we also wouldn't be able to modify another mod developer's mod in such a way without doing an entire pull request, as mods also have licensing rules to follow, so this is not up to us
nah that's not a big deal
can be done via datapacks
well, I knew recipes could, but I didn't know if adding a new item or anything like that would be an issue
For that you'd have to create a new mod, you wouldn't necessarily have to do a pull request but you could just make a new mod that adds items craftable with brimstone
I'm not sure if any permissions would need to be had for that though
well, you guys could use craft tweaker
but it's up to you
Most likely not but it depends on the situation
I find it easier to add it in regularly as it's not difficult and the less dependencies the better
no it doesnt depend on situation, you need permission for everything
you arent allowed to change a persons mod and redistribute it
custom mods stay custom until the proper permission is granted to distribute
That's not what I'm saying at all, ofc you always need permission to take someones mod change it and redistribute it what I'm saying is you could add an item in your mod that has a crafting recipe using items from another mod
ah, like our mod that changes thier mod
i mean
maybe?
not sure tbh
yep, and like you said craft tweaker is easier to add it and modify the recipes
that's why i suggested it
so no need to edit through mods and shit
yep and also craft tweaker, a mod that allows you to change recipes without changing other mods, just usin' zen script
pretty nice
there is also addons that allows you to edit create mod recipes
for craft tweaker
imagine you create a recipe with that that allows you to create sulfur for example
or some other stuff
You can easily do that with your own mod I find craft tweaker not useful
why craft tweaker not useful?
Because as I just said it is incredibly easy to do what craft tweaker does with your own mod, and using craft tweaker just adds more dependencies which is not needed
i see
Yea it's literally just one json file to add a recipe lol, no need to use a dependency
