There is such thing as sensory overstimulation (which results in a numbness to stimuli not a complete shutdown btw), but overall, the brain itself filters 90%+ of the information that we receive through our senses at any moment on regular basis. And by filtering I mean our high neural activity simply discards that information, leaving it mostly to our autonomous neural system, which works simply on reflexes. So anything beyond the usual amount of information would also be discarded. ||So "half a year's worth of information" is bullcrap. And ppls brains shutting down is also bullcrap||

IMO its insulting to the reader's intelligence to write an explanation that you know is nonsense, and yet try to pass it off as it making sense. It like saying your readerbase is dumb enough to buy into your shit. I have no issue with magic system that dont have rigorous explanations , but if you want to write something like that just embrace the concept of it being nonsensical and dont try to pass it off as something that it isnt

Not directly after, but fishman island has hella lore and all that stuff outside of the fights. The fights are mid though. Just unfortunate that Punk Hazard is immediately after, which is, one of the lower regarded arcs, even though I still found some enjoyment of it

theres a lot of more recent authors that have been pushing the boundaries in this respect

if you read jump plus or main shonen jump in the last year or so theres been a lot of more experimental shonens

akane banashi which ive mentioned about is my favorite one to come out of this so far

Understandably, there wasn't much place for such kind of a mind-battle in this anime, so for me the mysteries lacked a crucial piece. I enjoyed them nonetheless for their puzzles, but the mysteries didn't leave an impression on me, compared to characters themselves

With some interesting "what happens after the end times have passed" epilogue style narrative

Cleaning up the remnants of the war, moving on with their lives, etc

Not really a politics or racism focused story at all imo

while you can say that's a plotline, it's not the centerpiece. Not a single person can relate with an immortal being, so it would be pointless to focus on that
