The first you can do is to delete your config folder in your client. Maybe it's a config-setting that doesn't match.
Alternatively (and this should definitely work) you have to move all mods out of your mods-folder client side, download the mods directly from your server's files and put them into your client. This way you're sure they are all the same version.

Press F3 and watch your memory-usage. You will notice that it fills up, drops down, fills up, drops down. That's how java works. It will accumulate trash until it reaches a high % and then free the RAM it doesn't actually need. The more you allocate the higher it will go without freeing memory. There is literally no benefit in giving it more RAM than it needs, you only risk that the higher amount of trash causes issues.

Yeah, it also uses some of it for other things. Your F3 will show like 7250 MB allocated even when you set it to 8192.

Allocating more doesn't necessarily cause issues, it just increases the chance for it. Your PC will have to deal with more RAM being used after all.

I guess it also depends on what it fills the RAM with, lol.

Yes, it's an underground maze, consisting of 2 levels. On the 1st layer you look for a way downwards (a hole basically), on the 2nd layer you will find the minoshroom.

Yes, you will just need to find a very rare ore called Stellarite. It generates mostly between Y=11 and Y=30 but is still rarer than diamond.

it's honestly running about as well as it can with magnesium and other mods bundled into it. Could try lowering your render distance, disabling particles, or swapping magnesium for optifine. Bear in mind that using optifine will add more time to the initial load, but it might run better on your hardware.
