Love After World Domination (2022): Cheesy power-ranger esque hero meets villain lady. Falls for her at first sight and asks her out. Flustered, she agrees. Cue forbidden romance as they try to keep their relationship hidden from their teammates.

Dress Up Darling (2022): is nice as well. Shy doll maker guy is asked by the class gyaru/preppy girl to help her with cosplay.

My Senpai is Annoying (2021): Office romcom about a short office lady and her in-denial crush on her himbo hulk of a coworker senpai.

Over the Moon for You(2020): Guy gets saved by girl. Falls for her and asks her out. She says yes, on the condition that he marry her on the spot. Dude says yes. Cue rapidly having to adjust to married life together (also implied but never quite laid out in the anime that ||the girl has something supernatural about her||)

Another one that already has its first episode out is I'm In Love With the Villainess. TL;DR: Girl reincarnates into otome game, but instead of obsessing over the male romance targets, she directs her love and devotion to the villainess. Cute story, the animation quality has been pretty solid, and from what I've seen of the source material, the pacing is solid and the story surprisingly unique/interesting. Definitely one I'm watching this season.

Though romance is sort of a side feature instead of the main focus, Tearmoon Empire is a comedy this season I'm really looking forward to as well. TL;DR: Selfish dumb princess gets beheaded in revolution, reverts back in time 10 years with her future diary. Does selfish things to prevent her getting beheaded, but power of plot leads them to put her unknowingly in the best light (similar to Overlord kinda in that way). Narrator hates the princess's guts

There's also more Spy x Family (including a new season and a movie) if you enjoyed the first season 👀

Also cautiously keeping my eye on The Vexations of the Shut In Vampire Princess. Havent read the source material, but it seems interesting enough

I guess I gravitate more towards your usual Slice of Life romance, since I am looking for character development in the romance genre and in slice of life there isn't much for an author to work with except situations and characters.

Like for example Skip to Loafer has a very good character development you don't usually see outside the romance genre
