And other pics would be my aunt's golden retriever and my other aunt's lab
He was old and wise, I miss him
Anyway I'm gonna be late for work, cya
"where are you going mother please pick me up"
I took Gracie out today and man, something in that dog unlocked. She got massive zoomies and just started sprinting around our giant yard, running from door to door essentially
My backyard looks like a battleground because of all the claw marks from her peeling out and sprinting like it was a race track
It's kinda funny and sad at the same time, because I'm pretty sure it's the first time she's truly just...ran.
Him staring back at me while I watch videos in bed

Mine hates when I watch stuff in bed. Because then im paying attention to something else while also not sleeping
Lmao. Last night while I was in bed Gracie found one of Griffins old plush toys I kept in my bed because it was his favorite. It has crinkly material in its ears and tail.
Every time I dozed off I heard crinkle crinkle crinkle
Lol
I appreciate the fact that all I have to say is "Is it bedtime for puppies?" and this happens 5 seconds later after I open the door to upstairs
Dude gets so excited any time he's allowed upstairs, whether it's to play "find it" or to go to bed lol
Or to get weighed
You will not see this dog voluntarily lay down at any other time without being asked
That's so cute
She's got her Easter clothes on haha.
Gracie dug up my bed and stole it. Guess I take her bed tonight
He
Sleep paralysis demon
Sleep paralysis demon but awake
He's so cute sleeping on my arm
He found a new Big Stick™ he wants to drag home
Bahaha
She's traumatized because I was gone most of the morning helping my neighbor
I've earned myself the whole lapdog treatment
He looks so happy about it too
Oh he was ecstatic
I was shocked the river's current didn't drag him away as he swam 😭
He scared the shit out of me for a second but came back the moment I asked for him to
Then sat there all proud because he tried to get the wrong stick
Now he keeps going to the window prepped and ready to bark his head off at my neighbors the moment they decide to open their door to come get me to help fix my car 😔
fun doggo
He had fun, yeah
I was hoping it'd tire him out but he still wants to play hours after lol
Learned Gracie is generally friendly toward humans today. She met the mail lady while I was showering.
Came down and she was getting talked to through the door and didn't bark to indicate anyone was here 😅
Well that's good lol
Not necessarily the way I want her to be acting toward total strangers but my mail lady is chill. She was griffins bestie. Used to leave him treats daily in the mail.
I mean, as someone who has a dog who is not like that half of the time when people visit, I'd prefer it over a dog that spazzes out and is a danger to people entering the door
Took me a good two years to get Baron to stop being a hazzard when people visit
Griffin was protective and barked when our driveway alert went off. Gracie gets excited because all she knows about it is three things:
Em is home.
Dad is home.
Or dad's friend is coming by to visit which means she gets extra table scraps
Lol
Yeah no, Baron barks the moment he hears my neighbors open their door because he thinks they always have their dogs with them, so he constantly barks
Then someone would knock on the door and he'd freak out because the first time anyone visited, he was a puppy and my mom knocked and freedom barked (but would never bite) and it scared him shitless to go hide in a dark corner in the kitchen
So he spent 2 years barking any time someone knocked and because he's high strung and a fucking psycho, I wouldn't put it past him to possibly bite someone so I'd have to hold him back so he could sniff after the door was opened and the person walked in 😭
Now he hears a knock and he just stares at the door and then rushes to go say hi when the door is open
I much prefer it to thinking he will bite whoever opens the door and isn't me
Delivery people, mom, my young cousins, etc
Oh my god finally for the first time i have a dog who isn't afraid of thunder.
Nice lol
My dogs were always increasingly more terrified of thunder so I was shocked when grace just laid on the floor chewing on her bone
Took a few photos of her in bed with the flash on. Such a spoiled baby
Yeee
Flat dog
He looks like he wants to be outside enjoying the nice weather haha
I took Gracie to Walgreens today and I turned around and saw two women covering their mouths fawning over her
We took a walk when I finished making two different work meals for the week, then came back so I could make one more so he laid on the floor and waited
That's cute
It was adorable. I love seeing people smile when they see her.
Yee
All I've done is cook, walk Baron, have him freak out because he got startled by a lady with a dog in her car by 7-11, walk home, make more food
I wish I could go places and have people smile at him like when he was a puppy
It was so nice to just see people melt
Yeah I love taking her places for that reason. Like when I was at the TCG shop playing cards a couple customers smiled and noticed her and they're super respectful because shes quiet and nonreactive
It helps that I always put her in shirts to help keep her clean
Just finished the chicken pot pie over noodles
Yeeeeee
Mmm I'm coming to your place for dinner thanks
Np, I have more lol
I was with a friend today and we stopped by the bakery and it always feels extra special when food places are fawning over her because I know I shouldn't bring her in, but she's also always in my arms
I think my favorite moment in owning my dogs is when I drove to my grandparents' house and I had to stop at a red light and noticed the girl in the car behind me smile when Freedom put his head out the window- then she started clapping with joy when Baron stuck his head out underneath Freedom's
Like she was so overcome with happiness in that moment
It was fucking adorable
I had a moment like that shortly after I got Griffin. We were going to my grandma's and stopped at a light and the passenger of the car next to us was so overcome by him that she was crying
There's just something magical about seeing a dog make someone's day
There's always this weird uncertainty I have with Gracie as to how people will react if I go into a store but it usually ends up fine
Gotta take her out places to help her overcome her carsickness
Exactly 😭
Just having them exist bringing joy to complete strangers
Car sickness or anxiety?
Motion sickness in the car isn't something you can just overcome over time iirc
I'm not sure. Probably both? She's a nervous mess so I'm hoping its anxiety.
😭
Hopefully it's just anxiety
Does she eat within a couple of hours of being in the car?
She seems to be getting better though. Like we went for an hour ride to my grandparents and she didnt barf that time
Not usually. I try to be careful about it.
That could also be it, since I couldn't drive with freedom if he ate, since he'd usually vomit even though he loved car rides
Ah okay
That's good
I think she just isn't used to cars. She'd only really been in them for transport up here from OK
Maybe
She's gotten sick three times. Once going to the vet, once going to my grandparents house, and once right when we got home
Also, if you want loaded potato soup, the chicken pot pie pasta, meatballs, or salmon- lemme know because I now have a full fridge
I would never say no to a good chicken pot pie
I was there earlier. I could meet you somewhere though if you're serious. It's not like we live far
Yeah, just lemme know (probably in DMs)
Yeah of course
She blends in between the pillows
One here
The little sippies
This is what I come home to
Awwww she zoomy 😭
This was after she started getting tired too
she's almost impossible to track at first
Lmao
I wish Baron still got zoomies
The last time he had them was when he was a super small puppy and he zoomied straight into a chair leg and he started screeching like he'd broken it and frightened the shit out of me 😭
Coddled his little ass trying to calm him down and make sure he didn't break a bone and when he finally did, he walked fine after and just never did it again
Goddamn bots
Gracie just zooms around her playpen and around the entire yard like a maniac. It's usually when I get home. My mom will bring her out to greet me and she'll just lose her whole ass mind trying to contain her excitement
awwww
I ended up throwing my stuff down and just watching her go for a while until she slowed down and laid down at my feet like "ok mom pick me up I'm done now"
I wish she wasn't so timid outside of the house because man she has such a massive personality
But I get her around people and she just shakes until she stops and just kinda watches me intently
But when she's at home? She's hilarious and an absolute heart string puller
She will whole ass peel out on the lawn and leave cartoon levels of claw marks in the dirt
Another one...
gato 😊
A whole family of cats
Bath day
She's so angry in this one
Aaaaa she's finally learning to go on walks. Still won't do it on a leash so I can't really leave the driveway but it's nice she's experiencing ✨ outside ✨
Saw a big ass tree fall over outside.
My mom and I were sitting on the back deck playing with Gracie and watching the wind blow her fur around, because she's never really experienced wind and didn't know if she liked it or not. So she was being silly about the wind.
Suddenly there's a huge crack and she jumped up and away, and we saw the tip of it as it hit the ground. I'd say it was like 30 feet from us. Dog jumped like 3 feet in the air at the sound
Oh my God Gracie did stairs finally. I went in to get her toy and when I opened the door she kinda belly flopped her way up them after me. It wasn't graceful but she did it
The princess needs his beauty sleep
Doing a deep clean and organizing and found his old harness- he used to be so small that now it doesn't even fit his face 😭
And Freedom's old jersey doesn't really fit him either but he doesn't seem to mind it lol
My mom said it looks like he's wearing a corset
Bahahahaha

Started reading something and it reminded me of that time my driving instructor (late 50s) gave me (17) a printed out list of the top 100 smartest dog breeds from most intelligent to least intelligent after he learned I owned a pitbull and then proceeded to tell me the entire drive that day how my dog will kill someone one day and that he's a beast who shouldn't be allowed to exist
The same dog that cuddled my nephew and never hurt a fly because he'd much rather just cuddle on the couch or eat than do anything requiring exercise like running and attacking 😭
The list he printed for me was to show me my dog was actually stupid regardless of the fact he was well trained and obedient, and that he wasn't smart enough to know right from wrong like other dogs
That's hilarious and also why would intelligence have any influence on the dogs ability to maul someone regardless
I've met some dumb, dumb dogs who could still seriously injure me
I'm assuming he was thinking "well, labs/golden retrievers/border collies are smart and barely bite people" ignoring the fact that they all still do and can do so very often since they're some of the most common breeds out there lol
That or he was going with the savage approach where unintelligent = violent
Which, pits are smart
Yeah but I'm pretty sure he was just going off of personal bias and fear mongering from the news
His entire attitude was just "That dog is dangerous. That breed is dangerous. They should be banned. That dog will kill you one day." And he'd act all smart and had an air like "you're just a stupid kid, let me shine this glorious light on you and help you protect yourself from this thing I know literally nothing about"
One of those people
And tbf, maybe he had a bad run in with a bully breed, or someone he was close to had a bad encounter, it just annoys me when people have those biases and just assume it's every one, regardless of what the people who are with that specific animal every day say about it
Like acting he knew more about my dog than me even though all I did was mention that I had a dog and that it was a pitbull mix (something that literally doesn't exist and would aid in his later pamphlet of dog breeds and their level of intelligence because- wouldn't you know- the list won't have "pitbull" on it because there isn't a singular "pitbull" breed
)
I just called him that because I couldn't remember what the fuck his mom was called because the disgusting bastard who bred her said there was a fancy German name for it but he couldn't remember what it was and didn't like how nowhere will let you keep a staffy with insurance because of the danger they pose
In other news I just saw a cat named "Tabbioca" and I think that is my FAVORITE cat-themed cat name
holy pets
3 birds and a dog.
so what I'm hearing is you have an orchestra at home
They scream.
My entire life is just birds going AAAAAAAAAAAAA in the background from 10AM to 10PM
That photo is a rare time they're all napping and quiet.
The third one isn't allowed out of his cage because we don't want mating and the other two are females I've had for like 3-4 years now.
It's zoomies o'clock
LOL
Was surprised when I asked my dog if I could clean his ears and he got all excited and sat down for me without being asked and stayed still the entire time I was cleaning 😭
I haven't cleaned his ears in like 8+ months, I didn't realize he remembered what to do LOL
Awww
None of my dogs ears really got dirty enough to warrant frequent cleaning 😅 the lab was the only one. Small dogs are the most like, indoor dogs of all time.
Like Griffin hated outside. My childhood poodle also hated outside. Gracie likes outside until there's a scary noise or she like, exhausts herself zooming around.
Griffin was the biggest priss he would literally hold his paws up at long grass as if it wounded him
Tall grass, wet grass, water, gravel, I've never met a dog that wanted to be outside less.
Whenever I clean their ears it's minimal dirt and a confused look at me after like "why are you doing that"
Freedom's would get dirty constantly, Baron's doesn't get as dirty but he'd been scratching his ear a lot so I figured I'd check- I just didn't expect him to remember the routine like a year later because I've only ever cleaned his ears like 4 times 😭
Brought Baron to the dog park to play fetch and get some of his energy out and three guys with two reactive German shepherds/ GSDxgolden walked up and were trying to desensitize them so we all hung out on either side of the fence getting some practice in and it was lovely
Baron did fantastic btw after the first 10 seconds of him freaking out because the more reactive one was barking his head off at him and it frightened him
But he more or less played fetch and just gave the dogs the side eye for most of it
The GSD x Golden mix was so goddamn pretty though I loved him
And he was so chill too after the first few moments
I'm so glad Baron doesn't have to be 100+ feet away from another dog to freak out, but it also causes a spectacle when they come close enough for me to have to correct him 😭
At least while I was waiting in line at Tractor Supply, the people immediately behind me were fine and understood because their dog is reactive towards people and can't go out in public at all
"I drifted through an ant hill and got filthy"
Learned Gracie likes broccoli today. Was making chicken broccoli alfredo and a piece of broccoli dropped. Went to pick it up after I finished mixing everything in and she had stolen it and was gnawing on it in the hallway.
She's snubbed other vegetables before so I was surprised she both ran off with and ate it
Aww
Bnuny
Bnuy
Gracie walked into it a few minutes ago when I took her outside. Absolutely zero reaction. I can't tell if she's just oblivious or doesn't have a reaction to wildlife.
Some new clothes for the princess
