Nope, would make MI too easy
It’s the endgame tech mod of the pack and removing the difficulty of the MI power system would be like removing the half of the challenge that makes it fun
MI isnt really that hard, just sayin. I dont really disapprove of the idea that you should be able to power MI machines using 3rd party mods/power but i also dont approve of it either.
Might as well just remove MI and keep the rest of the tech mods since its so "daunting".
I mean, im a tech player and i mainly deal with MI with bits of ae2/indrev machines. MI in prom2 is meant for end game tech with its own unique mechanics and requirements.
If you can simply power MI machines while using other external power sources then whats the point of having a steam turbine? a fusion reactor? a nuclear reactor?
Unfortunately, MI requires an investment whereas the other tech mods do not.
At least thats my view.
MI doesm’t feel too end game, it just feels really bored and repetitive. You spend a bunch of time making a nice power system with power and then you have to spend a bunch of time doing it again but this time in a way that takes up a bunch of space. I have grinder out MI before and I get that some people like the added challenges but that doesn’t seem worth it considering that the different power system stops so many people from trying the mod in the first place.
MI can be a great mod but the different power stops a lot of people from having fun with it.

Yes, but for the modpack I feel like it would be better if it were less intimidating to new players.

Well if MI got nerfed, there is no late game tech
Not nerfed, there are still challenging parts of the mod, it would just give you more space in your base and make tech less repetative
MI isnt even required, it gives you nothing unique, flight can be obtained from botania much easier imo and with mana mirror thats also fairly easy to automate, indrev mining drig rills can just be used for enough ores for everything except mi. MI is the only energy that isnt boring. Id say it could be cool to have MI energy be buffed compared to other mods and make mi machines take a lot of power to the point where you would struggle powering a decent amount of electric machines with tr reactor/powah energy production, then this would provide a better late game energy production, but its extremely expensive and it still wouldnt be required for the other mods

Imo, the gravichest is better than the botania wings. Plop down an anchor/forceload chunk and you can fly as much as you want without mana restrictions or rather the cooldown.
However botania wings are certainly easier to get.
idc about gravichestplate honestly since theres a lot of different flight methods to choose from, but the efficiency of MI for most processesing recipes is so much better than any other tech mod in the pack that MI needs to be hard comparative to the others
MI is my main mod, I don’t like mixing mods, but I’d also like to see others do MI. They all stop the minute they see its got its own power and cant use what they already worked into their build layout.
You can still strictly use MI power, its not like I’m suggesting to remove it, but I feel like itd make people fear it less
The suggestion isn’t for me, but for others that I see are struggling. I like MI bc its a busy mod, buy I also understand why people stop after steam

MI already has so many steps for each part that that part alone makes up for the complicatedness of being able to use other power, that isnt exactly "easy" to get in the first place.

Well theres a good amount of other tech mods + mi ore processing isnt even the best and def not required, graviplate also isnt required and neither are quarries, other mods offer decent ore processing, flugel offers easier flight and ir offers almost automated orss
So mi doesnt give anything unique at all really
So its literally just a slow tech mod with the entire point being to purely be a slow tech mod
If MI is as bad as you say then why do you care what happens to it?
MI is good. I like MI and I want people to try it. I just don’t want it to be easy. MI is the most worthwhile tech mod in the pack
Theres already multiple tech mods that have what you want, if they did that to mi then it would just be another one of those

I think MI should be able to convert power into Botania mana so I don't have to make a mega spark farm which also helps the server btw.
I think around and up to 20EU = 1 mana point. And should be able to convert it back into MI power 🙂
Less sparks and mana pools floating around = better server performance.
