#Modpack: Better MC Forge (but may fit in all mo...

please suggest 1 mod at a time, having 5 different mods in suggestions and only 1 of them being remotely addable makes it hard for the suggestion to be voted highly on.
Sorry, I did it like that because everyone just adds a particle, I thought it would be simpler.
everyone if you scroll up suggests 1 at a time even if its a bit annoying when they suggest 50 mods
in total
at least it makes it easier to vote on the indavidual mods easier
Srry, in a moment I'll make separate threads for each mod
Plus also this feels like it should be one mod anyways.
Exactly, that's my point.
Feels redundant to have them separate imo.
Well, following that logic let me suggest a couple more in one thread.
No, I’m saying it’s annoying for devs to have 7+ mods just for particle effects
omg, you guys are hard to convince
We really aren’t, but a lot of your suggestions were things already in packs or don’t fit the pack
its not us you gotta convice its the devs
Well, I think in this case I'm sure it's neither, I think you just don't like them.
True
💀
thats the whole point of a suggestion tho, like it or not
i said having too many in 1 thread isnt good because you cant choose which one can be added or not
and btw, most of these mods wont really work as 1 wakes is for Fabric
not forge
2 mods, out of all of them are actuall native to forge
You haven’t been checking these mods nor modpacks on what they do and don’t have before suggesting.
Checking things like forge vs fabric, or looking for the mod in modpack index pages if it’s in there, or even just playing them helps not only you out, but also us. There could be a mod we really like for packs, but we legit can’t because it either runs like crap with it in the pack in the past, or doesn’t fit for the pack at all for what the devs want for it
I've write that I've tested every single one in Better MC Forge and Sinytra Connector makes those that are for Fabric work in Forge, I wrote it, I have tested them!
its best for the mods to be native to their mod loader instead of using a Experimental mod that can port them over
From your other suggestions, especially for prom
What’s the performance hit like?
especially with cave dust, i could see these being problematic on low end machines
Basalt is an issue already on low end in vanilla usually isn’t it?
yeah
Hence why a lot of people don’t like basalt deltas honestly.
I like them too, but I can understand the rage from them if you don’t have decent comp
omg are you telling me that these little particle mods can seriously affect performance but a giant mod like BetterEnd works perfectly with an experimental mod?
Idk, my PC is decent.
you need to think of Others not just My
suggesting a mod means it gets put into Tens of thousands of machines
yeah, a little mod that has 1 particle can be more worse for performance then a large overhaul of the end if its dont poorly
Well and also better end does cause issues
cough treasure maps bug cough
Well my intention is to suggest mods that I think can improve the experience, I was going to suggest a couple more but I think I can blow up everyone's PC.
go about our comments and messages as you please be it if we are making you mad or not. we are just saying what we have to being staff, mod, and dev of lps
Might be good to consider having a list of questions and if you wanna test stuff out, try doing it on much lower end set ups like lower your ram, view and render distance, etc to those who would have no choice.
Nicole tests her packs all on 4 gigs. Which is the bare minimum for Minecraft.
she does have like a decently high end pc
r we having a party here
Or if you have some spare money to run around buy an actual low end pc to test on if you want.
She does, but she tests on low end requirements to help making sure it can be handled on the potato pcs
fair enough, i tested on my potato pc too and worked wonders
I’m all for improving the experience but performance and stability are important. Just for example we used to have Effective in almost all packs, which is very similar to what you’ve suggested, but it caused major performance issues so now it’s not
i would love for mmc4 to run on 4gigs
Saaame
it’s simply not possible with the mods currently in lol
mmc2 fabric is the only medieval pack that will run smoothly on 4 right now
I’ve had issues with Mmc on a legibility stand point, my brain can’t process the text x.x
hi week
anyone fancy a pizza rn
hi Muon
chicken onion green pepper for me please
i have little to no modding experience but I know that 5 mods is a ton for a few QoL particles, with lag from both bloat and the particles themselves
and if people want client-side mods like this they can just add it themselves
😋
but yea quite the party here
As an example though of too many mods for the same thing: there’s multiple mods that give cute colored options for chests and crafting tables, but up keeping both of those on top of all the other mods in a pack is very time consuming, it’d just make pack devs lives better if it was in one.
Well, test things i think that's the job of the devs, I'm a simple nobody suggesting a couple of mods, it's up to you to add them or not no matter how many positive votes the thread may have.
I'm not mad, but I've always seen admins and devs be very defensive about my suggestions, it's not like I'm suggesting an aircraft or firearms mod to Better MC.
There are technical things about the performance of the modpack that I as a normal user cannot understand, I am only suggesting things, my PC is entry-level, an GTX 1660, 16GB RAM and a 10th generation i3 and it works well as far as I have been able to test.
unfortunately people expect to be able to play modpacks on a 3rd gen i3 with 8gb and no GPU
Or on a school thinkpad. I’d take the i3 over those any day
I understand that perfectly, and I think it's a more sensible response than just telling me that you don't like it because there are too many mods that add particles.
Didn’t say I don’t like it, I think they are cool as well, but thinking for the devs side, it’d be frustrating to maintain.
We could have summarized the discussion to this.
I don’t think this discussion is productive anymore
I admit I didn't remember reading that.
Now that I have some of your attention, can BetterEnd impact performance even if you are not inside the End?
I noticed a slight drop in performance in that update
Or I don't know if it's because of the change from Embbedium to Xenon
This is not the right channel to be talking about performance, if you experienced performance issues after that update you should have reported it in #medieval-mc-forge
Well, I just wanted to take advantage of the dev's presence here.
I don't usually get a response on the general channel.
Muon isnt a bettermc dev
