Erosion needn't destroy his body, it can start with memories as well. That is Istaroth's adminstration, not Ronova. The latter gave them a blanket ban from leylines and a natural death. He does not remember his own true name.

If he indeed does have the curse of immortality, then yes he would know he is from khaenriah, but just like traveller who knows they are from the wider universe they have no recollection of it, rendering it meaningless.

Referring on the purpose of the reportaire of memories, Enjou has lost his "atlas" and "song" of khaenriah, and his disagreements with the Abyss Order means he doesnt want their collective recollection of their home but his own. So he heads into mare jivari to see if the windless land could give clues for his forgotten homeland

There is a chance that all of this is wrong and he was from Arcadia or the City of Y's

or that he was just a curious soul from another such deserted kingdom

Another idea I had was Mare Jivari as a windless land when repaired could host the Loom of Fate and establish a new unspoilt khaenriah

and Enjou was drawn there because of it

Anyway the reason Traveller and Paimon would return to Mare for a second time would be for Durin

So It's very likely enjou is the lawawalker of the legend

Erosion effects everyone equally, every Khaenri'ahn we meet in the modern day has a rotted body except Dainsleif because he's unique. The idea is that their life continues while their body rots away as if they were still aging. Think of the Nazgul from Lord of The Rings for example.

Enjou shouldn't be so unique to not just completely rot away despite 500 years passing but also to completely forget his homeland when every Khaenri'ahn remembers where they came from yet lack their personal memories.

Also he just wants to know what his homeland IS not the details of it, if he wanted to know the details of it he would still be with the Abyss Order to try and recreate it.

It just wouldn't make narrative sense if they built up his homeland so much just for it to be the kingdom we already know so much about. There's going to be some twist involved.

Alright so in his monologue about all the ancient civilizations he has seen that aren't his own he didn't mention one that's actually really important to the lore.
Natlantea, the Pyro Sovereign's old civilization
This also ties into Ineffa's quest released in the same version and how Ineffa's other half was desperate for a place to belong since Natlantea was destroyed
Also if we assume he is the Lavawalker there are a lot of odd things about the Lavawalker in the descriptions like how he was completely immune to fire and drank lava but was also immortal and out-lived all of his own students
And his rant about his memories not being his own is very similar to Titu's monologue, who was a vessel for Kukulkan, about how he also had memories that were not his own
So what I'm getting here is that I think Enjou is the reincarnated Pyro Sovereign or at least some kind of dragon from Natlantea
So even though he spent a majority of his life amongst Muratans he still doesn't consider them his "home" just like how Neuvillette never considered Fontaine to be his home at first either
It would be crazy, but in his very first appearance in an event Enjou brings up his theory that there were vishaps who evolved to look human and enter into society and it would be funny af if Enjou was in fact, one of these evolved dragons, plus it would make him helping out the local saurians more sweet as well

She’s not saying that children don’t deserve to have a good life or a stable life or the life that they want.

And in fact, she lets them pursue what they wish in her organization, she ends up participating with them in family activities, as well as other things. Sooo it feels a bit contradictory at first bevause it kinda does feel and appear in her actions that she wants to give her kids some kind of normalcy or at least give them a different life, a home and some happiness. Even if it can’t be fully granted in the organization.

Hell she even lets them go so they can truly be happy.

So it seems to me like another sort of “take that how you will.” Even though her behavior proves that this once again isnt completely the case. If she truly didn’t seek recompense. She would’ve given them the same treatment, the same living life as she had.

But she instead makes things better and even lets them leave. And those who really wanna go and arent completely attached to this organization, she lets go once they fight for the life they want abd show they’re willing to do so. Never fighting them to kill. But to test. And even when they lose, she lets them go still.

Still. Let’s be honest, you can’t beat Arle if you’re a regular ass orphan let’s be fr.

All that to say, she’s being contrary.

And it’s a misdirection

Also her saying “spiders hunt for what they want so we do as well” isnt her saying “it’s natural for them to kill for what they want so we all kill because we want something.” She’s a leader of spies

But it just doesn’t really sit right with her to kill an innocent person or family especially when it’s not necessary and she’s alresdy full or she’s hungry just a little bit. It was really right to her? Sure she knew if she was really desperate she’d had to do what she had to do, but it didn’t sit right with her

But she never gave any fucks about torturing or killing nobles especially seeing their scared bodies tremble before her as she in acts her anti villianous justice by torturing them dear death before feeding.

Something I forgot to mention in my Arle rant is that I genuinely believe Arlecchino lets kids be kids becayse she believes they should have thst opportunity and chance to do so. I don’t think it’s about making them better at their job or making them like her so they’ll stay, I think it’s because she genuinely believes kids should be allowed to be kids once in a while

And she wants the hearth to be more family like. That’s why I always believed the notion that her getting child soldiers was secondary in taking kids in.

She’s got a job to do ( one which implies she doesn’t like)
But also thinks that while they’re there they should at least be more of a family and that children should at least have that

She says she’s not doing it for recompense, but then she wouldn’t even bother with any of what she does for the children. She ended up with beliefs thst children deserve a family unit and should have the opportunity to be relevant close and safe.

Whether she admits it or not. This is an act of recompense.

She just knows she can’t given them all of that. She tries but, she can’t give them what they truly desire, hence she lets them go.

It’s no where implied in the game that she doesn’t think children deserve to have a roof over their head and a family. She wouldn’t have put so much emphasis on such if she didn’t value family to an extent. She wouldn’t wanna protect the children so bad and have this sort of view if wanting them to be separate from the fatui if she didn’t

And she clearly doesn’t take kindly to those who do them sny kind of harm. Whether hers or not.

As she tells Lynette “the man who was about to harm you is no more.” And knowing Arlecchino she probably didn’t sounds too chipper when she said it.

I don’t think this was purely to gain their trust, she couldve just kidnapped kids or something if her primary goal was to them off the street and make them soldiers, she couldve threatened to kill them if they left.

But she doesn’t.

Like she couldve kidnapped them and if they tried to escape or anything she’d threaten them and their families.

But these are straight up orphans eho are alone and sold off, and she saves them from traffickers snd brings them in and lets them do what they wish snd even go if they don’t wanna stay.
