Even relatively recent games have this problem. In Destiny 2 once your frames start going above 60 some mechanics will progress faster (notably ones that will kill you) and technically for all framerates above 30 but only noticiable at 120+ you will start taking more damage from enemies in PVE. It's unfortunately something baked into the engine that they just haven't been able to fix yet.

Everybody making group photos, calling their friends who gave them their phones to catch it (because it was risky at that time to switch accounts on a single phone since you could get a soft ban for fast travel)

Really loved Princess Connect! Re:Dive as a cute isekai that isn't afraid to get dark and serious. Sadly, the source material stopped its English release, but the anime itself works decently well as a stand-alone.
Overly-Cautious Hero and Fantasy Bishoujo are some good isekai comedies.
I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear are both very comfy slice of life isekais I've enjoyed.
Ascendance of a Bookworm has some fantastic worldbuilding, though the anime pacing and budget fall off hard after S1 (the light novel is fantastic though).
^Log Horizon also has some fantastic world building and story, though Im still on S1 so I can't comment on later seasons

They have a ton of weight to them, but they're unique/stylized af

It's easy to have simple movements with weight to them, or fancy moves with no weight to them, but fancy and heavy is way more impressive

scythe absolutely flops as a weapon

no real close combat capabilities, only useful at long range, once parried it's jover

with a spear and a shield you can both block and and attack, but with a scythe you're limited to dual wielding

although I'm a total fan of RWBY's sniper scythe, which doubles as long range ballistic weapon

Looked him up, the animator for that cut specifically was Hanwen Ye. He's done some work on Mushoku Tensei and JJK, but otherwise is a relatively new animator to the scene
