OK, while idea is great, you can do it yourself by moving to reliable hoster, we do not advise aternos / exaroton for this specific reason that you can't handle your pack the way you want
There's a free hosting method that uses your pc resources, you could try that, would be more stable and modifiable

I get that. It's not my server so I do not have any say in who our host is.
That said, isn't it considered a bug also since it breaks MMCs custom config?

Well you can suggest on moving to more reliable service
And as I've said, it's good idea, this suggestion, but everyone can change it themselves if they use any proper hosting service or if they self host
It may be that configs got reset after uploading pack or just got missed out, many things, idk which is correct, may not even be a bug but more of intended feature as mod default config is that way
