#Performance Test

I've done this, things typically tend to overall load better for me. I got better performance even when having a twitch stream in the background. Two things I specifically noticed was chunks loading faster and the game loading up faster.
okay good
will run this as well today
same stats to report
0 instability or any other issues
i cant be sure the change was massive, but one thing i noticed was dimension waystone teleporting felt slightly snappier
yeah
i forgot which mod
but i think teleportation is faster now
MoreCulling added more aggressive culling features, likely unrelated to the teleportation but should help with FPS
like a flower pot on top of a fencegate, the bottom of the flowerpot is culled
that is wonderful actually, theres many many decoration blocks everywhere in the world
that will help immensely
"Changes:
- useModelShape is now enabled by default. This means that all blocks will be creating there culling shape based on there model. This is a bit of an experimental change, however the performance gains are insane. Stuff like flower pots on top of fences will now cull the top of the fence."
ooh nice, i should probably go to a location with a lot of blocks like that
lanterns and such
Hmm, it is quite possible that Eden Ring could be an interesting place to test. Mycotic lanterns there
bumblezone gardens too
id need to run a test pre-updating those mods but performance seemed really good
If this affects modded blocks, this could break some people’s transparent opening/translucent blocks that they deliberately not cull in order to see block behind it
I guess only if the block isn’t marked notSolid would there be an issue
it might have a check for that considering we've gotten no reports
moreculling has 2~ incompatible mods where blocks like ladders cause issues but the dev is already aware
i understand the concern though
