if you put in a stack of warp dust and flint in a warp plate
it will consume all the stacks and only produce 1 attuned stone
because it hates me

I believe they are supposed to be invis, but they have armor, just that armor is made invis by another mod
random skeleton walks in the door shooting at me and cant see the hitbox to strike them
And they only spawn in at a dungeon, no where else
well there spawning randomly on the surface
if you're having trouble with these skeletons, you're gonna have a bad time
its just that im litterally 3 minutes into a world until theirs random invisible skeletons showing up
this pack is not really easy
possible - from the top platform go 3 or 4 blocks up and use slabs to make a roof so mutants can't spawn, then punch holes in them so the regulars can still see your mite

hey the dimensional carver isnt working, idk why but holding right click does show breaking particles but it ends without summoning a portal, this only happened once i upgraded from v38 to v41 i think
you need a belt that has +1 talasman

Playing on 1.16.5; I have a waystone in my shulker inventory, everytime i use another waystone to teleport to a third one, I'm left with blindness and invisibility both at 0 seconds, but they won't go away and stay active, so nobody has an idea? i found a nether portal in the nether and activated it and it took me here, and this place is wild and sooo huge. i've gotten so many enchanted books, netherite scraps, diamond stuff, netherite drops from the miner piglins

Remove the scarab talisman and try again.
I do have one on me, so this is a bug with the talisman? I'll try this evening thanks!
It shouldn't happen and I've never heard of this before, but "blindness + invisibility" is only granted by that item, so it's worth a try.
What happens if I update the pack and don't start a new world?

Your Nether will be a nice mess. I recommend to move all your stuff out of the Nether before updating and to delete the DIM-1 folder.
And your End will probably have no return portal unless you reset that dimension.
we haven't done anything in those dimensions anyway

Ohh, I see. Then you're good to go. The update only messes the End up if you killed the Dragon, and the Nether will be messed up only in the areas you've explored.
(If you haven't been to the Nether yet then don't worry about that either).
It's not in the modpack. If you want to add a server-side mod with it, there is FTB Essentials.

for anyone having issues with mutant wither skeletons in farms, well, the landing platform has to be 3x3 and 5 blocks high of space, so it doesnt clip through the walls and escape

In modpacks it is always safer to choose "Default" btw, because most mods adding biomes/structures orientate their code on vanilla minecraft. The bigger the modpack the higher the risk of mis-generations in non-default settings.

hey, so my wife and I just started a local server and I think we're supposed to spawn with skillpoints but we did not, anyone know what to do?
You're supposed to spawn with 20 points in Constitution and 0 in everything else.
oh then how do I get levels in things so that I can stop dying from hunger and thirst?
If you'd like to not die from hunger and thirst I do recommend to eat and drink.
To get skill points you need to collect XP. 50% of your XP is put into the levelling system.

They randomly generate anywhere from 0y to 50y, but some have said the most common for them was around 11y I believe

It's quite rare, it has a max of 2 ore veins per chunk with a max of 3 ore per vein.

You could always use a Create miner at Y11 for maximum efficiency at finding them

Dungeons give quite a bit, I ended up with 6k iron ingots through just exploring, I rarely really mined and smelted it.

They randomly generate so exploring is the best way to find them
The death markers or the corpses themselves? I think the corpses despawn over time, forget how long, the markes are from Journeymap and FTB's map feature

The thirst meter is from Survive, and for the seasons, there shouldn't be any unless you are playing on a decently old version. Serene seasons was removed

i also noticed that pressure plates dont work on fence gates in winter, because of the snow for some reason

yea the other day i tried to make some instant health 2 but it came out some ogre strength, then just now i made the health just fine but went to make some night vision , it worked fine, went to make them the 8minute one and i got ogre strength 2

I've had that problem with other modpacks, and unfortunately there isn't a way to pick what potion gets created if there are overlapping recipes. It's a weird thing but we never figured out the cause nor solution
oh i know what i happened i tried to make potions of leaping first and when i went to get the jump boost 2 version it turned into ogre strength
i mean the ogre strength arnt what i wanted but its a accidental strength potion i guess
so i made the Tide Trident from ice and fire, threw it at a mob and it became a regular trident when it hit the ground, am i supposed to do something with it so it remains a Tide Trident, or is this thing just a one time use?
It's a bug with the Ice and Fire mod itself, need the mod author to fix it.

Just tried crafting an extended length mana potion and it turned to ogre's might so there's some buggy nonsense going on
it works but not as fast as id hope
i know what i did, i tried to make jump boost 3 minute, jump boost 8 minute, into jump boost 2
ur suppose to go from 3 minute to jump boost 2

i did not, i made a mana potion and then inserted redstone to make them longer lol

It does appear that attempting to extend the duration of some mod added potions results in them turning into Potions of Ogre's Might from Goblins and Dungeons. Tested Mirror potions from Greek Fantasy, and Mana Regen and Spell Damage from Ars so far. Vanilla Potions of Strength are also affected.

be sure to force load the chunks where you have the storage so you can access it everywhere

actually the network builder remote just checks if the blocks in your network and lets you build with it

2 questions, sorry if these are obvious. How do I reset my journey map for the overworld in the new update (v42)? And for the new Christmas spirit mod, will it automatically start snowing in the overworld or is that disabled?
If you're starting a new world, journey map will just start fresh with a new map as long as the world has a different name. If you want to reset it anyway, it's all in the instance folder within journeymap/data/
ok so you can make mana regeneration potions but both of the other kind turns into ogre potions not the better versions
Can you make extended duration mana potions? I was able to make the base ones fine but extending is where the ogre potion turns up. Already opened a ticket so the devs would be aware.

yes something is wrong with some of the recipes i would assume its conflicting item IDs or something more then messed up recipes

i had put autosmelt on it, noticed it wasn't picking up, so i took autosmelt off and it still wasn't working right. i even put acquisition on a second time to be sure
btw with apotheosis someone explained to me you need those fancy books to take the things but how exactly do you do it?

Noticed the transfer button isn't changing to yellow with shift in chests after upgrading, so I can't transfer over just the matching items. What mod is it, if the button is in there?
Welp, removed goblins and dungeons and now those potions from ars are turning into Potions of Mirroring instead of Ogre's Might. Potion of Strength is no longer affected though

Oh interesting, it's only not working on backpacks. Barrels work fine.
Leap and Instant Health are upgrading fine without Goblins&Dungeons as well, the only ones I've found that are still afflicted are the ones from Ars so it might be an issue on that mod's end. I don't really want to test making every single potion lol
yea its no big deal most of them work fine, and i just wanted the potion of mana regen for magic mining anyway
so real quick dark crystal from undead expansion where do u usually find those? ive done a TON of strip mining and havent found one
I can live with eating source berry food for my mana regen fine, but it's a more serious problem when vanilla potions are being affected
I've seen dark crystal pretty low in the world, around layer 12 or so
yea so far tho i havent had an issue with vanilla potions, i dindt try making strength 2 but the extended ones worked just fine

the author of Moth removed his origin mods from curseforge, apparently they're still available on the origins discord in datapack form

Origins is still in the modpack but the additional options added by a submod are gone because that author deleted their mod from curseforge. They said you can find those origins in datapack form on the Origins discord.

Tried making a new backpack and reloading the game, backpacks still can't switch to matching items for the transfer button. Any thoughts? Do they have to use a filter now?

There's the up and down arrows over your inventory that let you transfer things to and from the backpack, holding down shift in v41 turns the arrow yellow and lets you transfer just matching items. Still works in v42 with barrels and chests, but not backpacks

this might be a more mod specific question but what are the thoughts for making the orb from the Origin mod craftable? Just thought it might be cool to be able to change your race later on. I think it would be neat if it required fairly high end drops from the pack but that way you could still change over to a different race if you wanted, you know for fun

my big issue was I picked random 3 times in a row and had no way to tell what race I was, I spent a little while seeing if I floated, hated water, burned in the sun, stuff like that

Did you allocate 8GB of those to the game?

The two profile keeps confusing me so when I opened v42, it moved its position in my modpack
When you open the CurseForge launcher you can click the Settings button at the bottom left, choose Minecraft on the left side, scroll down a bit and set the Memory Settings to 8192MB. It will change it for all your profiles then.
I have to say, dia and netherite armor looks pretty good with the new textures.

They even fixed the textures of the Totem of Undying, which looked horrible in the last version.
What I am not so sure about are the textures from Stoneborn. Look how blurry they are compared to a "normal" item like the silver helmet.
the blur is likely to 'smooth out' the texture

First lets make sure you have the ram for it, can you tell me what your task manager says for the memory? Mine says 31.9gb because I have 32gb total

Right click on the medieval mc profile, click manage, scroll down until you see the option in the screenshot, click the slider so it's on the right for 'override java memory', set the second slider to 8192mb. After that, go ahead and play!

Well, to make a backup you just need to copy the saves folder and put it in a safe location, for updating, same as setting the ram but instead of clicking on the overview section, you click on the modpack section, it'll bring up a screen like this when you click the top box, select the version you want and click switch version

Level 1 is a 10% chance and it adds 5% for every level afterwards.

If you need 10 hits for an enemy you're likely to crit once.

Yes. If you looted some apotheosis-towers you'll have those weapon-tomes. Those give a decent chance of getting KOTA.
ive only found one of those towers but it had alot of good loot in it
so i have a few of the disenchantment books for apotheosis but im unsure how to take the prefix/suffixes off of some of the items ive found

The shards are made by "cooking" an affix-item on a soul campfire.

The weapon tomes are used on an enchanting table. They guarantee that you receive weapon-enchantments from it.
Hence the good chance of getting KOTA there.

yeaaaaa theres a mod that makes enchanting more like tetris ish, u have like a 7x7 grid that is ur weapon and each enchantment is a certain shape, u use exp/lapris one to reroll currently avaliable enchants and u place what u want in the grid, and to get like a level 2 sharpness u place two sharpness shapes onto eachother. if i rememeber the whole process correctly its been alittle since i used that last mod pack. it was like a 1.12 pack

You can only do that by enchanting a "trash" item, like a wooden shovel.
Every act of enchanting will re-roll the enchants for every other item in the game.

Oh, the level just depends on the kind of bookshelves you use.
Standard bookshelves will give you a lvl 30 enchanting table, as you know it from vanilla.

For the really high levels you'll need to use pearlescent end shelves and draconic end shelves.

Not directly. But enchanting an item on the enchanting table re-rolls the affixes as well.
That way you can choose the ones you want.
so if i throw a random enchant on a random thing, i might b able to pull off prefix 1 instead of prefix 2, correct?

For this specific one though I'd blame Magnesium.
You cannot get it from villagers afaik, but you can mine Stellarite Ore and craft the enchantment.

No, this is just talking about the server-sided part. You cannot run Optifine on the server. But you can run Magnesium on your client even when removing it from your server.

You need a belt to equip a talisman.

Nope. Placing down purified water makes it dirty. You need to craft the purified water with the canteen to fill it.

No, the apotheosis module that allowed that was turned off a few version ago. You could turn it back on yourself if you're playing solo.

Should be able to turn it on in the config files on your server.
\config\apotheosis\apotheosis.cfg and change Enable Spawner Module to true
Spawner-module requires both server and client to change their config.
Should always have your clients match the server configs to avoid any buggy strangeness

Hades is a common one since he likes it when you kill wither skeletons and it's pretty easy to find them in huge numbers
does turning mob griefing off also keep dragons from messing up everything
I think so, though you can also turn off dragon griefing in the ice and fire config
I do believe it's not advised since they can easily get stuck on trees, and I suppose it would prevent t4/5s from breaking out of their caves making them much harder to find

Java 8, no suggested arguments beyond adding 8gb of memory for it to use.
The collections mod that added a few extra origins was deleted by its author. According to their statement, you can find several of them in datapack form in the Origins discord server
