I discovered the server pack for the modpack version 2.8.6hf doesn't have the updated version of Item Obliterator. It's on mod version 2.2.0, and the fix was applied in version 2.2.1.

Modpack version 2.8.6hf on the CurseForge launcher does have the updated version of Item Obliterator, so the fix will be there in single-player only.

Hopefully the new version (2.8.7hf) of the modpack's server pack does have the updated Item Obliterator.
