They got some very decent story teasers, and I think I splurged a two-page theory somewhere here (maybe here was an abridged version), but I don't expect it to get to really tasty parts in a next season of anime. Maybe in a third, but unlikely

it’s about Izuku resolving what he can do as a hero even without being ‘gifted’ in a society full of supers first and foremost.

How he ultimately becomes “the world’s greatest hero” or why All Might is crippled aren’t important or the point. It’s the fact that he’s found hope to get started.

OnK has some similar strides but the thing is it entices the viewer wanting to find out some of the biggest questions and unresolved subplots that kicks off the plot to begin with. If you only care about Ai, then the first volume is fine. But if you’re wanting to find out what becomes of the MC as consequence of AI’s fate, how Ruby will eventually cope with her dream, then it’s not very satisfying as the closer intently nails down what the focus of the story is from there on. It’s even more a cliffhanger so to say.

The story is still pretty damn good, that's no question. But pacing suffers

The beginning of the story set everything up well. New school, new interesting classmates. Then it veered off completely in a different direction from the setup immediately.

There are only so many sharp turns you can take in a story

In anime we barely see the school at all. The same goes with the movie director (aka Aqua's sensei). I am not even sure how important he was. He was well installed into the story and then completely abandoned too

I was, until it went off the deep end the last few seasons

kinda retroactively ruined my ability to enjoy the earlier stuff knowing how much of it went nowhere in the end

Im enjoying the slower pace and having a bunch of sideplots be focused on at the same time, most stories ive seen in recent memory only focused on 1 or 2 at once at most

A lot of streaming sites will default to hard subs since it's simpler (just streaming the video itself, no fancy UI needed). But the fan subs themselves (if you get them from things like torrents) are usually not hard subs.

The streaming site will usually just burn them in so they don't have to code/maintain more than a barebones video player

Finished got season 2

This season felt a lot weaker than the first one and kinda killed my interest

A lot of the developments felt really plot convenient, the whole desert city subplot felt kinda dumb overall (especially the last part), and i very much dislike how theyve started to introduce more magical elements into the story but they dont bother explaining any specifics as to how they actually work and just handwave it all away as generic western fantasy magic bullshit, it feels lazy

Also i enjoyed the court intrigue and plotting of s1 a lot more than all the war stuff theyve pivoted towards now
