Didn't even read the synopsis but by chapter 7 I think the basic gist of story is that in far dystopian future a great plague killed many people and we ran into living in many iron concrete cages and by the time plague went down everyone was already used to building and from there due to low population post apocalypsis we made "synthetic life" how they call and since main character is trying to find the before plague sample I assume the said illness affects fertility rate or smth
