Ehh, one could argue that the value of galeon is not that high (it's really rather fluctuating from book to book, so it's hard to establish). The other argument could be made that it was Harry's perception of his vault after being penniless, so his own view could be exagerrated.
In the end, the books gave the feeling that Harry wasn't that rich, at least in my view it was always middle class or upper middle class

If we take a coin's thickness as 2mm, that would be 0.1m height.
