Just almost got run over by a train lol
Hauling coal
Big boy
Jojo part 7 is un-ironic peak manga tho
Hmm i should read the manga then
Might sound like broken record but it does deserve the praise
Gay af too
Part 7 especially
Both guys did have female partners canonically tho lol
I do know jolene
Me and my bestie (not gay)
Baki is however so gay it's unreal
Yujiro Hanma just has SOOOO much testosterone EVERYONE for him is a woman
He literally just is that guy
Is it gay?
Gayest straight men I've ever seen
In a funny way
It starts off as regular martial arts
To Yujiro? Not really
Than Baki goes un-ironically schizophrenical
So imagine
You want to spar with someone STRONG right?
What are some strong guys?
Baki thought that Praying Mantis is pretty awesome yeah
So he imagined a 2 meter tall, composed of air, praying mantis
And started beating the shit out of it
And got actual damage from his strong imagination
He imagined it sooo good that mantis projection held him in the air
Also he beats anyone who cares enough to challenge him
Baki, a world class fighter, spanking a 10 year old kid SO HARD he flew across the river is so fucking funny
The power of imagination in Baki is so strong he can imagine he is a triceratops and the other people around him will see him as that
He imagined 4 different dinosaurs, and made a stance that combined all of them in one
While Yujiro just took the stance of strongest animal there is, Yujiro
He stopped a fucking earthquake by a single punch
Silliest funniest and most unserious fighting martial arts anime ever
But it does have some little seriousness to it when describing a real life technique for example
TL;DR Baki is silly and funny and GOOFY
I actually share the birthday with Goofy, the Disney character lol
I'm heading out to the theater now
Gldd
lmao
didnt he get his ass kicked in later tho
was olivia right?
Idk never watched it
I watched out of context Baki vids and a dude started pissing on baki

damn
too bad i already binged all of it
we could have done a baki watchalong with the whole squad
Writer just does it sometimes
It's his shtick
How about the one where Baki himself pisses on a dude
I can remember like 3 instances of that happening
All for some sort of "humiliation" ofc
theres a lot of pissing in baki
I mean in anime only
Well, try stopping him
🤣
Baki is like surprisingly short
And abs abs abs
@ionic schooner Baki is 168 cms btw
So we need a shorter bodybuilder
He is the height of regular Japanese male
Which is weird
All children of Yujiro should've been at least 2 meters
i think that's part of the appeal
Even tho it says Yujiro is 190cms I just don't buy it, he has been depicted as MUCH taller
Even when he was 13 he was a crazy dude
Watched like the old show?
I did
Bro jumped off the cliff to awaken endorphins or some shit
Do I gotta watch the old one to watch the new one
Fought a 4 meter tall hundreds year old gorilla too
it's like
At 13 mfing years
technically canon but
netflix did a decent job separating them so it's not a total requirement
it does add a lot of context tho
Nah not really, just some story bits
up to you on how much you care about story vs action scenes
Do they introduced the boys in new Baki?
Like first Retsu fight
no
Hell naw first Retsu fight was his first schizo
Could not be further from the truth
He is a manly man
The only solution to make him stop his rampage was to 180cms buff naked dude to approach him
His face is pretty
I am not joking by the way, bro smashed tanks till Yujiro's buddy decided to approach him like that
Also is it just me or name Pickle without context sounds so fucking surreal and funny
Yujiro's other son is pretty tall tho
What movie?
thats his half son tho
well
ig full son
but baki's half brother
is what i meant
Gundam Seed Freedom
Nice I'm seeing it tomorrow night
I got lucky that the closest theater next to me was playing the subbed one
Now all that's left for me is to wait about 1-2 years for the Gundam Urdr Hunt movie
Is that actually gonna happen?
Heard they were making it
I really just brought The Immortal Justice model kit to the movie
🎣
At least the spent "community" right, seen another the other day spell it "conmunmity"
Mice
what's that from
British English is not hard
"Never have I ever ingested water" I assume? Or something of sorts
i didn't know osaka simulator is a thing
The pinnacles of martial arts manga finally converge in a powerhouse anime collaboration!
The hugely popular martial arts manga series "Baki," published in Akita Shoten's "Weekly Shonen Champion" and written by Keisuke Itagaki, has sold over 85 million copies. It tells the stories of various fighters, centered on the epic life-and-death clash b...
PEAK ALERT
GEM INCOMING
10/10 GRADE BEFORE EVEN WATCHING GUARANTEED
Mfing Jack, Baki AND HANAYAMA? Shit about to be hype fr
I expect it to be incredible fucking stupid and flashy, hopefully Baki will be a bigger influence
Also opening sounds interesting, I wonder if they gonna make a special OST or two
if they don't actually fight, i'm outta there
I mean they are going at it in trailer
when season 2 dropping, or is it out already?
I think it's coming in summer season
Yuh it's summer
Probably the theatre arc
Pretty gas stuff
Some nice character development for Melt or however his name is
All in all good arc
But current arc is amazing with all the drama around uuuuh
Certain few scenes
It's in it's final arc for sure
Damn konosuba is funny, never before have I seen a minute of awkward silence and laughed
Another chapter, another proof that Akane is way better girl than Kana
Arima CUCKna
Stocks all time low
They should make a couple and let Ruby do her thing :p
That sounds like a perfect disaster
This was so obvious the moment they mentioned it in this episode of konosuba but damn
Shy Kazuma sounds so weird but so cute
XD what a fucking goofball
iris trauma
I actually pulled my hair from this dumbass not realising this sooner
it was so obvious man
(light novel reader)
Maybe dying affects your memory a little I suppose
nah hes just stupid
Yeah that too
Shit is fella funny though
So thanks for being a dumbass Kazuma
"Yes yes I am Kazuma" can be heard in the distance
brainrot
If you could pick any anime to get a proper sequel/revival after so long, what would be your top picks?
The one with the sleepy princess in the demon castle
@topaz linden knows
😤😤😤
Hmmm idk
That one seems pretty recent
I feel like that one ended on a pretty good note tbh
BUT IT INTRODUCED A BUNCH OF STUFF
AND THEN ENDED
Oh damn
That's old old
yee, but the story was never really that story-focused lol. It was kinda just an aside
😔
I might actually read the manga ngl
I have it, it's pretty nice c:
Berserk
seven deadly sins
nanatsu no taizai
yall watch sds??
seven deadly sins has a sequel
but it's manga only
(also it doesnt really have the same charm as the original)
up until s2 only
i refuse to acknowledge s3 and whatever's next
i stopped watching sds
i looked forward to ||escanor vs meliodas|| ever since i saw it in the manga
because idk what the fuck that age gap is, what the hell
it was a fucking let down
I want to see Psyren adapted
and the manga get a proper ending
it is so 2010 energy it's unreal
probably because that's when it was written
yep
anime community is doomed
ah
fucking stupid auto censor can't talk about shit here
mahoako 7.8/10
mato seihei no slave 6.8/10
they're literally the same sort of horny bait trash 😭
the more i exist the more i realise people don't know what the shit they're talking about
Some girls prolly have bigger tits or smth
lmaoooo
Not like it matters anyways
maybe
The leaked chapter of JJK sure is something
I know that "going against reader's expectations" is liked by some but doing literally everything to spite your own fan base is just stupid
|| Imagine the interaction between Choso and Todo haha so cute too bad Choso been gone for years, only for Todo to COME BACK AND CHOSO TO DIE? God this is some proper rubbish||
There's someone else leaking manga chapters? 😭
?
leaks never stopped
how do you think scanlations get made
(also new one piece chapter just dropped)
Yeah, every Thursday
Before Thursday is just memes
Bruh
I assumed scanlations happened after the release of the chapter
But man I am so fucking disappointed how Gege just NEVER developed characters beyond mfing first few arcs
Man is allergic to character interactions
there would be no demand if that were the case
we get simulreleases with japan now from official sources
scanlation is before the official release
John Werry is also a horrible fucking translator so scanlators from leaks are preferable too
If we listen to official translation Gojo can't use black flash which is just straight misinformation lol
The official translation guy literally uses google translate or MAYBE in better case deepl
(I think thats misinformation)
I mean it sure feels like it
Nobody knows for granted
But god the official translation sucks
Literally ||killing Yuji's bro just to introduce another one in the chapter is just such a shitty way to reintroduce Todo||
GOD FORBID readers get something satisfying
Who the fuck is John werry
Official translation guy for JJK in shonen jump
Ohh
I feel like if the official is so bad, there'd still be demand
it depends from series to series
but yea theres people that dont like the officials
it's the same with one piece
there was a big drama around when the previous scanlation groups went under a few years ago
All I know is the majority of the webtoons and manhwas I read are fan/unofficial translations done after the chapters have gone live so I assumed it was the same for mangas
it's different cuz those are digital uploads
manga is still sold physically
unfortunately
Sukuna can read Yuji's mind btw now somehow
I've only heard of the drama when one manga kept getting leaked ahead of time and people were pissed and demanded the mangaka be respected for his work
Can't remember which one though
Since fucking when that was a thing Gege?
I dont think anyone here reads jjk so youre kinda talking to yourself
I am just ranting this shit so ass
Never seen an author hate his own characters as much as Gege Akutami does
Jjk is kind of bad now
Shibuya arc truly was peak JJK
it's funny cuz that's when i dropped it
and ive heard multiple people say it only got worse from there
i dont know if im ever picking it back up
The only thing I liked AFTER Shibuya is few curious abilities
But god knows if we had more character introductions like Higuruma had manga would be much better
Like Takaba is on some real shit
(I didnt care enough to remember any character names so idk what youre talking about)
Literally "I think this is funny" and this rewriting the rules of literal existence is awesome
Dope ass ability
He can think that Anvil dropping on Gojo and killing him would be funny and it will happen
Lawyer and comedian guys
You mean the manga btw?
As it was coming out?
Because if so I have a fun fact
nah
Dang
after season 1 of the anime i wanted to catch up so i binged it
didnt enjoy it so i dropped it after a while
everyone was saying how shibuya was the best arc so i read until then just to see
last chapter i read i think was when they explained the rules of that game in the arc following it
Remember the guy with teleportation?
Todo
vaguely
He wasn't even mentioned once for 4 years and just came back into the story
Literally NO reason why if he was able bodied he still avoided whole fucking arcs
Can't remember LESS satisfying return tbh
Anyone knows of characters returns being just "Not it"?
i mean
one piece has a whole thing with fakeout deaths
people generally dont like when that happens
No no no he wasn't assumed dead
Just not mentioned
Ever
Also making beloved character return but killing another beloved character in return in THE SAME CHAPTER? Fucking crazy
Frieren only have manga?
I meant anime only source is manga?
Anyone using anime planet here? Howd we set if we only want Manhwa from certain yr ex. 2023
Dunno, using Mihon (app) you just add any number of manga hosting platforms you want and read it uninterrupted AND without ads
Very handy app, can add even NSFW hosting websites lol
Mahoako??? What's the full name of it?
you dont need to apologize
It's a joke, i tagged you when i was writing and then untagged you, tagging you is a joke
Great, now the joke becomes unfunny (or maybe it's unfunny from the beginning)
this is what happens when you let maidenless horny addicts vote
this is why democracy sucks
sorry for the ghost ping, another auto censor
Every single politics system sucks, revert back to zero and rebuild
Besides hungary.
Vote for what?
just don't let stupid people vote innit
well, public ratings are usually supposed represent the general quality and appeal of a thing (anime, movie, tv show, books etc)
I found the public average ratings to be mostly accurate before
but now i see i was stupid to rely on them
well no, that's not quite true
you can still mostly rely on them, a higher rated series will generally have more to offer
they're not supposed to represent anything
it's just what people like
any value you attribute to them is your interpretation
you know what i mean i dont want to argue semantics
Yo cavemen, rating for what?
and yet I can still guesstimate why and how something could be so adored even if I don't personally like it
I know you like to act like quality standard (whatever that means) does not exist, but let's be real here, it does exist, and it's kinda sorta reliant on a lot of factors (in other words the quality changes depending on stuff, or in other words the public's perception of what is "good" changes) including country cultures, balances of power, the general mentality that a society shares, temporary events like pandemics or wars, over-saturation of the market, current trendy topics, and a plethora of other things
anime ratings
anyway I'm of the opinion that the public is the best representation of what a neurotypical brain finds to be most appealing, and drawing from that you can establish common ground for what is considered good, better, or worse
this is mainly where I'm coming from with judging public, averaged user ratings
i wouldnt call that a standand if it's so volatile
it's kinda supposed to be volatile
imagine if we still wrote novels like the greeks
if we became complacent we would stop innovating
sure but if it changes so often why put so much value in it
i just dont get the obsession
Because it feels good when others reaffirm your tastes prolly
People don't often enjoy being the outlier in a conversation
Nobody wants to be this guy
A lot of people enjoy being that guy tbh
Hating something just cause it's popular is pretty common
Contrarians are as stupid as those who just agree with everything
They just don't want to be "like sheeple" and think of themselves above "regular" people
But once in a blue moon you can find a valid critic
Like many long running series have a fuck load of plot holes etc but people will still love it for what it is
You can see valid criticism almost everywhere if you look hard enough in the see of blind haters
And then there's people who like stuff contratrians dislike just to spite the contrarians
It's contrarians all the way down
social conformism and all that, can't deny, it feels good when other people like the same thing you do for the same reasons
Tribalism will never die
surely they're just salty that something they don't understand got so much acclaim
surely

Yeah no shame in that some people just really think they are "so unique and special" (they are living in their own world where are not some sort of outcast but just misunderstood)
I got plenty of unfiltered dogshit opinions dw
I just don't care for my image on internet
I am a literal nobody here and none of you will remember me if I go away for 3 days or less lmao
Code Geass is terrible and Lelouch sucks as character
looool I agree (dropped after like 5 eps, don't really care tbh)
Also stadium massacre is one the worst ass pulls in fiction
Literal piano in the bush
what's that
Like when he awakened the other eye?
Felt like the kind of thing a writer who wrote themselves into a corner would use to get out of it lol
I was expecting flawless 10/10
Mfw it got flaws D:
My friend really overhyped it for me
@tidal shore some more dogshit: FMAB is not THAT good and original is leagues above it actually
Also Tokyo Revengers wasn't ass just in the end but in the beginning too
epic
Tbh, I dislike most old (pre-2010s) anime... so Code Geass being flawed didnt surprise me that much lol
That said, I do still feel it's one of the ones that's held up a bit better over the years than other shows from that era
Wouldnt say its an incredible one, but it still passes as "acceptable" for me
2007
Not my thing personally. But shonen and mecha are my least favorite genres, so that's to be expected
It's power of friendship and bros dialed to the MAXIMUM
It's indomitable human will winning over aliens
Purest hype and emotions there is or ever was
Yeeee... not my thing lol
Damn bro you got no friends or smth?
Got no bros?
...yeah?
I have no idea how can someone watch TTGL and see ||Kamina die|| and feel nothin
I have them
You gotta be into some real somber shit if you can't feel the pure hype of friendship
Just feels like those old 80s action movies where the emotions are so over the top its hard to take serious
Flash Gordon kinda energy
i didnt care about the moment of him dying (other than the shock factor), but i liked what it did for the plot
It was fucking amazing, it really came out of the blue
I don't think anyone was expecting HIM to die of all people
depends on what you count as friends
I got high criterias, but acquittances count too ig
does it require irl physical meetings?
if yes then I did find my first friend since, idk, 2012? we met in NL and worked from the same hotel, he lives on the other side of the country though, so lost that now
For me yes it does require meeting up
There is nothing quite like sharing a beer with your buddy on a empty football field in the middle of a night
no, I haven't had friends since 2012
until recently
PEAK male teenage experience
there's this one LoL player I keep in touch with since 2014 if that counts
but only online
I already know who will be the god father and god mother to my children ngl
If I ofc live to have fhem
I didnt read the full mesasge before commenting my bad
Ifgaf about online people tho they all be lying and shit because they can be anonymous
Hard pass on the alcohol part lol
Drinking/drunk people is a hard no for me
It's not about getting drunk it's about the conversations you have
I get where you're coming from, for me though discord was the only way of communication, and I've had genuinely touching moments with the online folk thanks to it, some of them I've known for a few years now
A person free any burden and shame expressing his heart and soul to you is incredible
true
unforgettable moments
if you drink
maybe even if u dont
idk how teenage culture works, that part of life missed me
I had nerd friends as a teen, so it was all nerd hangout shit for me lol
LAN parties and whatnot
sounds cool
Eh, my friends had... issues
Small town tho, so I couldnt be picky with a nerd population in the single digits
Oh my friends were horrible people I cut them off
Still love the experiences we had sometimes
yeah peak life situation
only
you need to be sure the people you hang out with are your friends
else you will get burned
I feel like it's pretty easy to make friends through work
That's how I got most of my friends
Because you experienced something together
Even if that's something is work
Also some jobs attract certain types of people who have some likekyhood to be similar
this is essentially it
also why being a regular at some 3rd place pays off
Bartender were made for conversations, annoy them
Cool
all friendship is when you break it down is being together with another person for extended periods of time on a regular basis doing some sort of shared activity
yeah you can look at it like that
sharing time, having a good time together, generally the good times outweighing the bad times
ahh this is related somewhat

recently Max Joseph started releasing the video series regarding happiness, and relationships sem to be very tightly linked with this
Yes and it's beautiful
Don't even tryna act like sharing a struggle with someone doesn't make it easier to bear with
Sharing happiness is too very popular nowadays
Like sending memes you laughed at
i never said otherwise
I think he meant how people generally view topics like this, not you
People on internet are hella grumpy after all
Because in real life rarely will you see someone being all like "Hur dur life sucks I wish I was sitting hime eating nachos"
Wouldn't call some of my coworkers friends when I dislike doing exactly that with them
Coworker doesn't make them automatically a friend
it doesnt always work
but when it works that's basically the pattern
yes.
Thats one hot take
So let me add mine
jobless reincarnation is flaming dumpster trash
:3

So i have this friend, he talked to this guy 4 years older than him that called his anime taste normie shit - jojo, haikyuu, jjk, fmab (he weirdly said this was obscure), uzumaki. While most of it was true, my friend in turn asked what that guy watched recently, he said frieren. BRUH
Sounds like they watch whatever's popular at the time lol
In which case, Frieren isn't that surprising
Was def one of the most popular shows last season
Hey girls, i want to ask, if you have a partner and someone else likes your partner but wants to get rid of the feeling, would you go to them and say "treasure your feelings"? (This is an anime/manga reference, but i won't tell the name of it, try to guess it)
how is that a hot take
There is a fuck load of people hating main character that's not a hot take
hating rudeus is common, hating the show itself may seem like a hot take to the poster but it really depends on the circle you’re in
guess I'll share a hot take too
SAO did it better than Solo Leveling in just about every aspect (comparing anime only)
Both be pretty trashy power fantasy so maybe you are right lol
well
a lot of it due to the fact that A1 fucked up with the adaptation
but I wouldn't call sao trashy
still does isekai better than 99% of what's out there
I would lol
Yeah it's a dumpster of a genre
Worst of the worst anime is likely to be an isekai imo
I feel like it'd be an interesting genre if the default wasn't DND style power fantasy
It's about execution
Although there's still quite a few good ones too
It is, but I feel like some are limited themselves by not exploring further into "transported to a new world" trope
the default is make it slice of life
That's not a problem with classic elf/dwarfs/orcs setting, that's problem with shit writing in anime
So just life in medieval Europe?
Unless you are not human
- u get bitches
When do I get my bitches
I'd like to see isekai or vr isekai tackle similar themes to what sao did
Trapped in a video game with no escape except for death?
no
Oh
AI becoming human, using VR as a means of living for the disabled
Ooohhh
etc
I actually
There's a webtoon I've been reading and one of the characters is that
She's disabled and hospitalized and uses a vr game to escape her reality
But she's a side character not an mc
there are epic themes buried there beneath all the "hurr durr harem hurr durr writer can't write women"
And she's in like... Episode 200 😭
I am not watching a 199 episodes of slop for 1 good idea
fair enough
It's not the most well written thing in the world imo
But the story is still entertaining and I do like some of the themes they explore in it
Having a few good concepts for a story doesn't make it good if you can't execute them well
Including the hospitalized girl using vr to escape her reality and the effects of severe bullying and harassment
581 chapters wtf
I started it when there was only about 80 😭
Tough
How
i sleep
I dislike waiting so it's tough
Like damn I regret getting into MiA because maaaaan
The chapters are taking AGES to come out
Wish I discovered it later
and here I am wishing to find a few cool comics to follow so I have something to look forward to every day
why sad?
it's not like my life is so arse that i need copium in the form of weekly comics yk
That's a hell of a tagline in the embed lol
Sorry then
implications babyyyy 😎 🤘
Only the best in my feed
Dang ive only met those worshipping the show
hey, pretty sure I've criticised it here quite a few times already
and you might've been here during that time
Nah hating Rudeus is valid as fuck even tho I love the world and the characters besides him
He always just gets a slap on a wrist at most for his dirty deeds
One on hand I like flawed characters but on other hand he should get punished at least sometimes
I just hate the "Goody two shoes" characters
Flat as a fucking board and as deep as kiddie pool
I want good guys to do fucked up shit too
watch redo of healer then lmaoooo
There were no "good" guys
I didn't cheer for anyone ngl, nor was I interested in characters to watch beyond 3 or so episodes
ahh
come to think of it
you did mention some gambling manga or whatever
guess you'd like GTO and One Outs then?
Maybe, haven't given those a try
The thing I enjoy watching the most is misery and mental illness
Ame chan my beloved
One Outs is also gambler manga
GTO is a wholesome deliquent teacher manga
I say wholesome but
he beats up his students in like the first few chapters lmao
they're all delinquents
It's not about like the "gambling" part that attracts me but the mind games and thrill
yeah it's that
I wouldn't give a fuck if Usogui was just about playing regular ass labyrinth
tru
Labyrinth was probably my first surprise in Usogui from which it hooked me in
The stakes being "A day out of your life, any day"
You just have to tell about what went on that day, can win a million just like that
The thing is, if you lose, that day you told about gets used as to frame you for some unresolved police case like murder/robbery etc
I was like 🤯🤯🤯
Yeah and main character was stripped of his smarter stronger friends too
Bro had to think on his own too, probably the arc that launched me into loving this Manga
Funny
Exactlyyyy
Also like the world building is amazing but i was NOT even slightly satisfied in s2 for that ;^;
Like this was one of the shows that i sticked around for the world only to get sniped with the opposite xd
I usually stick around for characters and their story b t w
The world is good and Rudeus is a bitchass
rudeus has three wives so its no wonder
I was really disappointed when I found out about that too
roxy and sylphie are okay
As a big fan of monogamy it was 😦
but the fact that eris is literal rudeus cousin and that they did the deed concerns me
i was mostly rooting for rudeus and sylphy to be monogamy as well
Aren't they more so from same royal clan?
He doesn't have direct ties to her like a shared grandmother/grandfather
Right?
plot
also eris's mom weirded me the fuck out
She a cougar duh
oh makes sense
Not that weird some older women do be like that
She wasn't crazy weird about Rudeus imo
It's more so Rudeus being a sick mofo
Might be worth noticing that Eris and Rudeus have the same grand-grand father (Boreas Greyrat)
At which point I think it's legal to marry even irl lol
at least he matured in season 2
also i still hate sara till this very day
Underwear shrine really wasn't it
I don't fw it
Still enjoyable watch tho, great anime
and a masterpiece too
I like it very much biggest downside is just Rudeus being a creep at times
Without that part that would be an easy recommendation for even like first watch or smth
I finally catching up with Dungeon Meshi at the right time, because ||Izutsumi is here!!||
Also the fan service is top tier as usual
is the anime finished?
what the f
19/24 episodes it says
Gonna watch it fully when it comes out myself
You guys still on that mushoku tensei shit?
Also, are there any full pictures of it? Or is it on google too? (Asking the google question, otherwise a person might tell me that it's on google)
name a good isekai i dare you
Maybe GATE...? (I haven't watched it, but it looks good, unless it's ecchi type shit, then some people won't like it, but idc)
Sorry to ask this late, but does it have subtle romance or is it purely adventure?
i thought mushoku tensei is good
I already searched for it, it feels weird typing that on my google
Just now noticed "luke's mother" photo
zalm
looks interesting
hint: it's good because it has a story
i just liked the art and the teetee
agreed
Mostly adventure
Is there a reason frieren timeline based on himmel death?
based in what way?
whats ravencrafts about?
plot
I think it's because we always see fantasy stories where the group is on a mission to defeat the big bad, but Frieren shows what happens after that
Like what do the adventurers do after they've completed the ultimate mission?
nanatsu did it first
And especially when it's an elf who's obsessed with finding new, random magic and outlives all her comrades
Like Juca said, it's just the name of a Vtuber lol (Nerissa Ravencroft)
The only "plot" (besides the concept story every vtuber immediately forgets) is that she's down bad af
OH ITS VTUBERS
Nerissa and Shiorin are having a collab week thing where they're living with each other during it, so someone made fanart of a lot of the cute moments they had lol
what do you mean by this? is it about where and when the story happens in the anime?
I just googled Greyrat family tree
Image was taken from reddit or something
He is asking is there a lore explanation why the anime keeps counting years as after Himmel's death as opposed to regular calendars
oh that's a thing in the anime?
Like BCE and AD for Christians and stuff
Many scenes start with smth alike "10 years after Himmel's death, blah blah blah location"
Eh, maybe
I remember my bewilderment when I found out about calendars other than Gregorian
In like 7-8th grade lol
bruh
wait
that would be so insane
if the calendar just started with Himmel dying
that's basically elder scrolls calendar
not what i meant
i meant the concept of
this event is so significant that we're scrapping the current calendar count and starting over
the irl gregorian calendar was created after what it considers to be year 0 so it's not really the same thing
how did people count years before the calendars became institutionalised?
There wasn't always a count of vocal tradition
Not always was there a way to reliably record it either
Writing, more so paper, is a pretty new invention
in the past there wasn't that much value on recording things as there is now
thats why a lot of ancient history is still a mystery
Some cultures did track moon movements for example though
there's no record so we dont know
They didn't give a shit about what "year" it is tho
i wouldnt say always
Why and how?
He's Jesus
i doubt back in the tribal days anyone cared much about recording stuff
at most just oral tradition that was lost to time
Yeah it just is not a good way to record information
Other older ones are either irrelevant or forgotten
ever heard of Egyptian historians' records about the pyramids?
It was very very recently
egyptians are contemporary to the romans
p sure romans already had some form of calendar
and they had written records
Homo sapiens as species have much longer history than pyramids
that's not what i meant by ancient history
we can look at the most to old civilisations on how they recorded time
personally I'm really curious
that's not really the same thing as keeping detailed recordings of events
They just had like a calendar based on religion or smth mostly
But no calendar scratches even 1/10 of human history
tbh I can't conceive keeping recordings without having dates assigned to them
So ancient people really couldn't and didn't record stuff
Well just having a book say "Solomon is the father of Joshua" was probably proof enough in Babylon or something
Not everyone could read or write
Having a paper say something must've been crazy important
I see
Even now we have random papers we respect for some reason
Like licenses and stuff lol
Literally just "This guy is good at this thing" written on it
The history of writing traces the development of writing systems and how their use transformed and was transformed by different societies. The use of writing prefigures various social and psychological consequences associated with literacy and literary culture.
With each historical invention of writing, true writing systems were preceded by syst...
here ya go
have fun
Few years too late
what are you in the mood for
i don't know
have you read rosen garden
no
ok I think something low investment, something that's kinda goofy but still has characterisation, world building, and pretty good writing
rosen garden saga
read goofy as comedy
can u link
thx I'll try it out
but that's the best part
when you say low investment what do you have in mind
cuz most stuff i can think of is over 100 chapters
rosen peakten
kinda hard to think of something with world building that's short
(I have not read it)
spirit circle
its only 45 chapters
everything i can think of rn is either relatively long or not goofy
ig i dont really read that many short series
and/or lucifer and the biscuit hammer works too
both mizukami manga
65 chapters as well
Soloist in a cage?
It's just 20 chapters with pretty nice characters even if it's not really "goofy"
actually
if youve seen or read dr stone
try dr stone reboot byakuya
it's a manga only spinoff that's p short and sweet
soloist in a cage looks like a hit or miss
dr stone is good
how do I put this
a story that doesn't require full attention, but still has a proper story
something like Greatest Estate Developer or Return of the Mount Hua Sect
didn't enjoy it
do you prefer stories that have better writting and great pacing, good world building and fleshed out written characters?
well yeah, I prefer when I'm sufficiently engaged in a story, but I don't want everything I read to be a worldview altering experience, need some downtime
so like a realistic story
realistic in what way?
oh so not necessarily short
having realistically plausible things happen?
or being in a world that resembles our real world?
watched, it was alright
I liked it, design of hipster dude goes crazy
I'll check it out when I can (can't read nsfw atm due to things outside my influence)
I just saw author starting a new manga on shonen jump app
Decided to check previous works
20 chapters
Might as well!
there's probably a bunch of stuff from jump plus that i im forgetting about
granted i dont tend to enjo most comedies
ohh I could check out Sakamoto Days, it's been a while
yea see i actually dont like that one that much
it was aight
no
from the death note duo
what
it's on manga plus
no
Show-ha Shoten! (Japanese: ショーハショーテン!, Hepburn: Shō-ha Shōten!) is a Japanese manga series written by Akinari Asakura and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. actually nvm it's just the artist
different writer
but it might scratch your itch
i didn't even finish death note so i wouldn't know about this
I've had to stop myself from reading anything that isnt complete/under a 100 unread chapters. I burn through it way too quick otherwise
I KNOW the other designs are better but man
Probably cleanest just dope ass looking evil dude in a while
He just looks so much "I've met him somewhere I swear"
But children killer dude also looks pretty fly
this one was cute too
Shit got me pondering my motivation as hell
but i remember it having a decent mix of stuff
Oh it goes south a bit
At least rn
Characters are not miserable or smth but under a lot of pressure
@tidal shore ya fuck with Kagurabachi?
Not with a single spec of irony I assure you it's a great manga that is only corny for first 3-4 chapters
My goat
Manga might be like, serious and plot driven NOW but man
This first chapter panel
I will never forget this
its so funny people are hyping up this manga after the industry plant memes have gone down
to me it doesn’t bring anything appealing
It's VERY good battle manga
Good fights, good battle system, magic system has many curious uses, high stakes, characters actually think about their actions beforehand(!)
Not very emotional or something tho, I am hardly saddened by 2d orphan being cut into pieces
Memes were funny but now having over 30 chapters it is just genuinely very fucking good 👍
One of the best first arc villian in shonen I've seen in a while
still sounds broad like I could say the same thing about jojo kekw
lmao
?
Jojo is like a masterpiece though
It is not in any way a degrading comparison lol, if anything it's giving it too much credit xD
Kagurabachi bachi has great paneling, battles are throught out before hand and have a plan, nothing so far feels out of nowhere as even a new move was properly forshadowed, also despite being considerably strong main characters can't just stomp people for fun, information is just as valuable as brawl
It feels very down to earth despite the magic
I think that’s a bit better, idk about great paneling though
I love that they actually fucking retreat and give away their only trump card to villians
I was pleasantly surprised
Characters actually thinking ahead!? Unheard of!
It gets better bit by bit
First few chapters are crazy goofy
like if you fw the spreads then fair
I fw heavy with spreads
I like big awesome wide pages
The weakest part is probably expressions or something
well im spoiled
vol 13 16 and 18 are the only vols that matter anyways
Good thing I have no idea who those characters are
Is it stated himmel stornger than frieren?
Unlikely but possible
She has many times more tools and experience but Himmel is just that guy even without the hero sword
Even in manga?
I mean he didn't solo the big bad evil but knowing he was the defacto leader gives him a lot of credit
I am yet to get to manga but I expect his sheer strength be on the level of dwarf warrior or a bit less and that guy can kill hella dragons
Also HIMmel is probably more agile
God fucking damn it why only now do I notice that he is literally HIMmel
i'm me
Wait wtf he is not even the strongest hero there was
what happened to kurumi
Hero of the south literally SOLO killed 3 out of 7 sages and had to be jumped by big bad evil and his minions to be killed
