Still getting that crash with defaults and the Blood Magic living armor. Putting on boots immediately hard crashes any clients that do it and doesn't provide an error log. Both the game instance and multiMC/curse/other just lock up and need to be terminated.
Server doesn't get hit.
Modpack version v35.5.

It's usually not recommended to fly around in unexplored chunks, as your PC will have to render a whole lot of blocks. You can either explore "slowly" (aka not full-speed creative fly) or pre-generate your world.

i actually have another question, I'm finding quite a bit of broken up structures. like half generated. is this because of the caves and cliffs world type? should i just use normal world type?

You'll still have the features of the Cave and Cliffs backport, but the worldgen will be smoother I suppose.

you can't get melons and pumpkins from a crop, you need to wait for a full melon/ pumpkin to grow beside the crop
so i just updated from v24 to v35.5 and now my MC keeps crashing before even loading

I've put 10gb and haven't had an issue, I've only played on v34 though
Typically, allocating a little more than needed isn't an issue, as long as there is enough ram for the computer to use for itself and other programs
Also for reference I have 32gb total so 10gb doesn't really strain my system, I've got plenty left over
I play on 6GB on my laptop. Server is 8GB. Occasional freeze, but usually recovers. Otherwise completely smooth

You will have to remove Magnesium from your mods folder in order to use Optifine.
Will I need to remove that from my server as well or is it a client side mod ๐
Unfortunately I am not sure about that one. I know it's doing something on server-side, but whether you can connect with an Optifine-client still... I don't know. If you can, remove it from both.
The quests are more of a guide through different dimensions. As long as you are in the Overworld you don't necessarily have to focus on any quests. But if you want to go to the End for example you will have to do the Twilight Forest quests, and if you want to go to the Atum dimension you'll have to do some Nether quests.

You get it from the Awful Ghast quest.

Click the arrow on the left of the quests, you can choose different chapters there.
Awful Ghast dungeon is a natural spawn in soulsand valleys.
I got quite unlucky on it then, the other boss though, that one seems to be the weird one since my nether had zero nether wastes or the one forest biome that it said it spawns in

I believe so, weird part is my nether had zero of them. Since the locatebiome command is limited to 10k blocks radius or something along that distance, I kept jumping out 10k blocks in alternating directions each time, locatebiome never came up with either
Soul sand valleys were common, but none of the other 3 biomes it specified as a possible spawn for both dungeons
ok so the deeper dark says kill shulk zombies and the warden but you are stuck in a cave surrounded by minable stuff and bedrock at all sides

That is weird. I got a whole bunch of Crimson Forests (in fact my portal generated in one of them as well).
Keep digging down from the initial spawn, you get into a cave where they spawn

It was weird, I'm doing another run through on v34 again, new world, new install and what not, hopefully this time they generate but otherwise I get the feeling something is wrong on that version for the default nether biomes except for the soul sand valley
I've talked to someone who couldn't find Crimson forests even with /locate, and they played on v31. I don't know what could cause the issue though.

I don't believe the biome origin got renamed so the normal minecraft:crimson_forest or whatever the variation is for it should work

It is normal that using Optifine will increase your loading time (I need about 8 minutes to finish loading the pack with Optifine). A crash is not normal though. Which shaders are you using?

I had mine crash when trying to put on some shaders, I forget but it might be good to apply more ram if wanting to run shaders, I know it's recommended for the larger detail texture packs

I have 16gb total so I can add more, if you think I should
I had 10gb when I tried mine, failed to even leave the shader screen
I don't tend to run shaders tho on the larger modpacks just due to issues like that tho so not too certain on that ram part

Welp, got a crimson forest 200 blocks away from my spawn as a blaze origin, I really wonder what caused my first world to not have any in it
All 4 of the default nether biomes generated wonderfully, nothings changed tho from my previous profile even tho its a fresh install, since I doubt world edit would somehow mess up world gen of the nether

Not that it matters, I play with cheats enabled on big modpacks in case stuff like that happens, I just cheat in what I need and do it that way

Some people here use BSL shaders. Maybe you wanna try out those to see whether it's just the Sildur's ones.

I find it rather hard to imagine that such major behaviour would depend on biome or season. The game shouldn't treat "snow on stairs" differently, imo.
Also the warden is like other mobs, its a random spawn, it took me a bit to get enough zombies before I progressed the quest to the warden part, but they should spawn, as long as you are in the dimension you get tp'd to after breaking the dimension stack
As for that other issue with the stair and snow bug, it's most likely related to the Snow! Real Magic! mod in which it blends the snow texture onto the stair block

The most likely cause I can think of would be a texture or resource pack. But afaik all of us play on default.

Wow, this world spawn, made a new one just to test the stair snow thing and got an iron golem spawned in a baobob tree, a fire dragon right next to the village spawn, and then one of those big thornborn tower dungeons just across a river

Right, I got the bug, fresh install of v35.5, stair texture disappears upon conversion to the Snow! Real Magic! snow covered stairs, so far spruce has it, im testing the rest of the default mc woods

I think the structure might be an intended spawn, I'll have to look at the BYG config to see if they made it so for that biome, only saying it might be intended as it's a modded biome

I would try to fix it by replacing the mod with the previous version (the one used on v34).

Yes, snow will fall right through stairs covered with it.
Not sure about the end city one, might be a single glitch.
To fix the snow, simply use the Snow! Real Magic! version from v34, version 2.6.1
Instead of the 2.7.2 version from v35.5.
Yeah, not fun :/ I'm afraid you'll have to deal with broken snow until v36, or tell every user to replace their mod, too.
It's only stairs and only when it snows, as far as I know.
Ah that's worth a try.
Otherwise you could set weather to clear and disable gamerule doWeatherCycle in v35.5, but that's not the best fix for a server with people wanting to play with weather.

Capital letters matter in gamerules, but you certainly know that, lol. It wouldn't work unless it's exactly "/gamerule doWeatherCycle false"

Shouldn't be, really. I set weather cycle to false in single player 3 weeks ago, and it hasn't rained since then.
(Unless I switched to rain on purpose).
Same, with the seasons mod, it especially likes to rain around a certain season though I forget which, so it's the best time to test if the gamerule works which it did for me on v34
I turned doSeasonCycle to false and set season to MID_SUMMER because I don't like my fish-pond being covered with ice all the time. Also had no trouble with it switching back or anything.

Yes, warp plates.
A little more complicated as you cannot put a mob into your inventory, but you can set up a warp plate at your base, place the other one next to the mob you want to bring home and drag/push it onto the plate.
Updated to 35.5 and when i add optifine it gives me exit code 0?
Make sure you removed Magnesium from your mods folder.

I got 5-6GB memory usage when I'm at my colony.
all of my 9gb ram gets maxed out when i'm in the town

and i am monitoring ram and noticed that java sometimes uses all of my 16gb ram
ok noticed that it doesn't always max out allocated ram, maybe that's just happening because i'm upgrading a builder huts
Hmm. I keep an eye on it. I haven't felt more lag than usual when building huts, but maybe it is the cause still.

it was definitely the builder building that was causing high ram usage, she just finished and ram is not going above 7500mb

Well, don't waste your time searching for locations. You'll need to complete the Twilight Quests for the Ender Crystal Eye anyway. All you need to do is
- Twlight Forest Quests
- Corrupted Eye from pillager outpost

Twilight Forest is the only dimension I knew already before playing this pack. Though I played it in 1.12.2 only before, quite a few things got added.
i found the deep dark boring, well the old deep dark idk how this new one is
Still a great place though. Just got darker than it used to be, which makes it less appealing for building a base there.

to bad The Betweenlands dimension mod isn't in this modpack, i loved that dimension and it was also a bit scary
I've heard a lot of positive things about Alfheim, though I've never seen it.
It's supposed to work well together with the Feywild mod.
5-6 is running fine for me
although there are memory leaks peaking my usage to 8
so whatever u put in it'll max out after a while but 5 gigs is stable
It also depends on things like player-count.
Being attacked by a skilled nemean lion with guarding is so fucking annoying

It was horrible. If my sword wasn't just outright ridiculous I would've died many times more

put optifine into mods folder, run the game it will create shaderpacks folder, download a shader from internet, and put zip file into shaderpacks folder
also delete magnesium mod if you haven't done that
i have not didnt know magnesium was in there
i put optufine in there and ran game i still had to manually create shaderpack
i deleted magnesium then pu toptifine in mods folder
i run minecraft medieval forge
but it doesnt craete the shaders folder

What are the beste itens to enchant with indestructible?
Either the ones you use the most (like pick, sword), or the ones which you added the most enchants to (so that you don't break and lose them, or alternatively don't need to spend so much XP on disenchanting).
Just keep in mind that you cannot put Indestructible on any item that you enchanted with Unbreaking before.

Shouldn't be, I never actually found one due to a world gen bug in my first world that I couldn't reproduce, but essentially I had only the soul sand biome generating so I just cheated it in

The pharaoh from Atum? That is in the Atum dimension in the pyramids, requires 2 special torches made using Atum's modded ore, forget the exact name

is there a specific world seed for this? i set up a gportal server and left the world seed blank
so it would generate its own thing, but i mean i creative moded all over this desert and dont see a single pyramid

In the dimension that the Atum mod added? They should be spawning, I had a few spawn in a relatively small distance, they might be decently under the sand so you gotta really keep an eye out

They spawn on the surface, sometimes though, the sand layer covers up a majority of the sides so it can be hard to notice

No, you don't, the world seed can be random, it doesn't matter unless you wanted to copy someone's world

Hey was wondering, it seems that waypoints created on death cannot be visually deleted or hidden. It's deleted on the map but I still can see it in the world. How can I resolve this?
Those are most likely from the ftb map, I believe you bring that up by pressing M, and you can disable it in the settings, there should be a cog on one of the corners, been a little since I had to disable those so I might remember wrong
If you are referring to the white waypoints
I've disabled "Show waypoints on world" but it still persists
then it means it is under a different setting
just try messinbg with teh settings
Other waypoints are hidden with the "Show waypoints on world" setting disabled, just the death ones are not

found a bug, vanilla shears are replaced with apotheosis shears, and they arent able to harvest vanilla leaves, grass or ferns.

Forge has more mods, more features but is more resource demanding, fabric has less features due to less mods, but is less resource demanding.

Is the dimension stack directly at bedrock? I cleared a large area on bedrock level, found 3 stella pieces already but still didn't see the dimension stack.
Hey anyone knows anything about entering nether and crashing ur game? I removed magnesium because i added optifine so I could run shaders, modpack was working flawlessly until I had to enter nether. No clue I could not enter nether. Other than once on a creative world after hours of trying to get it to work on my main one... I got it to work once and after that I left that world and since I cannot re-enter because my game crashes immediately.
I tried removing optifine and still could not enter nether... No idea whats going on D:

I had trouble entering the nether. You can remove the mod to enter and generate the nether. They you can reenable it but you need to remove the burrow feature in the config file

Removing the mod would remove all things related to it. But if you can disable burrows in the nether in their config you don't need to remove the mod.

From the config:

burrows = false
So i would say that disable the burrow put the mob back into the spawn pool. But in my case, I am unable to tell if it the crash came from placing a burrow into the nether, or it was when the burrow spawned a monster

Little "pockets" in the ground which spawn the mobs from Untamed Wilds.
It's meant to be like that so that these animals don't count towards the spawn-count.
Why are they in the modpack if they cause crashes over essential things tho. I would think it would be taken out since it crashes as u want to traverse nether

There have been only 3-4 people so far who crashed because of it. It works fine for the vast majority of people.

I am unable to answer that question with a certainty of more than 2%, lol. I've been a lot to the nether and I cannot recall having seen any burrows there, so I wonder why the mod is even trying for you to generate them there.

You know, it produces snakes, newts, turtles and that kind of stuff. They don't really belong to the nether.
I'd say: see whether disabling burrows fixes your crash. If yes, that's great. Then you can still consider to enable them again (cuz even if you crash again you know the fix).

Keep in mind that you'll have to complete the Twilight Quests to obtain the End Crystal Eye, so if you don't want to waste your time you only need to do the Twilight Quest + Corrupted Eye from pillager outposts.

Minecolonies is fun. You make an entire town with the mod. Claims everything with really easy permissions to give to friends and what not. Itโs A blast. Itโs like the sims but for Minecraft. FTB claims instantly and by chunk size. Press m left click a chunk to claim right to unclaimed

You have to craft a option for every build. IE builder hut, warehouse so on and so forth. Itโs not that difficult but I 10000% recommend YouTube and the wiki for minecolonies @void yew

Stella ore is in overworld but is really rare
Cannot i tried diamonds, emeralds and iron ingots by default

@ember condor To repair Dungeons Gear you can also combine 2 of the same piece on an anvil (in case you find another wither armor), or enchant it with Mending. You can find Mending quite often on tools/weapons in dungeons.

I got 20 beacons laying around and don't use any because there are better enchants here XD
But vein-mining is not that hard to get from a lvl 30 enchanting table, and it helps a lot with finding stella ore.

'Cause if you want mending the best way is to be Moth and go flying.
Fireworks are easy to make and give you insane mobility options. Go to a desert biome and find one of those massive temple looking buildings, fly up to the top, and grab some books. :p
As for human?
Not many good options.
Maybe try grabbing a bow and hunting down some Wyrmroost dragons.
Fly up like normal. Or you could attempt Ice and Fire, that can be done pre nether.

nvm i read the rest of chat and saw ur looking for stella, altho the pieces ive found have been in caves
it pulses with a glow and usualy quite low down
so i tried v36, i changed snow real magic mod to 2.6.1 and all of the blocks covered in snow have wrong texture
those are suppose to be andesite stairs and slabs

v2.6.1 was supposed to fix them becoming invisible and the snow falling right through them.
I mean, it fixed that. Why it's completely different textures now though... what the fish, lol.
But wait. If you're on v36 then the snow-mod was fixed by Sharkie already, no need to replace it with v2.6.1. The other guy only needed to replace the file because he wanted his server to stay on v35.5.

Were those blocks there already when you changed mod version?
previous blocks that were placed on 2.7.2 during my tests were acacia textures until I replaced them after I changed to 2.6.1

yes they were already there and covered in snow when i changed version i am currently waiting in my v33 game for the snow to melt ๐
It's because they basically redid their rendering code for their blocks so it messed with magnesium which got included in the update that happened to include the 2.7 series of updates, so it broke
It should fix itself upon melting or you replacing them
I only know about the replacing part tho, I didn't wait for it to melt

I'm not sure what you want a screenshot of. The client I have installed is on CurseForge. It says Medieval Minecraft [FORGE] v36.zip. It was released within the day.
Additionally, the server files are from the same time. There is a server download button next to the client download on the CurseForge app. The server files are v36.
I've tried both the server files from CurseForge app and I've gotten them from the CurseForge website.

Yes. I personally installed the server pack on a Nodecraft server, no one click installer or anything, just to be sure it was correct. When I try to connect I get a client mismatch. If anyone on this Discord has gotten the latest versions to work, please let me know your secret.

I have my own server thatโs version 36 and it runs fine
I dragged the files onto the server after setting up the Forge server.

You are a brave soul upgrading modpacks. I tend to run "seasons" where I run a version for a couple months if it's stable and then start fresh with newer versions.

The friend group is typically ok with it so long as nothing goes absolutely haywire.

The Atum scarab is from the nether quests, believe it's about killing the wither, but first you need to kill the ghast boss for that, Abyss not too sure on as I haven't explored there yet
