Yeah, it helped a lot with the pacing and fleshing out a lot of the stuff they'd only touched on in world quests or from random notes scattered across the landscape. I'm glad they used nod krai to help add a bit more to the story and answer long-standing questions the community has had for years along with finally putting faces and names to different things like the shades with its release

i think they bit off a little bit too much with the number of mini quests they made for the current event, each one stops you from continuing the main story of the event, but then every other one is locked because the main story quest is already in the same area as they are kekw

Not by that much really I’d say. He just doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.

Unlike Captainverse Captain, I hear, has far more of a rep and a plot line surrounding him. His face is always obscured or masked but he actually has a presence in the stories he’s featured in. (And he’s also even a married man in a monogamous relationship too lol.) which is funny cuz his story was actually supposed to be a one-off tale that actually got pretty popular so they rolled with it for a bit longer.

Adam in A Post Honkai Odyssey (APHO) is a bit of a funny case too. Cuz he wasn’t officially named until much later. And it’s largely cuz fans discovered his stand-in name through some game files and defaulted it, so Hoyo just caved lol. But he’s also an active part of the story he’s (which is a time-skip sequel story that curiously came out before Part 1 of Hi3 was done afaik). It’s also going to get revisited too it seems to time into Part 2 since itll lead into APHO.

My personal belief is that Celestia's probably going to be morally gray, because
A: miHoYo doesn't have the guts to make a major faction fully evil aside from the Abyss.
B: Honestly more narratively compelling.

We know from promotional material that the end-game of Genshin is the Traveler becoming a god themself. I could easily see it being sort of a "This system comes with great sacrifices, but it keeps the world intact/Abyss-free. Any change to the system risks ruining everything" and the Traveler basically having to fight for the right to impose/try a new system despite the risks.

MIND YOU that at worst you'd just be physically stronger. you need to actively train with a purpose to improve things like skills, technqiues, etc. and we just see none of it almost ever

it's also just annoying to see them get stronger and do cool shit in cutscenes and not in game. At the VERY LEAST make people pay for upgrades. just give players an option to make traveler have a cool kit so it just adds on to the other problems i stated above

I feel like that was mostly the case during 3.x to 4.x period. 5.x onwards actually lets Traveler interact more with the combat aspects of the story. But I feel this is assigning way too much importance to that aspect here too. We largely presume Traveler is getting progressively stronger bc of a brief self reflection he had with Tartaglia all the way back in Liyue. And that was then wondering if them getting tougher had anything to do with acquiring more elements bringing them closer to whatever original power they once had. But we’re also taking that way too out of context. Bc practically speaking, the most we’ve seen Traveler handle themselves is moreso bc of the versatility they get from acquiring said elements, but their proficiency has indeed improved. The real kicker is the context behind their actual and most noteworthy “performance spikes.” And that’s always been when they’re synchronizing to massive amounts of elemental energy under special circumstances and an amalgamation of willpower.

I don’t feel that anime format in itself is the “solution” necessarily either. Bc Genshin’s narrative has also heavily leaned into its own world building and thematic expression that the Traveler themselves is a witness to. What the narrative could arguably lean more into is better tying one chapter into the next organically, and also making said visits to each journey plays a more personal ongoing role into what the Traveler will eventually conclude for themselves along and by the end of their journey. But you don’t need an anime instead to reflect that. Anime can only cover so much that you’re not always going to get the sauce that directly exploring a region as an avatar is going to get you. Right down to how world quests and discovering texts that gradually paint the canvas the world around you is being painted among other elements. The best an anime can likely do is make the Traveler feel more “involved” but it’s not sth I’d say should be exclusive only to this format. Not is it sth I’d hold onto as a clutch either.
