@fervent flume be sure to respond here
What exact step were you at in getting the ATLauncher set up when the error 12175 occured? @fervent flume
in the second picture there is just the slightest answer. it seems to be Jdk install that bricks it
Yeah, what I mean to say is is this as he's downloading the ATLauncher itself or the modpack?
seems like atlauncher itself, the atlauncher download modpack menu looks different from that
i’m sure they will answer better tho
figured, thanks.
so ima butt out now haha
aight man, I'll see what I can do. Peace
Yeah, I'm just tryna do some research on the topic first.
Okay, @fervent flume, do you know what version of Windows you are using? (I'm guessing Windows but lemme know if it's a different OS)
Cool, can you have it check to see if there's any updates available?
there often is but it may not be a fix. If you're cool with it try updating that and rebooting comp while I keep researching.
@fervent flume Lemme know when you get back
Great. First of course, see if you can now download either the modpack via curseforge or the ATLauncher
In the meantime, do you have anti-virus running and if so what anti-virus?
Lets see it
That's a bit too generic to really work with. Try downloading the ATLauncher again and see if that gives the same error as well
Okay, do you know of any firewalls, parental blocks, anything like that?
Alright, then lemme try to give a summary of what the issue SEEMS to be to me:
When you're trying to download these things Windows checks a certificate to verify the file is authentic. Something in that process is going wrong.
your pc just hates us xD
says anything different?
fek
if it fails again, can I have you open your start menu and type "internet options"
Once that opens click on the "advanced" tab and scroll to the bottom. There should be some checkmarks saying "use SSL" and "use TLS". Can you screenshot or tell me which are checked?
or really, just do that with the whole "security" section at the bottom there
oh, that's great to hear. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Just be on the lookout for things failing to download from here. If this is indeed caused by issues with certificates not validating then it's likely to affect other things (unless some automatic update / check fixes the issue by, say, polling new data)
TLDR: This almost surely wasn't a Minecraft issue nor an issue with the modpack so keep your eyes peeled
thank you very much for helping!
