Perhaps use the Akashic tome and simply giving everyone all the manuals , either up front or as they first encounter the mod
I think there are things that new players needs to know, that they find difficult in understanding and are unable to find on the internet. Just because they are new to these 2 mod packs BetterMinecraft AND BetterMinecraftPlus. I strongly suggest that there needs to be something that do explain atleast the Basic Things to new players in terms of How to do Quests(WHERE TO FIND THE ITEMS), How to kill OP Super Enchanted Mob and Bosses, How to travel to different Dimensions these were just some of the many basic questions that new players find very hard to answer themselves and just kept dying and dying in the frustrating process of wanting to know more and finding a meaning to all that (unconditionally/unwantedly) or to do anything and that bascially for the majority of players kills the fun. I don't need to say this because its obvious but these guids comes with other benifits like Modderators giving less time towards explainin each and everything to a new players and instead they are helping in other important tasks and more doing important things etc etc. I hope this gets my point through. Have a nice day!
so on the subject of quests, how much is too much? vanilla gives you very little to go on, and people go to external resources to find their answers
in a vanilla+ pack, how much is too much. when does it become handholding
According to my opinion the more quests the merrier. There needs to be something that we follow (objective to be precise) instead of blindly moving forward for nothing.
Sure that gets us a couple of hours of fun but after that it starts to get boring.
are you talking.. stuff to do, or mod pack progression because if you look at blueskies and twilight forest, those quests in the pack are literal progression guides, without directly telling you how to find them.. but blueskies manual is literally sticking out the side of the inventory 🙂
I just answered to your question how much is too much for quests
yes but you said the more quests the merrier
so are we thinking 'gather up 24 blocks of dirt, 16 flowers, 4 buckets of water and a diamond' for making twilight portal quest
or like.. pointing at optional stuff to do there
get the glass sword, find the hiddeen dungeons in ancient trees
that sorta thing
this would be more better for the new players "if they want the extra rewards or grind or adventure for themselves" they could easily do so.
