I put it on 6.9 GB, 6900 or so MB, and it ran at 60 FPS with my RTX 3060 and NVme m.2 SSD.

It does lurch when it loads chunks, obviously. But all modpacks will have that.

Obviously you need to have cheats enabled to use it. iirc, they only spawn in vanilla jungles. Not edges/bamboo/etc.

If you have Nature's compass or an alternative, you can use it to find a normal jungle too.

Yeah, you have to use the special eyes in this modpack, in order to get to the End.

You could theoretically just use commands to place an end portal block then jump into it. (Which I had to do once in a vanilla game because I accidentally punched them in creative mode, lol.) But that would be cheating.

I didn't have a problem going to the nether when I placed it via creative mode via vanilla lighting an obsidian frame. In fact, this modpack allows you to light it even if part of the frame is crying obsidian.

That's because forge and fabric are different things, both each have their share of mods and can be on both sometimes, but this means that not all mods can be transported from forge to fabric

If a mod exists on both and isn't doing what it's supposed to do it could be the config of the mod

Sometimes it disappears when I get close enough and comes back when I get farther away. That said in another area of the map I get this again but when it dosn't go away and it will block line of sight through it even extending down into a cave below it.

dumb question - would replacing iris with sodium improve performance sans shaders? my computer can't handle shaders in the first place - which makes it rather obsolete

and looking at the profiler - mob ai is 99% of tick usage - and 99% of server profiling.

unspecified: averaging 50% of any AI sub-category - sometimes 80%

this is without the medievial entities mod & extreme measures taken for performance boosting.

A temporary fix for this will be removing the medieval entities mod, it worked for me after checking crash logs, a slight problem could arise such as "Ticking Entities", you could remove them from the world to stop it kicking you, but so far that hasn't worked for me

Note about the crash above: If you get the crash or see someone else report a crash similarly caused by the golem with a name that is in a village, have them remove this mod: Villager Names (Fabric). It is what is giving the name and perhaps related. If not, then you can just add it back in without issue since it wouldn't be the cause.

Hey - anyone interested in my version of medieval minecraft v24?
First off - removed iris and added in other performance boosting mods - boosted my tps from 1 to 7 with a profiler and smooth performance overall
second off I nuked all the non-critical texture packs to improve performance as much as I could humanly can.
so far it can run on my half-potato laptop with no dedicated graphics - with minor stutters for worldgen - but I would expect many others would get significant performance increase & a fixed version.
I do not know if villager names breaks golems with my version - but in a stoneholm I found one that generated perfectly fine.
I also have not had any random crashes yet from axolotls or the like.

(probably the biggest helper is adding lithium)

Updated to v24 and it ran well for a while, but we entered a palace and started having issues. Entity Ticking (arrows, husks..) mostly.

If you are getting crashes from entity ticking from other entities that aren't the golems or Axolotl, then it's probably safe to say it's not that one village mod and is instead something else that was added/updated in v24

It's probably safe to say the village names mod is alright to keep in as it most likely is not actually causing the crashes related to the golems. I had thought that was the cause before knowing there were more mobs having the entity ticking crash happen, I had only known of the golem in the village at that point and saw the mod modified it slightly.

Started playing this modpack about 6 days ago with my partner, been having a really great time with it!
But yesterday, we updated, and now I cannot remain connected to the server. My internet seems to be fine, flushed DNS, reset everything, fresh installed three times, nothing seems to be working. Keep getting Connection lost and my partner gets an error saying 'Could not be synced because server networking isn't up yet'
We've checked, all of our mods seem to be the same version, we've both done a fresh install, tried deleting my character save, have no other connectivity issues to vanilla minecraft, just this modpack. I can connect to single player, just fine.
Anyone might have a clue as what to do or perhaps be having the same issue? If it's just me, I can at least narrow that down.

As for this, it seems to me like it depends on what you're going to be fighting. I had a good time with long reach items like the Glaive and Scythe, but some things seem to have a better playstyle against certain things, like how some silver does more damage to undead.
Just go through and look for a few different weapons that seem strong and try them out.

We are dealing with the same issues. We are waiting for our hosting co to update to 24.5. We are hoping this fixes the issue. We were also having issue with the Golems ticking and crashing the server when fighting the forest knights so we got rid of medieval entity. Then we discovered that the Golems that have names are ticking and crashing the server. I can play but other members of the server can’t even get on. So, we are just waiting to update to 24.5 as 24 seems to have the issue.

My biggest issue and for the one other person that did manage to get on once he removed medieval entity from his client side; the Golems with names. They tick and crash the server. Not sure why we got kicked off the last time as I just gave up. The server crashed repeatedly in the 3 hours we tried to play. So, we are just waiting for the host to upload 24.5 so we can update our server. Then I will do it.

So I'm running into issues with my server crashing with v24.5. It seems to be having issues with a specific village when generating chunks in the overworld. Having an issue where my movement speed in the game for some reason is much faster than normal. No effects, have used the /scale set motion command a few times to reset it, my movement speed is only normal if I am scaled down to the size of a Fae. When scaled up, I am very fast. Clean slate, no dexterity or anything. Can't find much in the configs that changes this either.

Some friends and I wanted to start a server on "Medieval Minecraft" mod. For some unknown reasons, 1.16 version is way too laggy. We then wanted to launch a 1.17 server with the 24.5 hf version. However, the MTX server server didn't start with this version. Hence, we managed to start the server on 22.5 version. But there's a slight problem : One of us, who "owns" the server, is the only one able to connect. The rest of us have the game crashes when we try connecting.
Any help ?

There are several books in the game, a few that you start with, but they can explain at least some of the stuff.
As for the thirst system, you have to drink water, but most water is considered dirty so it will make you thirsty. You have to purify the water, typically by boiling it.

I don't actually know if there are any guides just yet though, the modpack seems relatively new.

You can create waterskins that will hold your water. You can also fill water bottles. Then, to purify the water, you boil it. That's the quickest easiest method. If you check @dehydration in the JEI, it should give you all of the items added by that mod specifically. There are other methods of obtaining thirst such as soups and eating melon.

Try and see if there are any types of food such as soup available for you in the Nether. Or if you can find a melon in a chest or something.

I'd personally recommend making your way to the overworld and having a tiny base, but I know that may not be preferable for your playthrough.
Just having an overworld base where you can store your purified water is nice, but my partner and I have been subsisting entirely off watermelon and it works out perfect.

Easiest methods I've found have either been using a Waystone (I usually steal them from villages, but you can craft them), or loading everything you can into a single chest, your inventory, and your backpack (minus one slot) and then shift right clicking with an open hand on the full chest and carrying it to the location. Obviously it's very slow on foot, but if you have a mount. Horse, mythic mount, etc. It makes it 100x faster.

As well as having a mount with inventory storage.

There are also several other methods of teleporting, including cauldron teleportation and a tome of teleportation. I have not used these two methods, but they're in the game if you'd rather try them.

Oh, also you can remove your backpack and it will keep the items in it. I'm unsure if this allows you to carry multiple packpacks with items filling them, but I would assume so.

I haven't found many alternatives to just regular chests and barrels, however there is a mod called charm that adds crates. They only storage a single type of item, but they can store a ton of it.
Also testing the backpack method at the moment to see if it's feesible to use backpacks as storage that you can put in other storage.

All you need to to do is just make a backup of the world, just manually saving it somewhere else works, then update and your world should still be there for you to play on. The backup is in case the latest version is not working out. It allows you to still have your world for the version that did work.

It should be, I don't personally run servers, but every time you are gonna update either the client or the server, always backup the world so that way you have a failsafe in case the newest update broke something (happens rarely).

Hello I am having trouble with this one overworld building, it keeps spawning this accolyte mob in the attic of the building. There is no spawner in sight. I want to use the building as a house would that be possible? I set the game to peaceful just so I could try and find a spawner but there is nothing.

Modern versions of minecraft (1.13+) and respective modpacks tend to require high single core performance. For instance, I am running my 1.17 server with this modpack on a Ryzen 9 3950x which has higher single core performance then say an Intel Xeon E2236 or older cpus. Minecraft is not optimized to be multi-threaded and giving it more ram often gives diminishing returns. Also, if you haven't already, make sure to add aikar java flags for startup.

The game crashes when you add optifine because this is Fabric, not Forge. Also the sodium mod is in the iris-and-sodium-mc1.17-1.1.2+build.9.jar file, it's a combo of both sodium for performance and iris for shaders.

Uh, from what I know of, optifabric is not worth the time and effort because it's not as effective as sodium, and there's various issues with it

Hey guys, I didn't want to start a ticket for this, but a friend of mine is having Low FPS with this fabric version

Drivers/Windows up to date
Tried Allocated up to 16gb RAM
Med* Minecraft Fabric v24.5 hf
Launcher: CurseForge

Where this gets weird, is that his fps is the exact same (40-50FPS) when using --

• Complementary Sharers High Render Distance (20)
• Complementary Sharers Low Render Distance (2)
• No Shader High Render Distance (20)
• No Shader Low Render Distance (2)

CPU/GPU utilization low

Where should I be looking to try to solve this? (java version? etc etc) he's not tech savvy and I don't use windows

Extra: I play on linux and my performance is phenomenal (160+ w/ shaders. 400+ without) albeit, with slightly better computer specs

Low fps using shaders directly correlates to the performance of the gpu. The gtx 1070 is getting a little older now and may not be able to perform as well with newer versions of Minecraft. The shader mod in this pack, Iris, as far as I know doesn’t have granular controls over shader features meaning that the shader could be running at the highest quality presets which require more resources.

The 1070 can run shaders just fine, I've used it plenty of times on my old rig with shaders with no issues. The unknown factor here is actually the lack of variation between the settings/shader.

If it was GPU, there should be a change in FPS with shaders vs no shaders

Fixed: Friends B350 had CPU clock speed frozen at 2.2ghz (probably for years). Needed a BIOS update to fix. 100fps or so now w/ shaders!

@unreal wadi There's a brewing recipe for a bottle of purified water. Too much work IMO. Melon restores some water as an alternative.

So demonic pacts from bewitchment show a cost of 1-3 hearts, but if you have much higher health due to constitution, your health drops FAR more.

Instead of 24 hearts becoming 21, health is dropped as if max health is 10 hearts. So I wind up with 7 hearts, and my extra health from constitution is useless. This includes pledging to a greater demon. I assume this is a bug.

Harvest staff will use bonemeal in your inventory to grow crops youve planted the seeds of and provide you epxerience per harvest. Its useful for quick levels.

It doesnt work on melons or pumpkins but it should work on any other crop

One of the reasons we started playing the fabric version of medieval Minecraft is we loved the idea of all the other worlds we can explore. So we fired up a server and we, being a small group of friends of 7 or so... started playing . We got geared up and made bases. We updated the server hoping it would fix a few bugs like the memory leak that seems to be happening.. (it did not) and promptly found out.. all other worlds were removed from the pack except the Aether which is not a complete world to begin with. Are we going to get the other dimensions returned at some point? Its still in the promo video. (I most likely will need someone to ping me on the response for this) Thank you!

Yes, you can download the server pack from the Curseforge page in the files section, navigate to the version you wish to play on. Should help explain the process, if you have any issues with that, sadly I won't be of much help. I've only used a server hosting service to do it for me so they handled anything that went wrong.

Forge has the most mods, fabric has better performance. Essentially if your computers are with 12gb+ of ram, and wish for the most content possible, then forge would be good for you, if you or any of your friends have only 8gb of ram total, then fabric would be the one to run.

You'll need to add in your own shaderpacks to iris, probably in the same way as optifine but not sure as I haven't used it. Keep in mind not every shader will work on iris. What is built in is shader support, not a shader itself

Every couple days I start taking damage until I'm down to half heart and it won't stop until I take some other sort of damage (like falling, lava, a mob, etc.) This keeps happening and there seems to be no source I can find. Press 'k' to open up the LevelZ screen, you have 5 points at the start, I'd suggest putting them into mining first, you gain more through gaining EXP I believe

This is caused by BiomeInfo. I couldn't find a config so just disabled the mod in CurseForge.

Anyone finding that you can abuse LevelZ by dying then getting your levels back from your gravestone? It seems to provide a substantial boost in levels

Ah, alrighty, the only part I don't like is the lack of the any starting points, you only get that with bonus chest enabled, which screws over people on a server by making a pointlessly tedious start

Oh, then what I said applies, max level is at 20, you can increase it if you want in the config, but you'd have to increase the max level stat bonuses too alongside it

This is what I mean by the stat bonuses btw, they seem to be hard coded to have a max, rather than just a simple equation that scales. I could be wrong tho, seems a bit complicated for no reason.

pretty much increasing the max level just seems to mean that it takes longer to get those max stats

You have to open the LevelZ skill panel and level up whatever skills you want. Mining level 4 unlocks stone.

I think the default key is E but you can check in the Key Binding settings to see what it's set to and change it if you want.

I didn't have any issues, for the sake of it, can you try getting the zip file from Curseforge's website, and uploading that? I'm assuming you are trying to download through the curseforge launcher?

Hey, so I'm running medieval minecraft 1.12.2 and it starts I start a new world it loads but it freezes when it says joining world.

Do you by chance mean better mc 1.12.2? Or a medieval mc pack that is 1.16.5+? Also make sure you have the correct ram allocation assuming you have enough ram for it, along with not doing anything else on the pc, when you go to create/join a new world, leave it to load, don't alt-tab or click out of mc.
