everything else outside of that felt either like chinese knockoff one piece or generic isekai based on an old jrpg type of setting (which i didn't find interesting)

I could kinda tell the author didnt have a whole lot planned past the original premise and had to start experimenting with other ideas to see what sticks

yeah, the fact that her current party is pretty much standardized collection of characters doesn't serve the story that well. The red haired boy is your average shonen Joe. The purple haired girl is your average tsundere. I already forgot their names. It would be ok, if their interactions were meaningful, but their party inner workings are also pretty much standardized, when it doesn't involve Frieren shenanigans

Comparing that to Dungeon Meshi (where everything is standardized, besides party interactions), I would personally choose to eat a lunch in a dungeon rather than contemplate the eternity

we will see. It's just the usual malaise of this type of characters. As soon as the MC overcomes the issues with wielding the power, their growth halts to nothing mostly (like it happened in MHA)

I mean, depending on the implementation, this is actually the only thing that action manga tends to devolve into (meeting artificially stronger enemies and finding sources to become somehow stronger), which gets old soon. And by artificially I mean that their appearence feels artificially crafted by an author. While powers with inherent disadvantages tend to balance itself pretty well without much artificial additions

I think I figured out what's the main issue in Frieren. All characters are basically introverts. Including Stark (remember that he spent the whole Magical Test Arc in the forest meditating, and literally nothing happened to him).
