The compactor is very nice for mining aswell but i wouldnt leave it on all the time, just when u need ur redstone/coal/lapis made into blocks

You need a tame dragon for that.

The only way to get a tame dragon is by hatching a dragon egg. Which can only be obtained from female t4 and t5 dragons (those that live in caves underground, not in roosts above ground).

It does, but my guess is more related to how they die, if not by the sword, perhaps it won't convert but will still drop, assuming you had dealt dmg at some point

if you like ars though i suggest making rapiers as your main weapon. they take 25% of the damage you would have taken as durability damage and you can use your spellbook in your offhand. then you put either indestructible or mending on a rapier and its pretty crazy

spartans adds throwing weapons reinforced bows and crossbows, various tipped arrows and more

#

you can also use stuff like 2 handed weapons and spears to keep your distance even with melee

#

but also rapier/spellbook is still good because you can use your spells for ranges and the rapier absorbs some damage when stuff gets too close to you

#

Though if you've never done it before and want as much power as fast as possible I would say blood magic + ars is probably the way to go

They are very different in general. Ars is more of an actual magic, make you a wizard kinda mod while blood magic is more about making things that have magic effects. Ars imo is a lot more fun because of the custom spells BUT if you want to do both you can make blood spellbooks that will pull from your soul network instead of using a mana pool.

Essentially you can use blood magic to make a nearly limitless mana source for ars spells

There's not really classes in that sense. You can sorta aim for that via PlayerEX's stats, but overall not really a thing.

Yeh id like there to be skills but honestly its all down to more of a playstyle, if ur going tank id go with ton of health, focus on getting tanky armor, put reactive on armor so u can proc healthing spells or w/e let ur spells be more fire and forget so u can keep ur weapon and shield out, that kinda thing

if you add xaero's minimap to the modpack and turn on name tags, you can see the apotheosis mobs on the minimap and hunt them down for their stuff.

i think each one drops at least one mythic item. they can be pretty hard to kill in the beginning though

@median cypress they dont all drop mythic but they will all drop some type of apotheosis equipment

most of those enchants that say dodge also work if u jump for some reason, as most mods arnt made to work because of another mod. so its unlikely the enchants that say dodge/roll do anythin with moded stuff

So, for some strange reason, the pack won't load a world. I've been sitting here for 10 minutes with the pack taking up all my CPU and about 8 GB of RAM, and the game's just the menu background. I've never had a pack take this long to load into a world. Not even Ragnamod or Dungeons, Dragons, and Space Shuttles, so I'm wondering if there's something wrong with my install.

Hm been playing the pack for a while and I have yet to come across an underground region that is now overgrown with vines and full of ice / snow blocks, which makes them MASSIVELY annoying to traverse (torches constantly melting blocks and creating waterstreams/accidentally climbing up vines).
Is that just a feature of the region I am living in or are ALL caves like that?

Heck even this giant underground lava lake cave (that was a surprise to stumble upon) has the same ice/snow/vines type of caves around it

It's somewhat related to the above-ground biome, but sometime it's not as clear. I know that near oceans you have a lot of dead coral in caves, and near cold areas you have ice underground.
