If the core of what you want to watch the show for is just Naofumi rising from 0 to Hero then you really only need to watch S1.

It might be the case for merch, (as far as I can tell, there's no confirmed source for that with niji) but that's just one part of the total revenue streams a Vtuber has. There's also no way to know if its all merch or just specific type of merch

and again, will vary depending on agency/vtuber

A Vtuber with 1k subs is in a very different position contract-negotiation wise than someone with 100,000.
