunity to scare that girl shitless, likely also with some purpose in mind||
But it does continue rather unexpectedly for a reader. Could be interesting to follow
||And it gives me Dostoevsky Crime and Punishment vibes a bit. There is some semblance between Male MCs of the manga and the book|| I wonder if the author was inspired by the book
holy mid x family
when will you have good taste in anime
ITS THE ONE WHERE ||THE WHITE HAIR LADY HAS ALL HER BONES BROKEN AND SHES IN A HOSPITAL||
my reaction to seasonals
oh wtf
THATS WHY I QUIT
I REMEMBER NOW
ITS CAUSE THE TIME BETWEEN EACH CHAPTER WAS SO LONG
😭
whar
Wei war in Kingdom was pretty damn epic
Done with 75th chapter due to just being stuck on train having fuck all to do
Liking the characters so far, don't find anybody annoying or unnecessary
huh
i guess shounen enjoyers have a stronger constitution
from there on it only gets better
also, the manga made me hate war even more which is kinda funny
I like Ouki the most so far, looking forward to whatever shit he does
interesting
I just like a mf who can do his thing without being stopped
He just be chilling scheming whatever
Also having a pocket yes-man is kinda funny
He is literally just standing on business, also Shin called him "A huge queer" which I find very funny
And funny lips, + cool weapon
wtf I don't remember that
Just very well rounded mf
During their first meeting
I am most certain that translation I am reading is 15-20 years old
honestly he's right
Ouki is so out there, like most of the generals you'll see in the story
also I think you will love Kanki, but he appears like 300 chaps in or something
oh that guy
I honestly see him more as a gag character
because of how incompetent he is
yea same
(Clueless)
that's like the biggest pull to this character
Lol
everyone cheering him on
Oh also ||Ten (the chicken costume kid) was so obviously a girl, knew it from first few times she appeared, HUGE Dororo vibes gave her away||
Ikr, and get this, ||Shin doesn't realise until someone tells him about it, and that is even after she grows badoonkers||
oh yea btw this is a historical manga, so if you know Chinese history you will be familiar with the major events
Lol
Yeah the moment I heard "Qin" and "Unite China" I figured
Also manga starts with stating of historical records about time
Although I thought it was maybe just "what if" during said period
it's more of a colorised interpretation of that period in history
putting supernatural powers aside
well, Idc anyway cuz Idk any of that
I'm only familiar with the Three Kingdoms period which is like 13 centuries later
thanks to a Total War game
I mean, I would expect there were no 5 meter tall furless man eating gorillaz
TRUE
Also mountain people are pretty cool, hope to see more of them later
I approve of cannibalism, I am huge fan of Rimworld after all
XD
oh yea, if you get far enough there will be a moment where
I'm curious what u think about it
I would not spoil myself to what happens later
There are several hundreds of chapters, they won't go anywhere while I am not reading
yea
Ok?
well I don't wanna spoil
I understand they want to milking it, but Hidden Inventory arc??
https://fxtwitter.com/MangaMoguraRE/status/1827668554197467337?t=vngMR3uVHNxSD2phKK0Nlw&s=19
Hidden inventory is the best arc in terms of actual story (imo)
But yeah "compilation movie" is lamest shit ever, clearly a cash grab
Shibuya arc had a lot of unfinished animation, i thought they would fix it
Common consumer probably would not even notice such mistakes, besides didn't we have blu-ray release which did fix some?
They did A LOT of anime only stuff so as manga reader I was happy as shit I still don't see the problem with supposedly unfinished animations
It looks dope as shit and that's enough for me at least
The animations were unfinished but they tried their best to make it still look good and honestly, in my opinion, it does
Some of it actually felt artsy because of it and gave an interesting feel you wouldn't normally see in other action anime
Almost like opm's first season
I think animation was phenomenal personally
And if "That's not even my final form!" For animators I am incredibly impressed
Especially with how it seemed like they were all treated in general
Picking up the slack for your colleagues who just couldn't take it anymore
Basically
sup anime channel, how yall doin?
its good lol
cool
interesting
This tweet
Had a lot more goddamn power than anticipated
Now Twitter is Miku International

It took inspiration from this older tweet tho, which is super cute
Aww
It is cute
Miku truly transcends everyone and everywhere
She's like the one universal constant
@tidal shore Ouki is such a cool motherfucker damn
I am stuck in my village helping my granny for few days, not enough internet for high quality videos so I read instead
fair
infinite leveling: murim
it's a battle manhwa, and honestly I enjoy the creativity in some of the fights so far
i see, thanks!
@tidal shore Shin is absolutely just unbothered king
Bro would see your whole family die mid-battle and say "Cry about it later"
oh it's Shousa
he's my favorite side character in this manga
you will see why later
yea
yeah some of Shin's dialogue really be like
you know how he ||supports Sei's goal of unifying China through war?||
||the way he rationalises this is also kinda fucked up like "don't kill civilians, only combatants" but then I'm like, civilians get drafted a shit ton into war, ur likely killing people who were peasants a few months ago, Imo he's so hooked on war that he doesn't see better options out there (like diplomacy, or that the ruling class decides this, and scheming would probably avoid a lot of casualties etc||
yap yap
well it's a battle manga so I may as well yap
What a boring pacifist take on 200 years before bce society
You got exactly what you expected, a story about warring states doing what they are supposed to, war
yeah no shit
the average person who's a cog in a machine wouldn't even be aware of this
back then
When you pick up a weapon and try to take my shit you deserve death no strings attached
Invading do be just the generals' whim tho lol
what is this american mindset
ptfu
disgusting
ah, then it would be self defense
How is that any bad? I value my things more than a robber's life
i got confused with other american mindset where "if ur on my property I'll shoot"
/s
I am more about being "left the fuck alone in peace" not much about "Let's go over there and kill this guy you have no idea of"
fair
Unless I benefit from it like a shit ton ┐( ∵ )┌
if that's the case maybe u'd make for a decent roommate, as long as you don't yap by yourself
Or sentimental value
I, for one, want to kill a one particular person for 6 years now
My roommates always told I am alright, I always clean up my plates, tidy up my part of room and give money for improvements if necessary
Also I don't talk a lot most of the time unless I saw something REALLY funny or spoken to
I just have a telegram channel of 5 of my closest friends were I yap into a virtual wall which they sometimes check out to check how I do
I have comments disabled but whenever I bring up smth "I sent it in my channel" they seem to always know what I mean which is reassuring
Saw this fucking critter the other day and just HAD to tell my roommate come look at my screen 😂
what is this
doesn't really sound healthy, considering that's almost third of your life
She almost murdered my mother in broad daylight and went unpunished, that person genuinely deserves hell
Any preferences for the type of shows? Worldbuilding heavy? High intensity action? Etc. Etc.
There's a pretty large variety out there. Knowing what you like would help a lot
Watch Gurren Lagann
No idm how bloody it is
I want something that gets interesting right away
If u have
Gurren Lagann
My pleasure
- Dr. Stone 2) Death Note 3) Re: Zero 4) Attack on Titan
dr stone and death note, damn
Why not? Dr. Stone is very good if you don't know the stereotypes they used
I dropped it sadly T^T
And death note has been maybe the most recommended first anime to watch ever
I could feel One Punch Man and Baki luring me in
oh its very good
It's not for everyone but after reading the manga it's 8 at most
Baki is fucking gass
Best comedy on earth
not the gas comment
Baki is the greatest martial bullshittery there is
I should also watch mashle too
To specify, I recommended these shows specifically because how fast they become interesting, not really about how good they really are. Though they are good
Link Click, Mashle, One punch man, fire force, Trigun stampede, oshi no ko, summertime rendering, dungeon meshi
Mashle is peak stupid, I love it
watched all except for rezero, watched s1, overhyped ngl
jojo
damn oshi ko no
It gets interesting pretty fast
I will highly highly recommend link click though
however the mc spending time with girls and going to be an actor and etc, that's boring for me
Jake will hit you with more under the radar stuff probably
first time i hear of this anime
Essentially the premise is that two guys that own a photo store can travel back in time to when a photo was taken
Nah, was just gonna shill Vivy for the 5000th time
And they solve mysteries
damn
I still gotta watch vivy
the story's pretty interesting
Ya really do
It's my favorite show of all time

It gets serious/interesting right away
Lmao
Is that real
They gave 3 hour notice to save bookmarks 😭
And what's nyaa
Nevermind they still exist
They rebranded back to 9anime
And aniwave is shut down
For now
That's what I saw when I clicked on my old bookmark but the link at the bottom seemingly works just fine
For now
Also yeah wth is nyaa
Nyaa si is like pirate bay for anime
Its fine
Well, I have some more stuff. 1) Higurashi (older series) 2) ID:Invaded 3) Summertime rendering
ID:Invaded recommend is craaazy
its psycho pass if it only had one season (good)
Nah Psycho pass imo is MUCH better, just don't watch like past season 2...
What other "It's good (Trust me bro) but it's just one season of thriller action" shows we have? Pet? Babylon? 91 days?
91 days imo being on par with Psycho pass, imo like a 9/10 great show
I mean it's just a good show not a crazy amazing one, maybe try Mob Psycho 100 or something that shit a masterpiece
Done
Mob
I’ll check gurren lagan
you will like it cuz there's so much more to come regarding him
Looking forward to this fight fr
155 chapters in and twists just keep happening damn this shit fun
He is HIM all caps it seems
Zhao top generals have a very strong aura surrounding them, liking all of them in one way or another so far
I have to say that I am big fan that this manga (so far at least) is composed of both big battles and little duels AND STILL gives some breathing room between all the action to get attached to said characters, I now see why this manga is so hyped up, not many other animanga pieces are as successful in that aspect as Kingdom
Yakusoku no Neverland is basically the god of watch only 1st season
Oh god don't remind me 😭
That show went to shit so quick I thought I skipped a season
I don't feel like suggesting Psychopass because not many people can appreciate it from my experience. Personally my top1 detective anime and top5 overall
┐( ∵ )┌ it just feels you are the biggest fan of ID:invaded there is
I do appreciate underappreciated anime more. It's idea is more interesting than Psychopass, but it ran out of steam towards the end, so didn't perform that well overall
I think it's just the ideas in it resonating more in you while psychopass resonates with different people
Id invaded doesn't resonate with me much, but what I like is its novel ideas that I haven't seen before, compared to many other cyberpunk movies and books. Tbh, Psychopass reuses a lot of template drivel of cyberpunk genre, which is fine but not really mindblowing. Its overall production quality and narration is magnitudes better ofc
Ngl, I expect Heavenly Delusion to join the ranks of "godly 1st season, flop in 2nd season". Just the way it ended ||with everyone escaping the facility|| just never works out in my experience. Maze runner, Neverland, Prison Break, Lost, Matrix to some extent all flopped because of it.
Also MHA to some extent. Shows just don't do well, when the action theater expands from the initial enclosed area
Heavenly Delusion is incredibly interesting show with great animation, characterization and story telling so I expect a lot more of that ngl
Well, if it works out for Heavenly Delusion, it would be one of the few outliers in my experience who managed to expand the theater without losing out on narrative. Not unheard of. Some of the stories I know did that well, but there are rather few of them
And, the reason the stories I know did that well, because they killed all the characters except the main cast, so the story didn't spread thin. Could happen in Heavenly Delusion as well
Also, Harry Potter is an interesting example. It suffered a lot from moving away from Hogwarts to a bigger arena in the last book, but still did pretty well. I guess because it was still laser focused on just a few characters
Just like Pirate Bay, Nyaa died once for our sins but then was brought back by generous samaritans
Tokyo Toshokan and Nyaa are two pillars of anime scene
Its very surprising they dont make mecha version of Bocchi
https://fxtwitter.com/HobbySite/status/1828374726915563903?t=9jdx_HZO8zYUXxdmHHK_2g&s=19
Fyi, 30 Mins is famous for producing gunpla
i should watch psycho pass
its def better if we talk only one season, but id invaded has some really cool ideas and work around with the characters and plots and I vouch for it to be a good show to consider watching if you're in a mystery rut
babylon had so much potential I still think its not an outright bad show it just could've been a lot better
If you are big detective fan yeah it can be pretty entertaining
During airing the release order was a disaster too
Killed any hype
ah you remember too
They took like month+ break between episodes don't remember why
after that one big episode it took a hiatus
I just remember being really bummed out
Cus I was really looking forward to continuation after a big moment
Also because I don't remember any other anime having sudden hiatus like that just mid season
it had all the right things going for it but last stretch was definitely a rush
86 had its hiatus but the wait was worth it for anime fans
The only anime I would strongly recommend wearing headphones for though ahahhaha

ASMR Queen
Also wtf this video has shitload of views
makima if she was good

Woooooah
Hey
Kvitsev
What? Like a big fan of detectives
Was it a mistype
Cause uh
The last part of that word is a slur
I'll give you a chance to change it
I can't believe this has half a million views, I bet most of these people haven't watched the anime lol
I'll vouch a chance too I actually could've snitched
It is too. Both of them have a very offensive/derogatory slur in them
Unless you're British and just using it to refer to cigarettes, would very highly recommend against using it lol
don't forget this one too
It's just a term you use for new members of community of fans? I've seen it everywhere dunno why you suddenly think I am homophobic I am literally gay
We aren't saying that
We arent saying you are. The word very much is tho
It's just that it contains a slur that is very much against the guidelines of the server
So the 3 of us are giving you a chance to not use it in here
Honestly? I will take the ban idgaf anymore
I've been here too long anyways
Almost thought of some people as more than pfps
up to you
The use in anime talk for it comes from 4chan, which should be the first clue it's not going to be appropriate in actual conversations lol
Fine fine y'all
Didn't know this tbh
It's just been appropriated by post-soviet countries ages ago
At least people currently in here are pretty chill, Teruko and Lime are a laughing stock and Caveman should fucking pick himself up from the ground, can't be bothered to remember more of any y'all weebs
I will quit myself before I get notified by that restarted hu tao bot for 100th time
lmfao
so what are you guys watching nowadays
or reading
I'm still on the burnout arc but I managed 10 episodes of rewatching diamond is unbreakable recently
Honestly been busy with a new job, so I've mostly just been making a bit of progress here and there on some longer series I still need to complete 👀
thats awesome dude
Few episodes of Log Horizon, a bit of Monogatari, etc.
Still ages away from finishing tho lol
solid stuff
Got through Kizumonogatari... ngl, wasnt much of a fan. Story felt way more abstract/floaty than Bake's
Animation was nice, was fun seeing the bits that pop up in AMVs all the time, but ready to go back into season long stories lol
I think Kizu would be the best part for most people as the main consensus
not to say I’ve only seen Bake and Kizu and then dropped afterwards tho lmao
Liked Bake much more here lol
Tho I still hold a very strong opiniom that the date episode should have been the finale
seen a lot of shows that kinda work the same calibre of pretentiousness as monogatari so personally I couldn’t really give a damn about it to continue
but I get the hype
date episode being the last for the installment kinda valid yeah
Having two more episodes after that felt weird lol
indeed
As far as seasonals go tho, did check out a few episodes of Wistoria and liked that. Nothing spectacular ofc, but a solid anime I'll probably binge when it finishes
Animation for it goes all out tho
mmm yeah I'm like way far out of the seasonals nowadays
like this season has what
a million romcoms?
Tbf, the romcoms this season look solid af lol
Like, the adaption of the Russian girl one was wayyyy better than I expected tbh
I mean you probably know me a bit by now
russian girl one I've seen pop up and it looks stupid lol
has that one sister too that goes "good morning my brother" I think
insanity
but I heard my friends talk about that one show airing from A-1 Pictures and it looks nice enough to consider watching, no clue about the story though
one day I may be back watching, but it'd probably be old classics tbh
and in a long time cuz I'm using up my free time playing music or other games or gacha hell rn haha
this one
Fun trivia: the main girl in it (the russian one) is voiced by Ash Ketchum in the English dub (who does surprisingly good Russian)
I am watching the English dub of #AlyaSometimesHidesHerFeelingsinRussian right now.
I love hearing @sarahnatochenny's Russian accent as Alya and the dynamic she is pulling off with Masachika's dub voice (@A…

Oh yeh, been editing AMVs of gachas here
got a ZZZ one and HSR one that are ~1 or two more trailers of footage away from being done
not a zzz truther unfortunately, the most I've delved into was the soundtracks for ellen joe because the music is heavily polyphia coded so it grabbed my interest

WHAT
hi cocoglock
HE WAS MY SERIOUS BRO
i have bad news for you
I'll agree with Kvit here, typical westerner attitude trying to force your own standards on what is and isn't acceptable to say for the rest of the world
if you guys even glimpsed at r/2balkan4you I bet half of you would explode
here is where it started
there's like 29378382 alternatives good luck
okay but that doesnt matter
its inherently against the guidelines of this server
this isnt a "typical western attitude", its what you follow while youre in this space

Like shut down?
yeah
like gone
Noooooo
aniwave changed back to 9anime cause it got bodied
idk tho i havent watched anime in a year
YAY
I USED 9ANIME BEFORE ANIWAVE
anyways gtg anime chat
im going to the gym

pretty sure what I said also applies to the server rules, just more "official" and verbose

anyway dropping the topic
coming back once i watch anime again (never)
Oh
smart idea
thx for telling me to pick myself up, I can't be bothered
coco gym
it's good. But the music is simple, just pop music. Remove vocal and it's nothing special. Compare to his tracks 10-15 years ago
Zoro changed its name and look like 3 or 4 times iirc lol
Looked better with the og setup
didnt zoro change to kaido
Zoro went to aniwatch, then it became (its current form) hianime
It's a game of whack a mole, with half the moles being in countries with no enforcement lol
I wouldnt be concerned
It's just a minor inconvenience looking up the next site to use
ironic how they call themselves "alliance of creativity" while stifling creativity by removing ways for foreigners to interact with media, which also limits cultural impact and and and and
ah tbh netflix and other services have anime, but are they available in every country?
these sites get shittier with each iteration though, with the amount of ads or midware they push
Imagine seeing ads
also aren't most anime websites made with the domain of some island country like Tuvalu or something?
That or Tonga (.to)
anime-kisa was too good for us frfr
I don't see ads, because I don't use sites with too many ads
I just use an adblocker
on mobile you can get browsers with built-in ad blockers
No
I don't see the reason not to
Netflix very regional
There might be a list out there with different VPNs you need to hop into to get X shows/anime cause their blocked in this or that country
But i wouldnt bet on it
Yes
They make like 5% of their gdp from it i think or smth
Small but worth
1/6th
Tbf this server wasn't even created by or started with westerners
One of them was Chinese lol
And another is in England but from somewhere east iirc
And the rules were made from a mix of people who both are and aren't American
Various Europeans, east Asians, and some Americans when the official rules were posted that we largely use today
So less westerner attitude and just... General pleasantries? I suppose
Aka just don't be racist or a bigot or an asshat
Damn there goes my plans of being an asshat tonight
!!50K
that's an attitude of any powerful group, they will push their standards on you one way or another. Westerners are simply in a position to be more arrogant about it. There is no point in throwing stones at western culture when we still consume it most of the time.
That and you've made the choice to join this public server with these rules
And if you don't like it then I'm sorry but rules are rules first and foremost
I always forget 50k was a thing lol
It feels like so long ago
It was your choice to join, and if you don't like it then it's your choice to leave because of it lol
I doubt he is really against the rules. Feels more like a next stage of finding your own identity. It's like when you quit rebelling against your parents, and then against your school or whatever next authority you choose to defy, afterwards come the stage when you start to deny culture and ideology just to see what is your own place in this system.
Some people just never get past that point, but I doubt he is one of them
I won't make assumptions for his stance, but I was saying that in general
There are people who will openly bring up how they have issues with the rules and commonly fall back on saying we are too sensitive
But they were the ones who chose to join a server with said rules
Sorry I didn't make that more clear
I know I tend to say things to a second person when I actually mean anyone in that situation
He mentioned "typical westerners" multiple times not only today. It is saying something
But if kvits left because he wasn't allowed to break the rules, then that was his right to do so
Ah
Hey caveman am I a typical westerner
You are a typical westerner to a fault
Like, extremely so
Like, you know those hypothetical stereotypes people have, that aren't really any one person, but more of a general shared pool of traits? Yeah, that person
He is a typical westerner too, whether he denies it or not. Poland is a western country today, but ofc with their own idenity
considering that there was no question mark I thought it was more of a rhethorical question. If you watch western movies and entertainment, western news, study from western books, know a western language and talk to western people it is likely a decent part of your thinking is western
Fair enough
Tbh nothing wrong with that. If you watch anime for 10 years you would have a bit of japanese way of thinking too, whether you want it or not. You might communicate with japanese culture better in the future. Mutual understanding is better than misunderstanding
She’s getting stronger…
Parody of this btw
damn, and here we are without the main Gurren Lagann fan to appreciate the post
Idk who that is
Kvit
Ok
If my interactions with Nora mean anything it means my communication with a Japanese person isn't any better LMAO
You should've been there when I tried speaking and singing to her
The world was never enough for her
Nora is their own culture tbf. They've ascended beyond mortal labels
it's likely you disagree more with some of your neighbours though
so not really indicative. Now if you survival depended on that cooperation, that would be indicative
hey, communicating with bears should be pretty tough, aint it?
LMAO
Which kind
I'd say the human kind are very easy to talk to
did I lose you
no
Oh okay
I do watch hockey
let's be honest, it's either hockey or felling trees. Don't tell me you can be a software dev with a hand the size of a shovel /j
I mean big burly gay men
They are very easy to talk to and very friendly lol
From my experience
canadians are generally quite friendly, from my experience. At least English-speaking
They are
hmmm
Sorry this is the first thing I come back to
My brain did a triple take
and if you played hockey at that time, that would be triple axel
then just look 3 times
now I assume there is a separate meaning for bears?
Is it there in Urban Dictionary?
No it's a term in the queer community
I suspected so
even better, it's on wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bear_(gay_culture)
In gay culture, a bear is a man who is fat, hairy, or both.
The bear concept can function as an identity or an affiliation, and there is ongoing debate in bear communities about what constitutes a bear. Some bears place importance on presenting a clear masculine image and may disdain or shun men who exhibit effeminacy, while others consider acce...
i mean, i already explained it 😭
i said big burly gay men
Yeah it's the same definition as what kc said
first time hearing of this lol
I mean... is it not a common use of bear when describing big bulky, possibly hairy people?
it can be, but in english speaking countries it is a common name for a big, hairy gay man
I feel like it's 50/50 depending on who you're talking too
Usually it'd be like "oh he's kinda like a bear"
For what you're talking about
ye
hmm, will ppl take offence if you call a guy a bear? In my understanding that would generally be a compliment
not really, unless that person specifically finds it offensive
over here it's become a general term, sort of like calling someone a lesbian because they're a lesbian/into other girls
I was pretty sure that "What a bear" similarly to "What an oaf" (but less derogatory) was used way before any queer usage was introduced.
yes
and gay was also used as a derogatory term
but it's perfectly acceptable now to use the word in reference to someone
language changes over time
and before it was used to mean a queer person, it was used to say someone was happy
and before that gay was pretty normal
damn humans, decide already, do you want it to be derogatory or not
"walking gayly" was akin to saying "walking with joy"
that's the problem with trying to be cool and pick up commonly used slang on the internet while being non-native speaker. You see it used commonly, you think it's normal then, maybe you use it often yourself, and then you figure out that it's actually migh be not ok to use. Well, that's an ever-existing problem of trying to keep pace with trendy words
to this day I still find a lot of terms I didn’t know existed and are bad
reminds me of a little girl earlier who screamed "WORLD STAR" when she was being carted away in a carriage
i hope she didn't know the alternate meaning
but with kids these days, i have 0 idea if they mean it the way i know it or not lol
same, and i natively speak this goddamn language
wait, what we are talking about here
i'd say just use urban dictionary
nah, it's for something else from back in the 00s
not necessarily nsfw but it's borderline because of context
and she looked like she was maybe 10
Oh yeah? Then explain this!
Look at the cat
the cat is cute
World star is said when there's a fight going on
“We’ve strayed too far”
Originated during the vine days
ffs, sometimes I have to scroll a whole page to understand the meaning of UDictionary description
will probably figure it myself cuz I was thinking something entirely different
this
two ppl fighting you pull out ur phone and scream world star
if ur in canada then you scream 6ixbuzz 😹
not just your phone and a fight lol
also if someone loses a bra & shirt and you whip out your phone
My hometown has an urban dictionary definition and it's brutal af
there's one about the town that's from my state and it's kinda funny
i found it when i was looking at names on ud one evening out of pure boredom
Mine's:
gandalf?
Nah Alexander the Great/Iskander in Fate
(They made him huge af than he prolly actually was)
honestly, this description. I kinda understood it, but still had to read the whole page to be sure I understood it. They do get a kick from writing this, lmao
Best servant
He is too normie for a War of Grail
found it, just had to double check it didn't have anything bad in it
not as good as i remember it being
There is a superb amount of hills, which is not good as it doubles the time for 7 cars to drive by you and serenade you with 99 rap
yee
they call it Dr Dre not because of the rap, but the sound of a car going uphill
I said best servant not best master
Did you not watch fate zero or
Bruh
You need to dirty your hands to win a War of Grail. The way he was in Fate he was bound to die to more underhand tricks
And he knew that
It doesn't make him a good servant in terms of War of Grail. Even Arturia was more devious than him
Why do you care so much about my opinion anyway
I liked him and waiver as a character so what
Tbh, his real-life counterpart was devious enough. You don't get poisoned by a wife by being a nice person
Well, to answer this, I spent a lot of time playing mafia-like game in the world of Fate, so it's a bit of a habit to discuss strong and weak sides of Servants, since we had to RP them
The way to win the game was to find a player who is out of character, because that was the main indicator of them being mafia, since they had to have three out of character traits according to the rules
Well, I don't say he is a bad person, quite the opposite, he is the most likable servant
Even with the grail giving them info about the world he still doesn't know how shit works
I liked him and waiver the most
2nd is kiritsugoat
The good thing about Fate Zero is that all characters are grey in terms of characterization. Makes them deeper. Kiritsugu was far from a saint. But also likable.
who pinged
thing is though big groups only care if they deal with advertisers/public image (also can't help singling out westerners considering their massive cultural impact, especially online, where most successful businesses are made and run by them)
examples: when reddit got too big, when discord got too big, when youtube got too big
the censorship on speech is up and up
I don't blame this server or it's moderators, since they gotta deal with a bunch of idiot teens and idiot discord TOS
so it's pretty much expected
but it still bothers me
I dunno, and I never tried eastern humour here so Idk what y'all reactions would be
I'm sure it wouldn't go down well though
we are pretty crude in that regard
this is literally the first time that I have said that phrase
also, y'all don't get Kvit at all!
he said he would respect the rules, he was fine with it, the reason he left is due to pent up frustration and some other personal reasons that you can't hope to grasp, so stop making him so shallow will ya
Censorship is not a bad thing. It lets people moderate themselves. Surely censoring a hundred words out of hundred thousand doesn't make a dent in our ability to express things
I don't like censorship, but it becomes necessary with more ppl involved
you can be an ass without using censored words
you can talk about things without using censored words
smaller communities self-regulate so there's no need for rules like that (by smaller communities I mean friend groups, smaller social gatherings etc)
bigger communities take this censorship approach
but that isn't my issue here, it was never about the fact that censorship exists, but about how it is approached
ok I lied, I don't like censorship period.
I don't like how it is approached either
I especially despise the SJW culture that's prevalent in the west
you see more white people reprimanding other white people about what is and isn't allowed to say regardless of context or social setting
here in Europe it's normal to make fun of each other and even use stereotyopes
ever heard of the "A german, a pole, and a russian fly a balloon...." type of jokes? like damn, I can't even say that in the west cuz they will label me racist, xenophobe, asshole, and what else
context doesn't matter, social background doesn't matter, culture doesn't matter
everything online has to conform to western standards
and the biggest influencer of that in the west are the United States
Dude, Europe is the west
ok let me correct that to east europe then /shrug
Eastern Europe is mostly Western too with a gimmick here and there. Our societies are run by Western ideologies. Ppl grow up on Western culture, study by Western standards and work by Western standards.
Most of the materials that influence us are produced by Western ppl or influenced by Western ppl. Mostly because power centers were Western for hundreds of years in Europe
the degree of influence varies between countries
countries like France or the US try to be more PC, while the eastern europe don't care
ideologies also differ, and so do family structures
Russia is still 16th century Russia
Poland is like the dividing point I would say, which is weird, we have influence from both east and the west
It's not weird, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Balkans were a natural geographical demarcation line historically
not weird as in circumstances, but weird as in the line between influences gets blurred
and just fyi, while I don't like the things that I talked about here, I still think they're somewhat necessary (the censorship)
so don't bother with preaching to me about rules and following them and whatever
I get it
No, you misunderstood. I don't care about the rules, they change every so often. I preach that you are mostly a Westerner and it's counterproductive to think otherwise. In most places outside of Europe you would be considered a Western person. Look for example at Witcher. It has a lot of eastern European cultural influence, but ppl would call it a Western game
my bad, I should've specified I wasn't speaking just to you here
that point was a separate issue I have with others here who feel the need to constantly talk about rules to me when that isn't the point I'm making
what a weird moment to stumble in the anime channel
Honestly, it's not very noticeable to me in the way you describe it. You could say that's because I am a product of this system of beliefs, but so are you.
Hey, Geo. Don't stumble, it's a bit rocky down here
I love the pun used here
Idk, people can reliably tell I look Polish irl
maybe the way I dress and express myself could be influenced by the west, but that's mostly because I spend 90% of my time online (which isn't good, but don't care)
The Witcher is a nice example, it's only the 3rd game that got international attention, and I think the game design and presentation pretty much pulled 90% of the weight here
but The Witcher 3 was, from the start, made with the intention to appeal to international audience
do you swear a lot
All the Poles I met usually do and have the whole adidas look going on
not really
that gives swear words more punch when I say them though, all about that contrast baby 😎
no hate I also have a lot of adidas stuff
I am talking about a slightly wider world. I doubt ppl will identify you as polish in Egypt, Emirates, Japan, China, Brazil

yeah cuz they don't even know Poland exists there
ouch
Some of them will know about Poland. But when you say doesn't exist in reality means the cultural influence is negligible
yeah
yea I'm also an adidas guy, but the past few years have changed this
now I can literally buy female clothes if they look good and not be bothered by categorisation
if you are Balkan like me you get mixed up pretty much with the whole soup of the region
call me gay but holy fuck gay guys know how to dress well
and people have no idea where tf our countries usually are
except Turkey I guess
that is so true, I'm still confused about balkan countries
Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 would also be considered Western, because the fingerprint is mostly western
which balkan country are you from?
Turkish ppl know where you from because there is money for them in it
Not a bad approach tbh
Tbh, I would leave the cultural differences alone if they were not the most stupidest reason for ppl to misunderstand each other. I like diversity of thought, but I hate misunderstanding. Ppl still fight wars because of these sorts of misunderstanding (I mostly imply religiously and ideologically driven wars)
war is an extension of politics though, the only people who gain from the war are the ones at the top
you don't fight war if you don't get a benefit from it (from the ruling class point of view)
crusades for example were about money and political influence for the Pope
That's a fake idea. War existed before any politics. Ppl would wage war on those who are totally unknown to them, and sometimes when they met for the first time
for personal gain
a justification is just that, a justification
so I disagree with you here
Ppl in power just leverage the inherent differences and frictions. Ofc, when ppl understand that these differences are a powerful tool to gain power they would use it. Divide and conquer
It's similar to wealth. You gain wealth by exploiting existing differences: differences in pricing, differences in supply and demand, differences in market sentiment(futures and stocks). These differences are inherent and existed there long before ppl understood them and started making advantage of it to gain wealth. Power is a similar resourse
The same with ideological and cultural differences. It's easier to gain power by exploiting differences between ppl, so it became a tool, but it was there from the beginning. And the only way to remove this tool is to reduce differences, reduce misunderstanding
yea I never said they don't
hold on, so if the idea of ruling class declaring war to gain power (or whatever else) is fake in your opinion, then why are you saying this?
also, politics have always existed where humans have existed
I'm not sure if we understand the concept in the same way here
"war is extension of politics" implies that politics come before wars, which is not always true.
That's why it's a fake idea
Ok. Let me ask you this. There is a tribe of ancient humans. They are under threat of being driven away by a pride of saber-toothed tigers. So humans attack and exterminate tigers. Is this a war or not? Are there any politics?
that's not what it implies at all though? for there to be an extension of something it first needs to exists, in this case politics came before war (and this is true)
Ok, answer the question, it's likely we have a different understanding of what is war and what is politics
So how hard do long nails/manicures in female character designs go for you? @next crescent @edgy bone
yeah, for example the tribe chief hoped to gain more favor by improving living conditions of his people, or maybe one of the members hopes to obtain merit by leading a hunting team to fight saber tooth tigers
this is also politics
as for war, I don't know
considering Australia had a war against goats 🤔
Would it be a war if it were 2 human tribes, not humans and tigers? All the reasons and goals are the same
we look at ants who fight with each other and call it ant war or something which is interesting
I honestly haven't formed a concrete opinion on what a war is exactly, but I'm leaning more towards group vs group type of thing when it comes to describing it
Because it is. War is an act of widespread hostilities for a side of war to gain an advantageous outcome.
Ik u didn't ask me, but as a guy I never liked decorated nails, they just hit different Idk 😭
then maybe a more accurate statement would be "war is often treated as an extension of politics in human society" which is definitely true from my pov
In my terminology wars exist where there is not enough room for sentience, let alone politics
I agree with that, but that's quite a different statement.
you may think it's different, but I was talking about human society to begin with
so I'm not sure why you're getting hung up on this
I don't really like the original statement. The original idea was that conflicts can be resolved by politics before fighting is necessary. That's all good, but it implies that we already have all the necessary tools to do that, which is not true
It comes from the same school of thought that Cannons is the last argument of kings, which is a presumptuous thought imo
And it presumes that when it comes to blows, that all other options were exhausted, which is by no means true.
The original idea was that conflicts can be resolved by politics before fighting is necessary.
this is a bit of an oxymoron considering fighting itself is also a tool that can be used to further your own political goals, also I never said this
anyway I don't wanna drag this topic on any longer
You never said it, but it was said before you
😠
sorry 😔

😃
thgis is anime-adjacent right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNXPR1qeitc&t=2799s
This stream was a blast! Vedal offered a reasonable excuse for disappearing for four days, unveiled an exciting, jam-packed schedule, and shared hilarious, and sometimes deep, interactions with Neuro. Additionally, Vedal tested Neuro to see if she's ready for sponsored streams... which didn't go too well.
Watch Neuro & Vedal live on https://www...
Vtuber talk falls under here, so yes
Anyway, I was persistent mainly because I am interested in a topic of eradicating wars. It's quite an unsolvable problem, but it should have a solution, because we have examples of wars being eradicated on a local scale for a prolonged periods of time
I do not like long nails
Both looking at anime/illustrations and real life
It looks wicked uncomfortable and my head just gets flooded with how much harder it is to do normal day-to-day stuff with them and it annoys me
Plus the constant clacking sound of hearing them hit one another is annoying
Well, manicure is pretty fine though.
It's both a fun thing to do and a fun thing to have
Oh I don't doubt some people have fun wearing them and it makes them feel pretty
I just personally never liked long nails
And sometimes it can be too distracting to my brain and my focus is just solely on someone's nails and not them/their voice when they're speaking to me if they're big or bright enough
Almost like a gross reaction to them
Idk how else to explain 😭
I have nothing against people who have them though
You don't need long nails for a manicure though? You can have just a slightly longer nails, like 1.5 mms and it won't make a difference compared to clipped nails
Yeah you don't, but around here most people get a manicure to get longer nails
Like their nails are trimmed and then the application of the fake nail goes on and whatever extra stuff they add
Plus the question was about long nails
Not short manicures
i dislike long nails
they look very impractical
not worth it
They are very impractical
I had a coworker who always wore long nails and when she got hired she had to rethink how to use the registers because she couldn't with the nails
For how much we use our hands it seems very annoying to try and keep long ones looking nice, but some people will gladly go through the effort lol
wow
I thought I was alone in this
there was one time last year where I literally did not have time to even bite my nails cuz my hands were constantly in motion
quickly found out how annoying it is when they grow even 2 milimeters out
can't imagine long nails like those that women get for themselves
Yeah lol
Imagine going insane using a manicure and smartphone

I don't wanna, I use my fingertips and not the pads of my fingers 😭
and on that note
I can't stand nail clippers
it's just more convenient to bite
sorry to all the ladies who look at my hands

I also can't imagine biting your nails
Especially until really short
It must hurt
Oh
I only bite the white stuff off
this reminds me of 'i did a thing'
have u seen his hands?
Blehh
Serbia not to be confused with Siberia
nail reveal
hmmm
this is a random thought, but taking into account all that happened I surprisingly feel comfortable expressing my own opinions here (this is very rare), so thx for being cool people
ur welcome ig?
as long as people follow the rules here then all is fine
do as the romans type shit
I mean more the attitude during discussion
all I remember from backreading is the balkans subreddit you mentioned and I have zero clue what that is
my friends in other communities would probably know it tho since I'm usually out of the loop
oh it was fire
I never saw it personally (it's now banned anyway)
watched a cool video about balkan culture recently, it talked about the subreddit for a while
shoutout to @edgy bone for exposing me
i only know that one yt channel
outside of that im not particularly well documented on the matter
other than my own personal experience ig
ye I wouldn't know anything either
Whoa my stickers are big again
It's the party of her lifetime
true true
heavenly delusions, land of the lustrous, silent voice, and uhh for a comedy I guess (since this is all heavy stuff) Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Acchi Kocchi to feel cute for a day 🤔
https://myanimelist.net/character/41401/Coco hey I didn't know they made an anime about you coco
it ended months ago lol
ohhh ok
you know, I was going to read it but then I saw the memes on reddit and was quickly dissuaded
ending was ok I still think the whole 10k years part was the highest pinnacle the manga ever achieved
😔
"see you in 10000 years"
yeah that's the meme I saw
also this
the implications @shadow knot
so true
No way it's me
spanish or brazilian?
Look closely at her cleavage
whar 💀
its a win win
aniwave down wtf
Oh so this is why jjk worldwide trending
Honestly kinda unfortunate, cuz I enjoyed the first 3-5 chapters, but the story/characters went out of focus since then and I didn't continue reading afterwards
I hope the mangaka gets another chance in the future to pace themselves cuz they have the potential imo
