ok ... after much trying, reinstalling, manually selecting, forced launching. can't get either better mc or medieval mc to work. and another pack doesn't ( mc unknown ).
but enigmatica, limitless, moonlit myths and every other 1.18+ modpack i have installed launch with no issues what so ever. a pity, but i'm done messing with it. as far as i can recall, these 3 packs are the only ones that have ever given me this issue, so it probably isn't even java related.

Hi there - love this modpack ❤️ Just tried to host on a server first time yesterday (bisect hosting) - bought the modpack auto-install for the server and it's all up and working great. But the server started itself in the middle of the night? I'm a noob with servers so any pointers on obvious things to look at would be great. The only reason I'm bothered about it is the Serene Seasons clock ticking while we're not playing (only 3 of us, on at the same time), it'll make the crop farming/survival bit impossible. thankyouu have a great day all

forgot to say: it happens intermittently. sometimes every 15 min - sometimes evry 30-45 min. its kinda chaotic and scares me what if it happens in combat. other than that it runs smoothly.

Hey Guys, why does my server crash like every 5 mins after we join on it. It says that the Server cant keep up and is running behind. But my CPU and Ram are nearly not fully used. I even set Max Tick size to -1. But nothing helps. I set view distance to 6 but also didnt to a thing. The Weird Thing is that there is the regular Server Console in Black and a second one which is smaller and in White. I had something similar happen but it was Forge 1.18.2 version of the game. I think the problem was that I had built my storage facility right on the edge of a chunk and some of my containers crossed that threshold. Using the FTB interface to claim the relevant chunks (and chunkload them) seemed to resolve the issue for me. Not sure if this applies to your situation though.

That is a tough one to answer. As the java version of minecraft is essentially running in a virtual machine (because it's java), there are bottlenecks to how much access it has to system resources (CPU and RAM). You could be running your server on a beast of a machine and still get that message simply as a limitation of what you can do with java.
You may be able to alleviate some of the overloading, however it depends greatly on the environment you are running in. If this is a dedicated server running on a hosted service, the answer may be to upgrade to a higher package with more CPU and RAM, then making sure you allocate enough RAM in your config to take advantage of the extra memory.
It's a delicate balancing act however, as if you use too much RAM the operating system may lack resources it needs to run things. If this is running on a personal computer, then aside from the RAM issue, you could also prioritize the CPU thread that the server is running in, but that's also risky if it happens to be the same computer you're using for other things.

Hello! So I wanted to try the modpack so I downloaded it. I am having issue with the game freezing every few seconds. I made the graphics fast, turned the clouds off, made the view distance 8 chunks, turned the particles and smooth lighting low, turned off the vignette and turned chunk fade in quality to fast. go to mod settings, search ice and fire, configure generation then dragons
you will find the dragon roost chance which you can change
the smaller the number the more dragons will spawn, the higher the less dragons will spawn
the number you input is 1 out of that number for chance to spawn per chunk (16x16 cube)
i keep mine less than 100 usually when i am hunting dragons

In order to use OptiFine, follow the steps below:
For 1.16.5 Forge: Remove Magnesium and Dynamic Lights Reforged, add OptiFine HD U G8 to the mods folder.
For 1.18.2 Forge: 1.18.2 comes with Oculus that gives you Shaders with 90% less load times. If you want to use Optifine then remove the Oculus, Rubidium and Dynamic Lights Mods then add Latest 1.18.2 OptiFine to the mods folder.
Optifine Issues are not Supported in the Github however it shouldn't be an issue asking in the Discord for help.

sometimes the world gen just screws you over, it won't always actually generate a portal but wherever the eye is stopping there was meant to be one
you'll probably have to travel far away and find another, unsure of the stronghold generation in this modpack but in vanilla quite a few generate now compared to older mc where you could only find them within like 20k blocks from initial spawn

I should put this here even though it was a while ago, while playing this modpack there were a few big imbalances but the one that was huge is the apotheosis mod mixed with this other mod (this is gonna be a messy explanation) so for the 1.16.5 version of medieval minecraft I got a sword with a high looting enchant and another enchant called knowledge of the ages which I also got a decently high enchant for those two mixed with luck you got to end of kill an enderman and this will sound like an exaggeration but I promise it’s not (knowledge of the ages turns mob drops to exp) you kill and enderman and I started with getting 70 levels per one enderman and I jumped to getting like 500 after upgrading luck a fuck ton
