Hi there~ Minecraft 1.16.5, last version from CurseForge. Playing with a friend via lan connection. He can destroy blocks, but can't pick up destroyed items (earth blocks, trees, etc) or loot from monsters - only generated in chests. Is it supposed to be like this?
No. Is he right clicking/pressing shift? You don't naturally pick up items in the pack, you have to either right click on them or sneak on top of them.
Is there a secret for finding the Netherite Monstrosity or do I just have ass for luck?

Hello, the medieval modpack seems to have Origins. I just don't understand how it has all the origins from the "Medieval Origin Mod", cuz that mod needs Fabric API to work? I really want to know how this is possible, or if its another mod that is a complete clone of it
There is a forge-port of the Medieval Origins mod. The forge version is called "Collection of Singiro".

The only useful part of the mod is the armor-HUD next to your hotbar so you can see the durability.

Does anyone know why I'm not able to open my backpack (travelers backpack) while its on my back?
I had a similar issue in another version. You could have overlaying key binds and just need to set a new individual one to open your backpack
I dont think that's it because I cleared all of my other keybinds and there were no overlaying ones
Make sure you don't put it in the back curios slot but rather hold the backpack in your hand, open it and press the "Equip" button at the bottom left inside the backpack. Then you can use the keybind to open it.

Optifine prohibits modpack authors from adding it to modpacks. So you have to do it yourself if you want to use that mod.
Make sure you remove Magnesium and DynamicLights from your \mods folder if you do.

What you can do is delete the \config folder on your client.

It should be enough to delete one of them only. You see, the "incomplete set of tags" error usually appears when there is a difference between the server's and the client's config files.
So you can either delete one of them or replace the client's configs with those from your server.
If it still gives the error please send the latest.log from your client this time. Perhaps it gives more information than the server's logs.

Hmm, I'm not sure but it seems to me that your server doesn't actually load the mods.
Perhaps you can watch a tutorial how to install Forge and set up your server again.

But yeah, good thing it's all getting back to normal, and there's no rush to getting back to playing stuff, sometimes you just get burnt out, especially after being knocked down for so long.

Well you need to relaunch the game after editing configs in the config folder. That should have fixed it

i have found that for normal arrows wilden spikes are the best cus they make 32 arrows for one spike i believe you can find them in any cold biome and i get them in my mob farm sometimes
if not then the blue or red geode arrows are great if you have a fortune pick u can find red pretty commonly in the nether or blue in overworld i believe
or craft iron or diamond arrows which imo is best because they have x3 base damage though iron has low range
diamond arrows are seriously the best though if you have the resources they have 3.5x base damage and 1.25x range

Any idea why vex are constantly spawning when mining? tried it in a few different areas a couple hundred blocks apart.

we still don't have picks with enchant cause we still at the early game
np bows are the way to go especially early game i love my bow a lot
if u get into enchanting u can eventually get a bow that like 3 shots stage 3 dragons
also i recommend searching ruins like pyramids or ships for gear
there is bows with enchants ingrained in it like power bows and piercing crossbows

if u live near an ice maze i always go to the illager ships their difficulty is pretty low but captains room has great loot

Yep, entity culling. You can remove the entityculling mod from your mods folder, safely, without it messing up your world. Although, you may notice a minor change in FPS. Do this only if it bothers you that much.

You will find it among the Darkstone blocks. I took a real good look at the block in JEI and compared it to Darkstone, they were a match. Thank goodness for that too, because if it was blackstone, I was going to go to the nether...
Not that the nether poses any kind of existential threat to me, I just find it annoying, it is a bit chaotic.
i started up a new world today and after a little while, my game full crashed. Looking at the crash report, I think it has something to do with harpy nests but I'm not positive. I tried making a few other worlds and they all crashed the same way.

So does the dehydration mod not account for the races that start in the nether?
Nope, it doesn't, since they are two separate mods, that compatibility would have to be added by the mod authors of the thirst mods

Looks like Darker Depths caves don't actually generate with Terraforged world gen
Some of them do not generate properly in the versions of the modpack not using terraforged as well. Like the magma caverns, for one example. Supposed to be caverns, but ends up just being a slate vein, really.

You should have no problems finding grimestone though. It may require some searching, some branch mining, but even though the caves themselves are not there, the blocks should still be present.

Also, even if the blocks are not generated in the world, there is still a way to get them. The alchemists table, acquired from the loot bag you get after killing the Alchemist(blue skies content), will allow you to transform one block into another.(hang on, let me absolutely confirm this)

The alchemy table decides by way of compatibility patch, I am sure.
But like I said earlier, the grimestone should still be generating in your world.

I have come across a great many oddities in this modpack, on all versions I have played. I have come to just accept these oddities. I think it just comes with having ~300 mods.

Oooh, maybe...
A Raid Horn may be used to cancel a village raid that is in progress. When there is no raid in progress, blowing a raid horn will call a wandering pillager patrol group to spawn nearby.
There are also potions you can get from the Plague Sanctuary dungeons around the world that will automatically give you the Omen effect.
And the plague sanctuaries are HUGE so you can get MANY of them.

Edermen, when they take damage, have a chance to teleport up to 32 blocks away. And they will teleport to pretty much all blocks. They will even teleport to the top of an open fence gate, even into water(if it was a block under it). This dictates how an enderman farm is built.

we have a looting V sword if that helps with scavenger, we assumed it save time if we made a farm

You'll need 12 special eyes to activate the portal, and you use the same eyes to throw/find the portal. How to get them is in the pinned messages.

An alternative way of getting (most of) the eyes is the Twilight Forest quest line.
I think the Twilight Forest quests give every eye except the Corrupt Eye and the Witch Eye.
So you'd have to find some witches and a pillager outpost.

Yep. In your \config folder there is a file called "farlanders-common". You can adjust the rates there.
There are so many of them I just blank them out now, they have become background noise. However, I made an efficiency IX omnitool pickaxe to obliterate them in mere seconds, for when I need to get them out of my sight, for when I want to build around them. I just look at them with my pickaxe and they just disappear.
Same deal with the hobo camps.(satyrs and aras)

I personally set the probability to 0.2 (20%). It is important to note though that a probability of 100% does not result in a house in every chunk. Not every chunk is a "allowed chunk".

Does this occur on new worlds too? second report of this type that I've seen, just the other was cobblestone instead. Atm forge doesn't have a way to get rid of ticking entities on 1.18.1 like it did on 1.16.5

If your singleplayer lags as well it is because you didn't allocate enough RAM. If your singleplayer is fine then it's perhaps because the server is hosted far away.

How does the Reactive 1/2/3 enchantment work?
Who was it that was looking for tier 4-5 dragons? I found an easy way to find them. Just look at ocean biomes. If you see a perfect circle of terrain under the water on the map; you found a tier 4 or 5 dragon.

I'm trying to find Ventium ore in the everbright, but can't find any. ive checked several of the biomes, but no luck. its supposed to be an "iron equivalent" according to the book. does anyone have any advice?
all i've managed to find is pyrope (the gold equivalent) aquite, moonstone, and Lead (from eidolon, for some reason its the only overworld ore to show up here tho)
I haven't really mined much in the BlueSkies dimensions but I found Ventium in chests (definitely in the Towers, maybe also in villages).

IIRC, the Farlander sword is actually worse than a normal Diamond sword

There is a mob that removes enchantments, but only if you get attacked by it. Doesn't sound like that is the case.
Is everything else how you left it? Perhaps it didn't save properly.

Ya, that sounds like the cause. Anything that is not a proper disconnect can cause small roll-backs or partial saves.

If it's for 1.18.1, yes, you have to manually download the forge installer, now for the v50 1.16.5 server pack, it seems everything is already setup, just need to run the start.bat assuming the correct java 8 is the only one on your pc or you manually change the start.bat to make it run the java 8's install

How about quest dependencies? On the reward screen for the quest, there's an arrow on the left side, click it to see if there are quests that need to be completed first

You'll have to manually add the forest to the config's whitelist for that
Another strat is just finding an ocean and looking at the ocean floor, look for open caves or for nearly perfect circles

To better assist with fixing an issue, we will need some logs: Curseforge/GDLauncher-> Right click the modpack instance -> Open Folder. For MultiMC -> Click 'Instance Folder' on the right.
Find the file 'Latest' in the 'Logs' folder. If there is a folder called 'Crash Reports' then find the newest file from today. Upload these as requested.

Are they from the apotheosis bosses? You may need to configure their spawn rates in the deadly config inside the apotheosis folder, they are set to be pretty common I've noticed

Add mixin.ai.nearby_entity_tracking=false to the to the rules.properties file in the roadrunner folder inside the config folder, it should look like this after:

That line just disables a feature of roadrunner, I have no idea what the feature does however. As for the crash, I have no idea either and nor does the mod author :P

I installed Medieval Minecraft on CurseForge but when I enter the Joining World screen Java just crashes. I have assigned 8GB of Ram to Minecraft but it didn't work. Then I installed the CDLauncher but it doesn't download the mods. Is there anything I can do?

What are your current spec(s)? I'm new here too but I might be able to help.
I've run it on some pretty minimal machines. I bet you could get away with it... I'm assuming you have somewhat of a decent GPU.
I was able to run it in a few vms with 6 GB or ram and just 4 threads. You should have 4 cores (maybe 8 threads) so you should be good.
I guess in the end you'll have to just try it and check.
You'll know if theres issues if your client keeps crashing....
The fabric version seems a lot more light weight though....
