Then he proceeded to still run away in fear whenever I'd move it

I think I'm going to try and get him to a trainer/behaviorist to try and tackle it because my biggest issue is with other dogs

I brought him to a dog park today after work and there was a husky there who was the sweetest thing and he was doing good at first after he stopped barking and growling, he just sniffed her through the fence and would hop away

Then he decided no more sniffing, we nip

And before that he was perfectly fine trying to make friends, albeit nervous and would hop away to hide behind me sometimes

But I definitely don't want him biting, especially when he's going to keep growing 😭

I don't want him lonely like freedom, I wanna bring him to dog parks and camp and daycare to make friends

Yee, I'm thankful that my dogs have only ever been reluctant but never aggressive when being handled

Only one who ever was was Kaia when she got old and dementia, she'd try and tell my brother she didn't want him touching her by snapping at the air near his hand and he'd always laugh and say "that's how she plays" when that was the exact opposite of how she played with literally everyone else

But he'd just say it was because he was special 😭

Freedom you could do a flying flip and he'd be alright with it

Maybe a little perturbed but he wouldn't hate you after

I've played with 99% of his body at some point and he just doesn't care

I whack him on his face with his tail sometimes too because it's so long and he just kinda takes it until he decides to chase his own tail

Although it took me a while to get him to let me see his teeth, despite him not caring when I hold his muzzle

He just would try and play if I tried lifting his lip

So I'm making an attempt to turn it into a command, "let me see"

So far it's kinda working I think

I've checked his teeth several times, as funny as it looks to see a puppy with adult teeth

Little dogs are just so touchy with grooming I feel like. Especially haircut ones.
Poodle only was ever shaved by my mom and so he never got proper grooming conditioning for sure. Idk about griffin

Yeah we always just washed our dogs at home, I can't imagine having a breed you actually have to shave and trim every few weeks

poodle literally grew in rough grey guard hairs like a schnauzer as he got older (i still really don't think he was purebred. Bro had a dachshund chest and a coarse schnauzer like coat texture after he lost his soft puppy fur)

Pepay was really weird circumstances. We just happened to be at the mall and my mom overheard the puppy mill clerk talking about putting him down because he wouldn't eat or drink from anyone.

She was a fantastic dog but it was breaking my heart every passing day to see her in that state while my mom refused to put her out of her misery 😭

Yeah, it's not that she wouldn't eat for certain people anymore, just that she didn't want to eat at all anymore- regardless of what food we gave her

She went from eating about 3 cups of food a day to eating maybe 1/4c a day

Griffin I was at work after pepay died and my coworkers were on petfinder and found griffin and his sister.

He just... happened

Griffin had worms when we got him and we felt horrible for him. The poor little bugger was so damn sweet and was literally days away from dying without intervention

Idk if it was the same for Baron and his whipworms, I just know he was eating like normal but nothing stayed down and digested right

Even after the meds his intestines were still really inflamed so it continued to stay liquid for a good while

I had to give him only pasta, cooked eggs, and sometimes some shredded chicken to try and help his body recover but he ended up eating that for 3 weeks and the vet was like "y'know what, it isn't working so you'll have to buy this bland kibble to help"

It only worked after he got some sort of oral steroid or smth to help the inflammation

This dude's entire childhood has fucked up his growth but as long as he's still healthy that's all that matters

From being told to feed him 1/3 as much as he was supposed to, to him not liking his food and intentionally eating way less than he needed to, to the worms fucking him over for a month and causing him to struggle to keep in nutrients he needed to be healthy, he kinda got screwed for a while

He's doing good now, but it's still kinda funny trying to compare him to other gsds his age

He's like 20lbs less and a few inches shorter

Walked into a huge spider web outside trying to guide my slow ass old man dog down the stairs I hate it here

Last year there was one that made a web spanning a 9 foot gap between these tall shrubs/short trees that are on either side of a walking path outside

And it was just tall enough that I didn't see it in my peripheral, but it was just low enough that it was able to reach the top of my head, and just strong enough that I felt genuine pressure against my head and wondered who touched me

Then looked up to see this massive fucking web and this giant ass spider and I screamed

And ran

And had heart palpitations

It's fair game if they're outside, but if that fucker did that shit in my house he would've immediately been doused in spider killer and set ablaze

I threw two out tonight. And by I, I mean I went to kill him and my mom insisted on rescuing it and scooting it back outdoors.
