Good question
Can you explain the plot in excruciating detail
Ok so basically
Uh huh
Mr. Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire (Female Symbol) gets reborn into another world
And then Mr. Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire (Female Symbol) trains to become the best swordsman in the land

Also some woman punts him
What does the female symbol mean
It's because
He's actually a girl
Pretending to be a guy
Because it's set in a medievel fantasy setting
Where everyone is sexist
So nobody believed she could become the best swordswoman
So she pretended to be a dude
lol
i think that ones on my list
WHAR
Where a girl is reincarnated into a Renaissance-themed world and pretends to be her twin brother so she can be the royal guard to the prince of their kingdom
Different story though
Not the one you were talking about, it just has the same premise lol

Those mappa dudes gotta hire me
Next we make an anime that deals with racism
And it's an isekai too
Oh god
Considering how twitter thinks all anime characters are white, I can't see that going down well
Also
It already exists
🔥
I seen like atleast 10 isekais that deal with real life political problems
Even the goofy op skeleton isekai has the dude fighting racism
You know what webtoon doesn't have these problems? The gigachad mage and demon queen
Well, technically ||mage and demon queen is an isekai as well ||
(Mage and demon queen spoilers)
cute?

The omega gay
Actually
yall gotta send this to me
I'm gonna steal part of this image for the lore basement
might actually read
It's just called Mage and Demon Queen
No
damn
Very funny memes though
oooor you can look it up on webtoon

or just open webtoon, it's probably on the front page
considering how popular it is
Thats a lot kf work
He does the punting
That's what I'm saying

So me
Anyway Thursday or Friday night can we make zebra man

I think we should switch up the outfit to
Think we can make it much more cursed
@long peak

It's ok
We have photos
We can re create
Ez
Or we could make RGB man
what is going on~
happy new year!

This could be your character golden

Just read an interesting topic about Haruhi Suzumiya defeating Goku and even Thanos
Looking back at her, she's OP as hell and she doesn't even know it loo
has anyone watched my happy marriage? its actually a cute anime
got bored of it around after when she got kidnapped the first time
Its alright
left or right design
i like the shading on the left more
The words every manwha reader fears
left
Just read this now, their misunderstanding wont be fixed for a long time
def won’t
imagine a romance story where the characters are willing to talk about their problems
why choose, both are good
because some can acknowledge that and still have preferences
ends on the very first episode

/jk
What is this?
I think anyone who had their real name known would fall into the could not solve category
actually relevant question: can Shinigami kill an android?
I think not
also I don't see Sherlock Holmes in this image?
Also can solve the case:
Cannot solve:
true, but not interesting since very few people who are detectives have their names unknown and not mentioned anywhere
I don't know if the ID guy would be able to solve. They need to have some trace of the killer right? Light never had to be anywhere need them.
Herlock Sholmes is in there
Also that's Mage and Demon Queen
I appreciate they added Battler in there
given how complex shit in Umineko is, I do think he could even solve the case
Like golden said, Mage and Demon Queen. Nice fantasy story about a mage girl that crushes hard on the demon queen, and powers herself up to basically force said queen to acknowledge her affection
Pretty cute, and pretty funny
It issss
he was a very skillful policeman(detective) before the whole story with the Id. Mainly, I thought he would be able to solve the case, since he was very good at mind games, manipulating people and thinking from the position of a criminal (and also he kinda specializes at survival, which is important against Kira)
Which are the same reasons why Kogami Shinya is in the "can do" list. I was even thinking putting Emiya Kiritsugu into "can solve" for the same reason there (but I couldn't remember if he ever worked for police or enforcement force or not)
The three characters are very similar at their basic paradigm IMO
lets go
just now saw
irregular at magic hs getting next season next year
hell yeah
I really enjoyed that show but I don’t think you’ll like it
lavish and creative direction compared to the og series and eventually reaches the theme where humans are much more fucked up than devils
how come i wont like it??
very r18+, batshit insane, all gas no breaks pacing
the avg viewer probably wouldn’t want a combo of those 2
3*
Volume 1 of peak manwha arrived in the mail today
classic and arguably the best dark fantasy manga
(rip) miura's art and spreads is unmatched and not a lot of mangakas can draw as amazing as he can
not for the faint of heart, but you can definitely give it a try
just tread with caution if you ever reach the golden circle arc, its a lot of people's favourite and the climax for it is supremely disturbing
he makes it so detailed
currently there's no good complete adaptation of berserk
if you wanna experience the whole story properly read the manga
hey juca, howre you dude??
i just started giorno part 5
ngl its prob the best part imo
coz the fights are so good
and grionos theme ofc
Part 4 is better for sure
Hi does anyone knows a mangaka named overkill/bita. Anyone got other recommendations that has a similar style of manga? Like for example umekoppe manga’s. Just curious if there are other manga’s that are similar as theirs.
You guys must not look them up if you don’t know them
Is it like chainsawan
ngl when I first read chainsaw man the pacing reminded me of it yes
and also considering how ||practically everyone died||
the cover is very cool, but shouldn't it be Madchen, not Marchen, lmao?
Märchen = Fairy tale 👀
interesting, I have read a bunch of fairy tails in German, haven't seen this word
It's a pretty common term. Hell, Grimms' Fairy Tales (Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Rapunzel, Cinderella, etc) is Kinder und Hausmärchen in German 👀
The most German practice I get is whatever anime songs Selphius decides to do a German cover of
maybe I didn't notice it for some reason
Understandable tbh. It was probably buried in the middle of some 30 character long compound word every time you read it
Anybody know a good anime site ?
like myanimelist or 9anime?
Yeah
I just tried to reach it
Server could not be found
I was on it lst night too but bruh
This sucks ass man
LETS GOOOO
o7
cool, didn't know this site existed. Whos subs they are using? Though I guess nowadays 95% of subs are rips from Crunchyroll
Not a clue
aniwave is 9anime rebranded
Different from anime to anime. Easiest way to check is to open up the Mp4upload mirror and hit the download button (the download page will have the subs used in the file name)
Ex: Helck is using "SubsPlease" while Eminence in Shadow's is using "Erai-raws"
Tho I think most of the groups are just gonna be CR subtitle rips
I miss the times when there were multiple sublates available and you could choose a more suitable one. CR subs are good but not always tbh.
can i download videos on zoro?
animepahe? Sounds like an Indonesian site
I don't have an issue with indonesian websites except that I don't use an adblock
🤣
wait, I actually thought you misspelled Animepage or smth. There is literally the animepahe site
at least from my experience, there still is, just not on streaming sites
There still seems to be a strongish subtitle scene in the more... distributed networks
Streaming sites compete to get an anime uploaded first tho, and usually that means going with the subtitles taken from the company whose episode came with them included
I felt like they moved on after HorribleSubs ruined the scene in some ways during their later years (also, being a former HS enjoyer, I am just trying to be objective here). Good thing if the scene is still kicking
Kagurabachi better
Yeah it also good
real
Nah with just a few chapters you can't say anything until we see the development
For example look at death note
Holy shit today's JJK episode went crazy
Now kith
Finally, I understood why Kamonohashi Ron art was so familiar. It's very close to Psycho Pass
it's the same author who did hitman reborn
Why does 7DS keep getting more adapations?
shit you're right
Man there's a lot of sus noises when people drink blood in Vanitas

I would personally not be making those noises
I'll be honest, I fast forwarded through all those scenes
Thankfully it only happens like 3 times but still
It's definitely happened more than that
Vanitas cut it out bro PLEASE
I get you're down bad but you have a bf right there
Dude has issues
Actually a little freak
Perpetually has his profile set to "it's complicated"
HE IS
HE STRAIGHT UP IS
BUT DAMN IT IF HE AINT FUNNY AS HELL
His dynamic with noe is gold though
And dead...? I guess?
Do you want a possible spoiler
That he's not actually dead
I can't remember what episode it's revealed in
That's so crazy
Lol
I definitely didn't expect the fuck out of that
Skcbsocbwgowbg
Cause they don't have the balls to actually just tell the story of his death
Man is not only down bad but has an identity crisis
Cause that would be good writing
The impending doom of knowing one of the characters will die is way better
But eh
Whatever
Everyone is always saved by the magic of friendship and glitter
That's why cowboy bebop is goated
Partly what made edgerunners so great imo
Yeah that too

I was only invested in like 2 characters, but I totally get how that would fuck someone up
I thought it was cool and the characters were well developed for the most part, and the visuals for the big guy forgot his name when he slowly lost his mind
David
But the fact they actually went and fucking killed most of the cast
Nah not David
The big big guy
The other big guy
Surely he wouldn't lose his mind
Skxhwochwg
Yeah, the guy that's basically Barrett from ff7
Golden
But yeah I think it would especially hit hard with the light heart slice of life tones that Vanitas takes sometimes
But the big guy slowly losing his mind, almost like dementia, really hit home ngl
Ye
Bro straight up deleted giraffe man. Like how could you
Twas an accident
He was the mc of your account smh
Goodnight
I have to sleep bruh
Gotta wake up bright and early
It's almost 5:30 and I got work
3
But still
Ah
It's almost 2:30 and I have work
It's almost 4:30 and I don't have work
Plus I gotta do fun stuff in the morning

Likewise
Au revoir
Buenas noches

That's what I'm sayin
3 episodes of Gundam Buildverse fan service. I am fulfilled.
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJV1h9xQ7Hx-41y3mef81FVIvQnWzMmXV
Below 24ep and with ending or just has below 24 ep?
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury
The King's Avatar (all seasons), Irregular @ Magic HS (all seasons), The Ancient Magus Bride (all seasons), Quanzshi Fashi (all seasons), The Witch from Mercury, Dragon Raja, War God System!, Free!, The Daily Life of the Immortal King (all seasons)
those are probably my top picks that come to mind first
might be a few hidden gems im forgetting tho
It really wasn't that bad.
on s1?
was abrupt if anything lmao
i have yet to start s2 tho
waiting for @whole kernel to give in
Yea, could be worse but I am kinda salty they didn't just make another season instead. They could have gone on for a lot longer if they wanted
They definitely could've but I think that's where they wanted it to end and that's fine imo.
I would've liked it if ||Calibarn|| got a little more time to shine but I'll settle for the Gunpla being amazing.
Shiki, Blue Period, Sakurada Reset, Golden Time, Ao no Ashi, Ballroom e Youkoso, Hyouka, Sankarea, Id: Invaded
I completely forgot about ballroom
it's one of those things I picked up on a whim and ended up loving
you should check Dance Dance Danseur then. It has rather good artistic value
dance dance danseur is ok
ballroom e youkoso is underrated, its haikyuu but basically good
(they're not similar they just share the same studio/character designer)
I stopped watching haikyuu
Same. Not the show's fault just stopped watching a bunch of stuff around that time because I was trying to juggle like 12 shows.
I like a lot about this show, but I just can't get past the exaggerated necks
no amount of watching makes them any less offputting
Idk
I just remember something about the food being so good their clothes explode or something(?)
💀
no, it was really good
Its fun
haikyuu's problem was that it stopped on a huge drop off of a storytelling speed and dynamic. Like the story went from hot to cold. That was really bad
I was about to say many anime, but i realized how much anime ive watched were way past the 24 ep mark (if we included seasons ofc), only anime i can think off the top of my head is violet evergarden
and it's hard to pick up at that point
oh yeah i forgot about that
I loved haikyuu
i never bothered finishing it tho
shokugeki no soma also got repetitive
it's a shonen without fights
they cook instead
if youve seen any shonens you should know what to expect
well, it's also great if you want to pick up some cooking skills. Like how to choose ingredients
I should watch more shonen stuff huh
Hmm okay
I also recommend cooking with the valks
p-p-pizza pizza
werent you watching one piece a while back
did you drop it?
sadly yes
I always deemed food wars as a creative take on the shōnen formula
though it gets a bit worse each season
it took me a while I got used to it
its part of conveying the art of ballroom dancing so I get why they put emphasis on the design
how far did you get?
Oh I 100% get why they did it. It just unnerves me
it would be interesting, if clothes were exploding in Ballroom. A different genre though
yeah the genres food wars
am i tripping because i swear i remember a scene where they eat food and their clothes explode or something
well, yes. That is a feature of the show
it's only a mental image
i thought about watching devilman crybaby
until the last arc or so
also am i the only one whos a tokyo ghoul fan??
it's a popular series
dammit
idk why you'd think youre the only one
but it seems you slipped through the cracks
im on ch 69 of the manga
already passed the kaneki torture
5th most popular manga on MAL
"am I the only one"
wait is it really 5th?
its the 5th??
not in rating, but in popularity yeah
also about blue lock, what the fuck is that about?
ah
s p o r t s
meanwhile you got inazuma eleven thats also soccer
INAZUMA?!??/11/1/1/?
blue lock
jagaaan
bokutachi ga yarimiashita

FROM JENSHIN IMPACT
battle royale with a football take. Quite interesting first 16 episodes and very dynamic
do you guys know any dark souls anime
berserk
idk the genre of dark souls
devoro
thx
then theres the mc that uses muscle magic
which beserk is the one without the bad cgi
1998
his name is mashe i think
yeah
the one that is in production now
just wait
Depends on what part of dark souls you're going for
Big boss battles, spooky eldritch/ancient lore, ominous vibes, big sword boss man, etc
the creepy bosses yeah
thats just berserk
the dark fantasy stuff
They really need to pick up some author to finish Berserk. It needs it
Berserk's your closest to a 1:1 match of all of those, but there's other stuff that can scratch the ittch for parts of it tho
I thought Miura died... erm
he did
holyland author is continuing berk
and his assistants continue it
not as good but its better than nothing
so they did pick up a new author
yes
On June 7, 2022, Hakusensha and Kouji Mori announced that the series would continue publication, using plans and thoughts that were relayed to Mori by Miura himself, as well as memorandums and character designs that Miura left behind... Mori explained that the story for Berserk had since gone on "exactly as we discussed at the time, with almost no changes." As the only person who knows the ending Miura intended, Mori agreed to continue the series and promised, "I will only write the episodes that Miura talked to me about. I will not flesh it out. I will not write episodes that I don't remember clearly. I will only write the lines and stories that Miura described to me."
I guess I'll see if they got anything good with Berserk
I haven't read it since his 2nd or 3rd hiatus
well, duh
It doesn't matter if it's different, but if it's still good
well, that doesn't sound good. Like you need to have the guts (pun intended) to bring your own style into a work, you just can't necroraise the story and hope the zombie would be good
by using only the leftovers
But yeah, for "dark souls-like" anime, I'd personally suggest:
- Berserk ofc.
- Made in Abyss (that same spooky ominousness + spooky bosses)
- Castlevania (a lot of that same dystopian dark fantasy that dark souls goes for)
- Attack on Titan (inspired by berserk, has lots of big battles and is generally a dark setting)
Claymore's a bit dated but might also be worth checking out
there isn't much dark fantasy in anime
Unfortunately, yeah
i imagine it's hard to pitch to tv networks
theres more dark manga if you'd prefer that instead
I could see The Witcher getting one maybe someday
since it managed to get a live action
I'd love to see it get the Castlevania treatment for sure
oh, this one was hard to remember and noone else seems to remember it either lmao, it's not on dark fantasy lists for some reason. This one is pretty dark-soulsy meaning it's quite unforgiving https://myanimelist.net/anime/31859/Hai_to_Gensou_no_Grimgar
Fear, survival, instinct. Thrown into a foreign land with nothing but hazy memories and the knowledge of their name, they can feel only these three emotions resonating deep within their souls. A group of strangers is given no other choice than to accept the only paying job in this game-like world—the role of a soldier in the Reserve Army—and eli...
Hm, I suppose technically that could work. I guess I was leaning more towards solo-ish stories rather than communal ones (since dark souls games tend to be very solo-ish experiences)
I'm pretty sure I've seen a trailer for an anime adaptation of it
Okay I looked it back up, it's a Netflix adaptation animated movie
But was made 2 years ago
Apparently there's also a sequel slated for late 2023/early 2024 supposedly
I am surprised no one is doing anime for Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive. It's so up for grabs, and the author seems to be generally supportive of anime. And the story is so well-suited for anime with flashy action-packed battles and interesting landscapes and worldbuilding.
Let's be honest, I don't think it's getting a live TV show, it's production would be too costly for that sort of FX
Personally manifesting for an anime of the MinMax TTRPG light novel, but I know that's a moonshot at best
Even though Stormlight Archive is currently probably if not the biggest, at least top 3 biggest pure fantasy franchise out there
I'm still excited and waiting for the solo leveling anime to air soon
3 more months
My point was that Archive is dark fantasy, and this genre rarely gets this big, so yeah, it should be quite niche, considering, that Netflix seems to like dark fantasy with GoT and The Witcher
and niche brings money
So I am really curious why they still didn't figure out an anime
Wait okay I haven't checked the voice roles until now
Ueda is voicing cha
And yeah, Netflix likes dark since that brings in money for western audiences
We have some strange fascination with evil
My only guess is that the SA author doesn't like Netflix's approach
their anime production is decent
when they actually pay for it, yeah
i always question if this is worth watching
if you count it as isekai, it's better than 99% of isekais
if something piques your interest
I recommend just giving it a try instead of overthinking about it
worst thing that happens is you watch a few eps, dont likeit, and drop it and move on
I recommend not giving it a try, watching everything is not an option. The show is very good, but generally a good idea is to wait until someone else recommends it again
watching an episode(sometimes even less) is not that long
and people usually spend more time stressing over this stuff than it would have taken to just watch an ep
watching one episode is often not enough and you can just end up making an incorrect opinion from a single episode. A lot of good shows don't properly work until 3rd or 4th episode
i feel like the whole 3 episode thing is more of a stereotype than anything
So not watching something is even less stress, since you don't commit to doing it. Then if you get multiple recommendations, you could try
I can't think of anything ive watched in the last year or so that I didn't like from the start
the only worst isekai is sao
but konosuba is so good
kazuma is a average guy on a journey to fight the demon king
and living his life in anither world
nah, you do need time for a good story to unwrap. Authors do go for attention grabbing storytelling lately, but the really good shows that take their time are usually much better
i dont see how that contradicts what I said
you dont need have an understanding of the entire narrative to know whether you'd enjoy it or not
and even if you needed to
I dont see why I'd trust another person's opinions over my own
well, 3 episode rule is not a stereotype. It just became less applicable with more and more shows opting for fast food fiction.
I dont think it was ever that applicable
most of the anime you see people recommend are manga adaptations
that's the point where we disagree
manga have made a tradition of making chapter 1s give the readers a general idea of what the story is about
On one hand, SAO needs to learn when to die off (ffs, stop making more)...
On the other hand l, S1Ep 1 through 8 wasnt all that bad, and SAO as a whole gave us SAO Abridged, which is fantastic
manga is a different medium. And something which is good as manga is not necessarily the same level good as anime
People just project their feelings from manga (or ranobe) onto anime.
stop making more what??
because all sao focused is just kirito
my point was that episode 1 of a manga adaptation will have the chapter 1 stuff in it, which is written specifically to give the readers an idea about what the story will be about
whether you like it or not is a different topic
well, there were quite a lot of shows that I needed to watch for multiple episodes before I could say if I was gonna like it. There are many shows that I didn't like after just the 1st episode, for different reasons, but turned to like eventually after seeing more of it
SAO
SAO S2
SAO: Extra Edition
SAO Alicization
SAO Alicization - War of Underworld
SAO Alternative
SAO Progressive

SAO End World
SAO Infinity Moment

SAO Alicization: Rising Steel
SAO Alicization Lycoris
SAO Black Swordsman Ace
SAO Varient Showdown
SAO Last Recollection
It needs to stop 😂
some of the shows I really enjoyed a lot got some stale first episodes or two
there's a reason why the 3ep or bust stigma exists
Steins Gate with the "just give it 8-9 episodes man"
I think its 12 eps for that lol
Rip
just read the VN at this point, you'd get the mc pov like every VN has and you'd easily get immersed
why...
show relies on shock value
this kinda works too, there are a lot of shows like that. Because of the same stupid attention grabbing system. They put a lot of thought and quality into first chapters only to fizzle out later
HE HAS THE BIG SWORD AND THATS ENOUGH
Every one of those titles is real and official btw
SAO refuses to die
Alicization alone has almost as many episodes as FMAB's full run
tbh, I just don't want to propagate "grab my attention in one episode" mentality. I think it's detrimental to some genres that really need to take their time.
you dont have to?
it can be something slower paced
you can still get a general idea of the vibes
if you can't idk what to tell ya
I consider suggesting someone to watch just 1 episode to be exactly propagating that sort of mentality
I didnt say watch exactly 1 episode
I said give it a try and if you dont like it drop it
I didnt put any hard limit
I find putting any hard limit of any kind stupid
which is why I dont like the 3 ep thing
it always depend on the series
I somewhat agree with giving some shows more than a single epispde or two to get going, but I tend to find shit that takes longer than three episodes to establish itself does so for more pretentious reasons than anything
Not universally, but more often than not
give the series a peep
if it doesn't get good for you just ask the enjoyer about it
and they'll tell you whether to continue or not
ez
well yeah, to some extent. Again, there should be some limit at where you should make up your mind with the show being good or bad, because, again, there are too many things to watch
IM SORRY, THESE ARE ALL REAL?????
THEY NEVER STOPPED????
I HADN'T HEARD ANYTHING AFTER ALICIZATION
Some are manga spinoffs, some are light novels, but yes, all real
oh, i thought you meant the anime

yeah the light novels and stuff
okay
makes more sense
Anime's SAO, SAO 2, Gun Gale, Alicization S1 and S2, and I think Progressive? (If not, than it was in works)
- the movies
Of which theres like 4 or 5ish
which is why i nearly spat my drink when i saw your list
Iirc
i thought it was the anime
fate says hi
no, it's Fate from the lore-basement, sends hi

fate and gundam do be cooking the most
😭
that's what i thought at first
and was gonna ask why he doesn't just say hi himself
he isn't banned or anything
wait until you learn about nasu's other works
Uh oh
honestly, then need to make a different slogan. I think "For All The Eternity" would be suitable. Or "Forever and then Evermore"
garden of sinners and canaan do be the only type moon shows I've peeped
movies and show*
I like unlimited blade works and zero specifically
everything else ive seen from fate felt kinda w/e
fgo has a surprisingly good story but you have to put up with all the typical gacha bullshit which made me lose interest
still need to continue garden
maybe today
havent been in a watching mood lately
i've been told to watch those and like one other fate series
and in a specific order
but i forgot the order and the series names
violet evergarden was so good though, even without context to the rest of the show/world
you're either told to watch
zero -> stay night -> heaven's feel
or stay night -> heaven's feel -> zero
but not zero or stay night first, interesting
FGO was the first gacha I tried. Then I lost my saves after a week or two of playing by not binding the account (you know, also one of the first mobile game I played). So I thought it was a case of japanese developers being stupid for no reason and not making a proper google login, so I never played it again
I thought I bound my account
but I can't find the recovery email anymore
I had 3 4stars in my tutorial pull lol
I don't remember. I got Illya's Berserk, was he SR or SSR?
4star yea
lemme find my pic
youre supposed to have 1 guaranteed from a pool
I got 3 lol
The FGO interface always reminds me of old PS2 jrpgs every time I see it lol
Well, FGO and Genshin basically shaped my opinion about the gacha genre not in a good way. So nowadays I am just hoping that gacha spinoffs of the franchises that I like would make money for another main game
in general I dont like most mobile game interfaces
it's a lot of just menus opening more menus opening more menus
gachas are mainly criminal for those uis
Genshin's pity system has jaded me to most other systems, ngl. If a game doesnt have some sort of hard pity to it (at least, one somewhat achievable as a f2p) I just cannot get invested
nice buggy

my general way is just not to care. If the game is in the world I like (like Ragnarok or Ni no Kuni or Persona) I will play it while I have fun, without investing myself into anything. If I enjoy it, I will put my money into it. If I don't enjoy it, I will quit it. Ni no Kuni Crossworlds is one of the most enjoyable mobile games, tho I knew from the beginning, that the monetization systems there are complete shit. So I played it until I stopped enjoying it, and I got my decent 150-200 hours of fun from there, which is more than I usually get from any kind of games
For me at least, its because I tend to latch onto one or two characters, and if there's no way to guarentee I can acquire them, my motivation to play drops drastically
There'll be others I like, but that main one is what keeps me playing
||Seele my beloved
||
yeah, understandable. I haven't played a gacha that would have that level of effect on me (I have it, but it's not significant). I will have to wait until Persona comes out, to see if I get that level of attachement to characters (though I doubt they are gonna do a character gacha)
I mean, I'm a fan of big worlds and worldbuilding and all that.
But I need that character connection to get myself invested into it
Tho I've also kept playing some trash gachas far longer than I shouldve just case of some fun characters
Yeah, I value characters the most in any kind of media too. But Genshin specifically mostly fails to produce characters that I would be attached to. On the other hand PGR has quite a lot of them. I guess it's the problem of genshin story, where all the characters are simply acquaintances and not really friends
PGR... loved the music, but the characters do nothing for me
pgr?

well, the whole Alpha/Lucia/Plum storyline had one of the best developments in gaming overall for me. I was impressed how it turned out so far. I guess it also helps that all other main party members kinda clicked for me. I liked all the starting roster except Bianca, which is quite rare for me
nikke also kinda sucks ass
Isn't nikke pretty much all ass?
well, the boss fights are all lit, because of the music. I spent like 30 hours on one of the hardest coop boss fights there (it was unnecessary to fight it at that difficulty, except for the medal you get) and never regretted it, because the music and mechanics made it such a great time.

you have a point
Yep nikke’s gameplay is ass, both of them i mean
literally
I'm tempted to check out reverse 1999 but the voice acting is kinda cringe
at least it looks clean
I really hoped that genshin had an option to turn off ui when playing so i can appreciate the beauty of the map more, then i soon realized “its a gacha they wouldn’t do that”
I actually like how genshin and star rail did it
you control a character in a 3d environment
and to access stuff you interact with npcs/objects in said environment
sure theres a few menus but nowhere near as convoluted as most mobile games ive seen
yeah, would be nice. After years, I still get distracted by the UI animations (namely Pyro burst being available on a character in the party) when exploring, lmao
it's more in line with other jrpgs if anything
Anime detective game
About time travel and stuff iirc
Apothecary diaries first 3 eps were great
Definitely one of my favourites along with frieren
Sxf this season
I've never played PGR but the first time I heard this song and Narwhal really made me consider it.
Hikari is actually so goated
Narwhal is one of the top, but there are better tracks out there
revelation and narwhal for me
Basically time go backwards, main character has a mother i guess, they have to stop time from going backwards
That's from the 1 ad I've watched
I literally only got to the "so you have a mother?" And then skipped
I got to the Colosseum looking scene and skipped
Actually I got to the second anime girl showing up
Still British
Nightmare
whats wrong with british?
😭
That's finally out? Huge fan of the light novel, so Im glad to hear it turned out well
Even better news they will have 2 consecutive cours
We are eating good until the end of march
gotta catch em all
gotta catch em all
gotta catch em all
gotta catch em all
POKEMON GOTTA CATCH EM
A HEART SO TRUUUUUUEEEEE
OUR COURAGE WILL PULL US THROUGH
you teach me and i'll teach you
PO-KE-MON
where did that come from
idk, i was watching a jacksepticeye video from a year ago about a horror game when the theme song for the og pokemon season just suddenly popped into my head
i heard british and was summoned
Idk but i think eminence in shadow is mid
I mean it has fine animation a cool mc which is not the first so nothing special and a mid plot
The characters in Shadow garden doesn't even have development
I don't think it deserves it's rating in Mal because I've seen a lot of anime who do the same
Personally my favourite anime is frieren, apothecary diaries from this season because they are interesting and they do not copy others, eminence it's like a generic isekai
I understand people like it because of how chad is the mc but this doesn't make it good
Season 1 was fine but the plot was so generic
S2 it's early yet but i don't think it will special because the anime is more to show how overpowered is the mc this is it's goal
Feel free to talk if you don't agree and explain why you think it's good
I haven't read the light novel but the anime it's so interesting so far mao mao and the other guy who teases her they are so good, the animation is beautiful and it's not your typical romance anime
I don't know if it's romance
The thing about her being like a apothecary it's so interesting and she seems like kind of a detective too can't wait for the next episodes
its a “so bad its good” show, you don’t really peep it for the development but you watch it for that reason lol
chad edgy mc just clapping cheeks while he cooks up a harem
Then it's not something special
its not
I don't see anything interesting in that
If want badass mc i will watch jojo
It's not that I'm not watching it
Eminence
But i don't get why people hyping so much
Me too
At least we have rizz
Now
Xd
Also is that kingdom of ruin worthy
Of my time
My friend said it's good
I heard it's with edgy mc
Is the anime good in general tho so far idc about the mc if it has only that
looks like edgy mc revenge story
fantasy setting where modern science overpowers magic
with that knowledge its to your discretion to check it out or not
@magic yarrow
Hmm
I'll check the first ep but i don't think i will see much of the plot in one ep
Also bokura no protocol is very good not something breathtaking but it's decent and i can feel it better because I've been an eSports manager
On CODM
on one of the best teams in Europe in T1 level
So i can feel that it tells the eSports story very well also i haven't seen a lot of eSports anime
Other than one which was very bad i don't think there are a lot out there
watch The King’s Avatar
its a donghua (chinese animation listed on MAL) but it depicts the esports scene at a decent degree
at least that’s what I heard I haven’t watched it lol
Is it for shooter eSports?
Like cod
This type
don’t think its fps
weirdchamp excuse
like for me I watched akagi which is heavy on mahjong
I still don’t understand all the rules but I enjoyed it a lot
same with most sports anime I find other reasons to love it rather than the sports itself
Nah it's not an excuse
I will not understand it because i don't know how eSports work
In this kind of game
So i will not feel it
I tried to manage on lol and it was so very different than cod
whats so different about team vs team but in a different game genre
I like the protocol rain because it's in my kind of space it's not breathtaking but i feel the anime because I've done the same
How the scene works
And the mechanics
Of the game
Strategies
And stuff
And the scene
scene as in esports scene? like the vibes?
gotcha, I feel ya now
No bro how the tournaments work, recruitment, scrims
You have to experience it to understand
Man sorry
they do all that in bokura no protocol?
I did scrims before for money I used to be in a fortnite mobile team back in the day 😹
Oh my bro is very good at Fortnite
Yes man
They do
It's quick but they do
Br games recruitment is different than fps bte
Btw
It's not the same process
I've been a wz manager too because it's cod xd
😂
As you can see cod is my favourite 😅
I miss bo2 days
I respect what they’re doing w/ today’s MW titles it looks goddamn realisitc
there is few eSports in manga because Japan is not big in eSports. From that perspective, I think Korean manhwa could potentially have more representatives of eSports since it's more prominent on national level there
Yeah, the way I've described the series to people before is its basically like the medical show House, but set in ancient Korea
People keep dragging her into weird and bizarre cases, she uses obscure and strange logic to crack the case
I hope it's not a damned isekai
?
No
It's a genuine historical
Girl worked as an apothecary for (semi story spoiler) ||her father, the best apothecary in the country before he got on an important official's bad side|| and is a genuine prodigy. She just gives 0 fucks about being polite (like House) while using her knowledge to make very unusual connections in medical mysteries
She also has a fascination with testing poisons on herself, which adds even more to her knowledge pool for cracking cases
erm, she is a nutcase
Well, yeah...
She finds them and their various effects medically fascinating
(Another reason I make the House connection is that she gives basically 0 fucks about the cases/people themselves, she just knows they won't leave her alone until she finds an answer)
ah, I was wrong. She is a junky (another case for House connection lmao)
A sort of medicine adrenaline junkie, kinda
But yeah, big fan of the source material
she's sassy af
hmm, could you call House an edgelord?
Wouldnt be the first thing I'd call him, but I wouldnt deny it either lol
no, he's an opposite of chad. He literally pretends to be chad to be the greatest pretender of them all. And by pretending to be chad he does the chad things by accident. But otherwise he is quite a shitty human being
Umm actually ||he's not her real father||
||Well, the one that raised her in the apothecary. Blood related or not, he's where she got her training from||
The point was she's got a lot of training in the subject
on top of her own (self) experiments
Imagine not being ||related unless it's blood relation
Rip all the adopting and step fathers||
Unrelated, but new inabakumori song is out and it's very different than their usual work 🤔 I dig it tho https://youtu.be/uZdnPgDaOpk?si=ZZ485OBWrqnngS-N

New voice pack
I get silent hill vibes from first 1couple of seconds
Finally got around to watching it myself
Man, they did such a good job adapting The Apothecary Diaries
Maomao's voice/way of talking is perfect for the character
she looks pissed af
honestly, a hot tall guy with long hair puts a hand on a shoulder. She immediately goes "it's a sexual harassment"
Oh, she is.
The guy in that gif drives her mad
He knows how to push all her buttons
whats everyones thoughts on blue lock??
It's an anime, that's for sure.
Of all the sports anime out there, it's definitely one of them.
I thought any kind of spoilers from ongoing anime needs spoiler tags
Anyway i really love 100 gf anime so much, Bibury manages to elevate the manga
Those original scenes they add are so good especially ||when the knight fighting the dragon||
As expected from the studio who animated Magical Destroyers
(Not really a hard requirement, more of a courtesy thing. Scene was minor and out of context enough that I didn't feel spoilers were needed)
Yeah, the 100 gf anime has been so good so far
We're honestly being spoiled this season with good shows
Pluto's dropping late this week too. Super hyped for that
I will subscribe netflix again next month only for Pluto and Scott Pilgrim
Just sail the seven seas
the grand line you mean
Or dive the torrential waters
im not sure what that one is referencing
Manga is 🔥 Anime was good but animation was lacking at moments
I think the bl guys should just kiss already, they're doing some
stuff
Thats pretty common in sport shonen tbh
Blue Lock out of context looks like some unhinged bl and its hilarious
That's most sports anime imo
Very good
Ending was sorta abrupt but still good
Dunno if they will make a s5 or leave it at that

very good, if you have any clue about football. Just good if you don't
I think it's very good even if you don't know soccer
just kick the ball to the goalie net what’s so hard about understanding that
Exactly
They don't even do carding or anything like that, so it's even more accessible
it's not a question of sports knowledge. It's that the show itself uses the same formulae over and over, so it gets boring rather quickly. I would assume if you are not intereseted in football, that would be even more pronounced, that's why the show is simply good
compared to other sports anime, Blue Lock doesn't bring much sports into it. So while sports shows benefit from the inherent complexity and inticacies of their respective sports, Blue Lock doesn't gain much in that respect, because it takes a rather specific angle that disregards most of what makes football football. It's not a bad thing, even interesting, but author didn't manage to make it really diverse
The art does go kinda crazy tho
ehh. It's subjective. The art is good there, that's for sure
What blue lock does really well imo is building up hype moments
One of the best things in animation are sword fights which have incredible coreography and insane animation. Sword fights and hand to hand combat are the best things in anime.

Crazy how a change in sound design can change a scene
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GaKCQSb8RY
#sounddesign #anime #animeedit #animemoments #resoundeffects #meme #theeminenceinshadow #cidkageno #iamatomic #Akiba #Ryoto
Eh, kinda just sounds like a dubstep song instead of an fx
the original could have used some fx for sure tho. Felt kinda robbed that they cut it out
I'm not saying that this was better per se just that it kinda changes how the scene feels.
They have one for each of the atomics.
The first one is really good imo
Thought this one had the most impactful change though
wtf was that resound lmao
might have to relisten on earbuds to fully gauge what I just heard
agreed with jake but I get the intention
better example imo https://youtu.be/W8B4C8jCHyA?si=ZW026ninTi4kIbsC
I really wish the super moves in Eyes of Heaven weren't so short. Makes it a bit of a pain to edit with.
Sound effects from Yasumasa Koyama (JJBA sound designer).
the video games don’t go crazy on sound like davidpro does so hearing this concept was pretty cool
Happy birthday Lu Guang Link Click, big day for gay people
(gay people is Cheng Xiaoshi)
(and me)
Lol
honestly, these are one of the funniest moments ever in anime. I laugh so hard every time. Sound designers managed it perfectly
