Mainly, I thought he would be able to solve the case, since he was very good at mind games, manipulating people and thinking from the position of a criminal (and also he kinda specializes at survival, which is important against Kira)

my general way is just not to care. If the game is in the world I like (like Ragnarok or Ni no Kuni or Persona) I will play it while I have fun, without investing myself into anything. Ni no Kuni Crossworlds is one of the most enjoyable mobile games, tho I knew from the beginning, that the monetization systems there are complete shit. it's not a question of sports knowledge. It's that the show itself uses the same formulae over and over, so it gets boring rather quickly. I would assume if you are not intereseted in football, that would be even more pronounced, that's why the show is simply good

compared to other sports anime, Blue Lock doesn't bring much sports into it. So while sports shows benefit from the inherent complexity and inticacies of their respective sports, Blue Lock doesn't gain much in that respect, because it takes a rather specific angle that disregards most of what makes football football. It's not a bad thing, even interesting, but author didn't manage to make it really diverse
