There is no dimension bellow the bedrock
I once fall in there because of a bug structure geneeation

Find out in spectator, there is a big bug of generation arround the Spawn in a big perimeter

idk about the 1.18, but the 1.18.1 needs some work before being called robust. Some items arent really set up and no matter what u do, everything 1 shots you xD

Here's a guide for the mod LevelZ, included in the 1.18 version:
Blocks and tools, etc are locked because you need skills leveled up enough through the LevelZ mod, steps for leveling:
First, gain normal mc xp.
Second, press 'k', look at your points section, does it say 1 or more?
If yes, then third, upgrade the skill you want, fourth is repeat for all the skills to whatever level you want.
If no, then gain more exp and repeat until finally saying yes
To first get xp, I'd suggest finding some animals to kill to get some xp, you can also meme some of the mobs if you want by killing them from a safe area.
I'd suggest putting some into mining to start with so you can break blocks, gather some ore, and get the xp from coal
I'd also suggest 1 point in farming to get the furnace unlocked to smelt the ore
For the tools, mining controls the pickaxes and shovels, farming controls the axe and hoe from what I can tell. The rest is decently self explanatory
Overall, the start is pretty slow due to being unable to do a good majority of things, but after you get the basics sorted out, it'll get better.
Make sure to invest in strength to allow access to swords early on too.

Java 17, install it, restart your comp, try to launch, it's fixed it for a few people that way

there's no lvl requirement and there's no recipe for the cool weapons
another issue, if u die with a lot of levels and pick up ur grave u level up a lot in LevelZ
That's a known thing that's a conflict between LevelZ and the grave mod that is in the pack, I'll see if it's on their issue page and that later. Essentially not something we can fix. LevelZ seems to have a bit of conflicts between xp mods that results in exploits

Esc > Mods > Search "LevelZ", click on it and then the config button, and disable Mob farming or whatever it's called

on curseforge it is specified that the mod is compatible with 1.18 and not 1.18.1 (Eldritch mobs)
@gloomy sable try and see if there is a more recent/downgrade of the version and try again. Like i said before, 1.18.1 isnt exactly stable and the devs are working to improve it

Try clearing any JVM args you've entered into the CF app, and then before you hit the play button on the vanilla launcher that pops up - go to the advanced settings and reset the JVM args there also
or try reinstalling Curseforge

Hello! I just saw that the fabric version of this modpack got ported to 1.18.1 and i've updated it on curseforge but how would I do the port on a server? I have a bisect server for the modpack and I do not see the 1.18.1 version in the jar installer list

@umbral linden The problem with the wiki is that even putting a point into mining I can't mine sand ta make glass bottles for water bottles and I can't mine copper to make a cauldron
The blocks being locked is an entirely different mod than hydration, I more meant look at it to see the starting way of drinking water until you get your exp up and unlock enough mining to get sand and copper, etc

Sometimes it doesn't feel like showing all the versions for people, sometimes uninstalling and reinstalling it works, other times you might just have to upload it direct from the curseforge website by downloading the correct version's zip file and uploading that

I'm going to say whatever difficulty you want. I don't think there's anything that modifies the mobs' stats so it shouldn't break. Best bet of course would be normal but if you wanted easy/hard, should be fine. Though I haven't really done anything other than normal so I'm just going based off my experience with some other mods

That's a conflict between LevelZ and the way other mods handle XP. I'll get around to reporting it sometime but no idea if they'll fix it

Sadly there's nothing we can really do since it seems LevelZ hates the way any other mod handles xp, this isn't the first mod I've seen have xp issues
There were others reported with the same xp exploit issues from the way they handle XP in general

Well, sorry to hear that. Running modded mc can already be heavy on a computer, but running shaders on top of that can only make it worse
Question: what’s the difference between this version and the forge version? I saw the fabric one had around 50 less mods in its mod folder than forge
That is indeed one of them, main difference, mod count is less than the forge and the content itself is different for the most part. There's also mc versions to think of as forge 1.16.5 is the one with the most content but doesn't really have all the 1.18 features since some of that can't be backported to it.
And of course the performance and ram differences. Forge has a bit less of performance and requires more ram allocation

I checked the pins and guides first and was able to solve most of my issues, you could also use the search function in the channel to see if other people have already answered/ troubleshot your issue

1.18 does not have a quest book.but you can press l to look at achievements you can get and use that as a guide
the white specks are from you being cold
what version are you on? in 1.17 you boil it using a copper cauldrion (recipe) over a campfire. in 1.18 you can do that or use kelp in a brewingstand with dirty water
i think diamonds have the same spawn as 1.18 which would be best at level -59 if im not mistaken

Hey all I'm looking for some help deciding on playing either this or medieval forge and was wondering 2 things, one how stable/glitch free does the fabric version seem and how much different is it than the forge version, i.e. are there a lot of mods not yet updated to 1.18 that are pertinent to this modpack?
Making a small server with friends as well which is important*
1.16.5 forge has the most mods overall out of all the packs, it however requires the most ram out of the packs. Fabric has less mods but better performance and ram needs. There's quite a bit of Forge mods that are not on Fabric, so the experiences between the two are quite different, as for the Fabric 1.18 mods and whats the most important, not sure. I've only played the 1.16.5 forge version
And both packs are pretty stable, with pretty much all being able to play it without any major issues, of course that's not to say it's issue free. All packs have mod conflicts and bugs in them but its rare, if you find one, feel free to report it in #857596859275280404
the 1.18.1 fabric pack has been stable for us, although we've tweaked a few of the mods (disabled levelz for example)
there are a lot of mods from the forge side that i wish were in fabric: most notably Create

i love the exp system, just wish we started off with bottles or something for the dehydration mod. also the stat system is easy to cheese by having a bed. when you die and reclaim your body, the exp orb left behind doubles all of your rpg exp. with a quick cycle of throwing yourself into a fire after getting out of bed, you can max out your skills within 5-10 minutes
this may be mitigated by changing out the grave mod with something that doesnt preserve the exp
or changing some configs
Does the order of the resource packs matter? I'm trying to get 1.18.1 fabric on a server. We're all connecting and things appear to be working, but the UI is different for a few of us.

The levels and dehydration are from LevelZ and Dehydration (yes, that's the mod's name) respectively. You should be able to remove those without issue from what I know of
What about the class selection?
Yeah i got rid of dehydration too. Mod just isn't complete enough to be fun. only a few ways to get water, almost no foods are considered hydrating, the foods that do hydrate are guesswork, the list goes on. Disabled.

the dehydration mod is a pain in the ass. you should be able to get water from like, idk, drinking it from the source? and to purify it is the most convoluted shit. why can i not just toss the bottle in a furnace and be done with it? and i like water species from origins and i have to eyeroll all the time when im deep in the ocean dying of thirst. i dont disable it simply because i want the full modpack experience, but man do i hate it. it just aint well designed at all.
seriously, its such a critical mod that kills you if you dont put it as a priority, but it has the largest gates ever. in order to get your FIRST drink of water you need to have mined plenty of copper and iron, made a furnace and a campfire, god help you if you are in the mountains with no access to sand to make the glass, craft a copper pot, then add a chain to the pot, attach it specifically to the campfire which requires special knowledge not gained from anywhere else but its fricken' wiki. and then you have to fill the pot up with the bucket and wait so that when you apply the glass bottles it doesnt register as not purified, which sometimes is a crapshoot cuz it does it anyway. and then and only then may you DRINK A GLASS OF WATER. but only four! you need to repeat the process for every fourth gulp and each gulp barely does shit. so you are sitting there doing this at most, 2-3 times. 3-4 if you want spares to clutter your inventory for a trip.
and because the steps are so specific to reproduce, clean water is impossible on a long trip and youll never have the space to keep it if you brought it
also just having a single bottle you use to just drink filthy water is all you need, the other canteens and stuff are useless. because filthy water debuff barely even ticks so there is almost no punishment for it.
Yeah, I think it's just a flaw of the lack of a really thought out fabric version of all the hydration mods on Forge. It's not the first I've seen where the idea seems to be a poorly ported version of the Forge variants

Not sure if here is the right place to post this but I am hosting a 1.18.1 Medieval Fabric server and I can connect just fine and play, but my friend connects, falls through the world and then gets timed out. Medieval is way more learning. It's like a new game. There are a ton of item, boss, everything.
If you go for Medieval 1st you might get headache more than funny. (Better will help you understand 1/4 of Medieval I think.)

After 5 days (IRL) on Medieval Minecraft Fabric 1.18, my conclusion is that there is no balancing, that mobs are and get way too powerful over time, and that there are way too many bugs because of a lot of incompatibility between mods. Too bad.
humm...i feel a bit differently. yes there are bugs. but i feel the balance is ok. they start off hard but as you level up and balance your skill points it becomes almost laughably easy. IE when i first started i was getting killed left n right. but after raiding some villages and levling up i can now 2 shot a brute with 0 armor and 0 weapons
yeah i think better balance will come over time

thats valid. its more than annoying thanhard tbh. mostly because once you get past a level the peck damage is nagated by healing factor

BUT when I die there is the XP bug that makes I have more XP than before I died so at one point I get to have an iron shield BUT a basic skeleton oneshot me with the shield raised ... etc ...And yet I like the difficulty and a slow progression ! but this is just not balanced

1.17 spawn is coming along. so...much...deepslate...i havent even gone into making glass yet
looks like a semi-work around is also using the knife on rice with the FD cutting board

something else related to FD, there doesn't seem to be a way to "choose" the crafting outcome if there are multiple mods that use the same recipe. for example the FD iron knife is the same recipe as the MCDW dagger
and the dagger takes crafting precedence it seems

not that i've seen, but in some ways removing it may also make things harder since mobs still get more difficult from RpgDifficulty mod
unfortunately no, not really, Kibe is included which adds some "machine" type things but it isn't any where near as big as create/immersive

i installed via curseforge app, and it tells me in a red font "Shaders are built into the Modpack with Iris Shaders Mod!" but the game doesnt look very shadery and the "shaderpacks" folder is empty.

the default shader is very true to basic minecraft but you donget dynaic lights. that and it works with the seasons plugin

Hi Everyone. Running one version below the latest on a server (will likely update) but there seems to be a weird interaction between RPG difficulty and Tiny skeletons. Most mobs seem to have caps on their stats. since i am running a server these stats seem to have already increased to their max (~1 day) which i think is due to the time passed. for Tiny skeletons i think they don't have a cap on melee damage. In melee they one shot any player and seem to destroy their armor (i am assuming there is enough damage to destroy all durability), in ranged they do normal arrow damage. Is there an easy way to remove them such as editing a config file with their spawn rate (set to 0%). I am reluctant to remove the mod to avoid other issues.

@faint surge i have read online that providing too much ram can actually cause lag spikes when java tries to dump the unnecessary data, so maybe try reducing how much ram youre allocating

8gb works fine, its what I have as my default for all packs
5gb is the recommended for fabric med mc, but 8gb shouldn't have a lag issue
could try some different java arguments, java is notoriously bad at trash collection, and spikes like that are typically related to that

Sometimes it helps to uninstall any java you have, reinstall 17, restart the pc, and then try again. It's worked for some people although not all

you'll likely want to immediately upgrade to a forge controller, since it allows you to create alloys and also can give you more yield depending on the tier of the forge
an endstone forge is the highest tier, its recipie is as follows @woven hamlet
but if you're not at the end yet, a deepslate forge is just one tier below

nah, the higher tiers actually give you more materials
deepslate forge is just as easy to get as a stone brick forge though, and it's a tier above, (tier 1 vs tier 2)

Crucial thing about REI, you can left click the item to see how it's made, and right click to see what you can make with them
Left clicking the platinum will give you this screen, showing the different ways you can make it, such as the smelters and forges in the tabs at the top
and right clicking will give you these screens, which will show you that platinum is really used for much else besides making other alloys
so yeah, main thing to remember about REI: Left click to show how to make it, Right click to show what it makes. and this can apply to any item you see In the menu as well, so if you don't have the right crafting station, left click it at the bottom to see how to make it. ok so in 1.17 every 5 levels you get a point. you can add that to a stat and it boost it. its not tied to what you can or cannot do.
in 1.18 though...every 5 levels you get a point. which you can then add to a skill. you have to level up those skills to a point to do anything. and the higher the skill the more you can do. but you only get ONE point every FIVE LEVELS. which..is...very annoying because iron is a leve..i wanna say 5 skill? which means if you dump all of your points into mining you have to be level 25 to get iron and level 26 to even SMELT the iron

oh and also in both levels you cant just build a single mob farm. because there is a cap to how much EXP you can get in an area. so having 2 farms in 2 different places is best
oh and in 1.17 you can get these things called Tomes which are basically paper forms of levels. every tome boost you by 1 level. which you can farm.

yep. its annoying. thats why i stick to 1.17 for now untill 1.18 figures itself out
1.18 is fun if you enjoy a deep grind at the start of your game. 1.17 feels easyer because you dont have to go threw that. but with my 3 punch wither thing going on it is incredibly easy to get op fast in 1.17 which some might find gets boring fast

Mobs which used to drop leather, now drop hide which has to get prepared with sugar and dried at the wood rack to get leather now.
Rottenflesh can be combined to rotten leather which can get dried to get hide.

Hey all, I'm a bit new to hosting a server... is there an "easy" way for players to update when these new packs come out? Is there a setting I can use to allow the client to update from the server?
go to your saves folder and delete the latest entities created in the entities folder, if its still there delete the next latest set of entities
Sadly no, to update the client, they can just use whatever modpack launcher they are running and do the update there, really easy
Yeah, I have instructions on "manually" setting up the client and upgrading but hoped for an easy solution for them. Thanks!

Iris Shaders doesn't have the functionality for shader options yet, there are supposedly some ways you can work around it but i'm not super familiar with them but you might be able to find something
my partner is playing as a Siren and she gets the underwater vision
that's from the "Inventory HUD" mod, you can disable that onscreen display in the config
The Phantom description has some text at the bottom that users aren't supposed to see. (power.origins.phantomize_)

i just wanted to see it all with default textures but i didn't know if that would leave some things looking wrong/bad
honestly not sure, you could try moving the "Default" resource pack to the top of the list

I was curious if anyone else is taking damage when phasing through or am i just doing something wrong as the phantom
server crashed and gave me this crash report
moving the default resource pack to the top seems to have put me in an infinite loading screen. the blue bar at the bottom keeps filling up and resetting. it's been a while now.
were you in game when you made the switch? you might need to force quit, change the resource packs, and then join a server
