Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.
The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.
For further performance improvements, you can also follow this guide.
Reducing server render distance in the server.properties file is also a very good way of reducing lag. Most of our modpacks include mods like Bobby and Farsight, which make it so reducing server render distance will not affect players.
If lag persists, run the following command ingame:
/spark profiler start --only-ticks-over 50

The issue isn’t neurina, as it’s there to detect issues and prevent a hard crash when possible caused by ticking entities.
For time being you may need to wait for someone who has more experience in fixing the ticking entities issues

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.
To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "Install". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATL and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.

It's supposed to be like that, because otherwise you'd get mythic and above drops in the Overworld. Mobs in other dimensions are higher levels.

If you want to make mobs stronger, I'd recommend to not edit their level but instead increase the attribute-bonuses they get per level. In the autoleveling config.

Vivaldi was a very easy switch. For any island's you just save them as speed dials, and it saves in the bookmarks tab.

Nuruina keeps giving me ticking exceptions, and essentially banning me from my own server. As far as I know, it happens every time I die now, and I'm not sure what keeps causing this. I don't want to delete my playerdata for obvious reasons, but the last backup was 3 hours and 50 minutes ago {when a backup is made every 4 hours :/ }, and other players would also lose a fair degree of progress

It only caused issues after I died with it on

It shouldn't do that, but there is a slight chance that the server is for some reason skipping the .dat file and instead using the .dat_old file. What you could do is delete both the

Just a bit, no offence. Large modpacks like this are prone to breaking when adding or removing random things. So this is the recommended way to do it:
Launch the default modpack to make sure the installation is without errors.
Then add 2-3 mods at a time and launch again to see whether there are any incompatibilities.
Based on your log it's because of the mod "Otherworld". So what you could do is remove that one and its dependencies that you added. Try if the modpack launches without it. And then we can work from there.

i keep having this issue where I join in and my skin doesn't load, i havent adjusted the pack besides increasing the ram, and ive tried repairing as well as changing my skin :,) anyone know how to fix this
uuuh... i have a bit of a weird issue and idk how to explain it. it's like... well it's getting more common where like, a zombie is coming at me and i try to slash it with my sword, it does nothing. no hit like it's immune. and bows will pull back but no arrow is shot. my friend says he doesn't see me holding the things and any time i try dropping or placing blocks nothing happens. same issue.
i'm playing on the latest (version 27) for MMC5 and the only changes i've made was i updated the witchery mod to the latest version for the server and client-side and i added the lootr mod.
That's probably a desync. You're lagging out most likely.

i think i figured it out. something about the relics mod might be causing the issue. cause i was wearing a Wool Mitten, Ice Skates, Amphibian Boot and a Hunter Belt. it seems that one of the boots was not shown as being worn and i wonder if that mgiht have something to do with why my inventory was bugged

Currently LPS packs are not being updated on the Modrinth site, and as such are outdated. This is while the devs figure out a way to automate uploads of the pack properly.
Until the packs can be properly updated, we recommend using ATL (use !alternates in #bots for further info on the installation process ) or Prism launcher. You can download the CurseForge version of our packs on these launchers while still being able to make instances from Modrinth versions of other packs not owned by us.
Please note this does not apply to individual mod projects of developers at LPS.

How does the enchanting apotheosis setup work? I looked at diff vids, but the hellshelves are barely better than regular bookshelves. Is this normal?
Don't ask devs for ETA's, it's rude.
For the majority of devs this is a hobby, asking when a project they're working on will release adds unnecessary pressure. The only thing that increased pressure does is contribute towards demotivation and burnout, causing the project to take longer.
mine kept saying that (i was using curseforge though) since i edited the pack (added mods then removed them) so i ended up just uninstalling and reinstalling and it fixed itself 😭😭 im not sure if thats helpful for you or not but hopefully you can figure it out!!

Your client's modpack directory contains a folder called \defaultconfigs, you can find all the standard settings there. Though I'm pretty sure that your screenshot shows the default values, so I'm not sure if I understood the question correctly.

At first glance I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work with MMC4. You can download the latest mod version and simply add it to your \mods folder.

What we see from our side: Player got item Rod of Discord, when they used it to use "Chaotic Teleport" spell imbued with it, immediate crash
Now each time player tries to join the above crash happens
That log is serverside, if you need something else I'm happy to get whatever is needed

v28 of MMC5 came out after the bug was reported. I don't play it myself so I can't tell if that issue was resolved in the latest version. You can either update and see if that fixes it or avoid the Rod of Discord for the time being.
Though I'm not quite sure how to get the server back running in its current state.

As for allowing him to join again... I'm not quite sure. The crash is apparently caused by "teleport_particles". We could delete the Rod of Discord from his inventory and hope that the particles disappear with it together.

All three of those mods have an ingame guide book. Check the last quest in the Tutorial section, it should give you a whole bunch of guide books. If those don't include the ones from Iron's, Ars and Wizard's Reborn, they are probably craftable (should be in JEI then).

its honestly very stupid, once im done with mmc 4 i dont think ill ever want to experience apo ever again in any pack
its kind of like fargo souls in terraria, fun for 1 playthrough to mess around with insane numbers are whatnot but gets very boring very quickly

before mmc 4 ive only playind it once one a homebrew modpack i made myself with a few dozen mods, but i made the mistake of not adding leveling mods, the world didnt last

Honestly the thing that gets me the most with Apotheosis is just how badly it breaks progression to implement it's mechanics

Kind of disappointing when I go through the effort of getting a unique piece of gear only to immediately find a casual Diamond copycat with stats that decimate what I just spend valuable time going after
And that is literally half the whole premise of Apotheosis
Find a good piece of gear, grind materials at a mob farm to upgrade it, use it to find another better piece of gear, rinse and repeat until the numbers are so high that it doesn't even matter anymore
i have made a rule for myself that i will limit the use if mob spawners, if i want to grind for levels/materials ill go fight the mobs organically
i think its a lot more fun

Honestly probably why I enjoy mods like Create; I can just set up easy contraptions and spend more time doing what I want to do instead
for example: when i started reading the bloodcraft guidebook i learned id need a constant supply of mobs blood to fill the alter, so i build the alter below my barn, but after seeing how slow the procces of breeding then sacrificing is i just placed a maxed out zombie spawner. I might as well just be in creative just cheating the items, so i broke it and made a hole nearby where i placed a teleporter exit, the entrance i took with me and when i find a village when exploring i just place it down and kidnap the villagers, pretty awesome
tldr: when you have apotheosis you are no longer playing survival mc but something between survival and creative
I really liked 1.16.5 because it respected vanilla's limits to an extent, while still adding little buffs that felt more like small upgrades and not decimations (to an extent)
And rare was actually rare!
Plus it didn't litter the world with affixes items and gems
They felt like actual rewards and not the normal
(ofc gems didn't exist in 1.16.5)

Go to \mods and remove the Foolproof .jar file and replace it with the latest version from the CurseForge website (link: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/foolproof/files/7024289)

There's some big fish in there. Nothing overpowered though. And there are also some creatures you can trade with as long as you don't attack them.

Hi, I am very new and inexperienced with mods, I am trying to merge 2 modpacks, 1 being Medievalmc and the other a smaller custom modpack, both had a lot of overlap and its crashing on bootup, i was told by the crash assistant to copy paste into this chat, i was wondering if anyone could help me with figuring out what is causing the crash/conflict, thank you for reading :)
you cant merge 2 modpacks together as they can conflict as seen with your crashing
you can add mods one by one but merging 2 packs together not a good idea
you should also not be updating individual mods in the pack as that can cause issues as well
thank you for responding, i could have worded my initial text better, i added mods manually looking at file folder (of custom pack) on one screen and curseforge on another, i did not intentionally update any mods

but to un-update mods a reinstall would be needed, you can back up saves and map folders

Modpacks use specific versions of certain mods to prevent various issues, such as crashes or major game-breaking bugs. Mods will be updated by the modpack developer when they see fit. Please do not update the mods in a modpack manually, unless specifically told to do so. This includes hitting the "update all" feature on CurseForge launcher it likes to bother users with.
To be clear; this is separate from updating the modpack (such as Better MC / Medieval MC) itself. You should always stay up to date with the latest version of the modpack. To update the pack correctly, you can follow the command!updatemodpack
The easiest way to downgrade mod versions to their original versions in the pack, is to reinstall the pack itself. Before you uninstall, back up both any singleplayer world files you have, and your map folder. LPS packs usually use JourneyMap or Xareos, the map folder will be named accordingly.
- Curseforge -> Right click the modpack instance -> „Open Folder”.
- ATLauncher -> Click „Open Folder” on the modpack instance.
- PrismLauncher -> Select your instance and click „Folder” on the right.
Navigate to the "minecraft" folder, and within that will be "saves" and "journeymap"/"xareos" depending on which the pack has. Copy/Move these folders to a safe location, and you can move them right back to the fresh copy of the pack when reinstalled.

Maybe there is something that breaks the world, so make a backup. But then you can change the modpack version to v37 in the level.dat file and it won't show that error anymore.

It's just that I'm playing for Feline in my save, so I'm wondering if something bad will happen if I enter the world. And as for Alfiq, Feline just has good abilities, while there are no debuffs (not counting the 1-heart penalty), unlike Alfiq

Because there are no recipes in the traditional sense. Instead, you craft every item with wood, stone and clay in the Furniture Station.

Every piece of furniture is crafted with the same materials: 1 wooden planks, 1 cobble stone, 1 clay ball. You simply select the piece of furniture that you want in the crafting table called Furniture Station.

i found this piece of lovely mod which cause flickering. you can disable or modify Gnetum settings

You can find higher rarity gems in other dimensions, but not in the Overworld.
There isn't any strict order in which you have to visit other dimensions. Generally speaking all other dimensions are roughly the same level-wise (but higher than the overworld), just the End dimension is even higher.
No, End is the highest (with the exception that you can get Esoteric in all the vanilla dimensions).

Loot table is based on mob level. Mob level is based on dimension and your skill tree mostly, yes.
Is there a different way to approach Forbidden Arcanus in this modpack? I can't find anything related to the mods Soul Enchantment which according to tutorials is a MUST to get started 
I've never heard of Soul Enchantment. Neither in the 1.16.5 nor the 1.20.1 version of Forbidden & Arcanus. Maybe you are looking at the 1.21 version of the mod?

can someone help me here? i have gotten help in the past, but i have a new issue now. fair warning, i have added a lot of mods to the base version of this pack MMC4, but overall it should be a simple fix? i'm just not sure where i went wrong. for reference, i am wanting to switch to the prism launcher for the pack i created on curseforge, it seems copying over the files/mods isn't enough anymore.

hmmm i would just try adding in half of your mods then attempting to load. Then try the other half until youre able to figure out whats causing a crash
i get that, but firstly, curseforge has this new fun thing where it won't allow ALL the mods from curseforge to export to wherever you put it and secondly i've even tried just copy/pasta just the entirety of all the mods from the mods folder from curseforge to prisms mods folder, then of course overwrite everything that was already there so it seems like yes, something isn't working properly, which is most likely AAAparticles, but why does disabling that mod cause so many more issues? its just a library mod that changes some particles. i apologize. this is just very tiring. especially after a few hours of trying to research and find out why this particular thing is happening. i appreciate both of your for your help. i will continue to try and figure out what the issue here is.

- It's not a crash, but I'm unable to launch my world now
- I was in my survival world, everything worked fine. I wanted to enter a command, so I used the 'share world' option, so I could activate the commands. Everything worked fine, until when I was in the Nether fighting with zombified piglins, there was an tick_exception_error( I don't remember if it's the exact name, but it's sthe error when the game takes too much time to process a tick) and so I was banned from the server because I was the subject of the error. Then i try to launch the survival world once again, but I'm stuck on the loading screen, even tho it's indicated that all the chunks are loaded. The strange thing is that I can still play on my other solo world, but not on this one. Is sthere any way I could fix this?

It did NOT crash, because there is a mod installed in the modpack that handles automatically the tick not being processed problem, so the game does not crash. And in the "multiplayer" world that I opened using the "share world" button, there was one of these problem that got me disconnected from the shared world( I was alone on it) in order for the game to NOT crash. So I don't have that, nor any file related to a crash that didn't happen

So it looks like your level.dat is totally corrupted
try deleting it, and renaming the file named level.dat_old to level.dat
I'm sorry if this has been asked about but I can't seem to find the exact fix I need: I'm hosting a server for some friends and I to play on. The version is 36.5 and we've added the Origins++ mod to the pack. We've been playing for 5 days now and this morning started having random server crashes. My only thought is that my power went out last night, but I have no other idea. The crash log is below and lists the suspected mods as being dungeons and combat, Neruina, and Better Combat. It also constantly references Player.java:19314. Three of these crashes have been while I was on the server so is something about my character or what I'm wearing bugged?

Is Alshanex Famililars mod broken? I don't seem to be able to find the Origin Island, Crystal Berries or Memory fragment at all. And i am not sure about how im supposed to get started with Ars Nouveau, - i tamed a Alshanex Familiar in the nether, i got it to follow me home but when i came online again it had just dissappeared without a trace.

can I have any tips it my first time playing the modpack
using any version of medieval origins revival after the 5/12/25 update for 1.20.1 causes an instant crash with no files or logs. If I try to run it with absolutely any other mods, it just crashes immediately. I've even tried just paring it down to one mod at a time, but they all crash with anything beyond the 5/12 update. If I roll back to that update it works fine. Should I just keep an outdated version, or am I missing something very obvious?

Alex disabled all methods of locating the caves so that people would use his mod mechanics of discovering the maps. It's fun but also takes a while, and it can happen that you need two maps to find a specific cave.

I've never heard of an Origin Island. Based on the mod's changelog it seems that the structure was added in the 1.21.1 version of the mod, so it wouldn't be in MMC4.
Oh ok it makes more sense then, i don't get how i am supposed to get the Harp weapon when its supposedly only able to be obtained from an Mysterious Orb you only can find on Origin Island
I can't verify this information, but allegedly you obtain the Harp weapon by right clicking with the Mysterious Orb, which in 1.20.1 is obtained from the Dead King in the Catacombs.

You can craft an Orb of Origin. Using it brings you back to the origin-select screen.
you can use /locate to find the caves, its just the seperation is set to like 3000 in the config so its hard to find them.
well atleast /locate was working for me. but i had to tp thousands of blocks for it to initially work
It's less than reliable. You can stand directly above a cave biome and /locate will tell you that it can't find any.
The mod is super great, although I will say i dont think its possible to craft a sleeping bag. It seems to share the same recipe with some other mod using it to craft cloth, and itll only craft that for me. Can sleeping bags be found in generated loot? I still would like to have one... eventually lol
there should be a little button above the output in the crafting grid that lets you switch between recipes! I also crafted a bunch of sheets by accident

I knew it did some goofy stuff but this is just next level
im struggling on trying to find a solution but how can i fix the pathfinding of these NPCs? the problem is that all of the animal NPCs in the fence and very frequently the mine colony NPCs get stuck trying to jump over a block and they spam jump to try to get over a block. the animals arent able to jump over the block at all and are stuck on the lower part of the floor. the two NPCs in the back left will get stuck trying to jump over a block but then try pathing somewhere else just to most likely get stuck in a different spot.
this only started happening within the past two days on our server and i don't know what changed. the server was still on v36.5 until just an hour ago and it didn't fix the problem. ive read sometimes there can be conflicting mods messing with their ai but i dont even know where to start. unless theres something else causing this issue.

Hey this isn't a crash issue but I have a small family server and after updating from v26 of MMC5 to the latest version (v28) we're having an issue where we can't hit entities, but they can hit us. All in survival mode, all in the same FTB team, all in the same minecolony, there's no chunks claimed, and we weren't having the issue in v26. Any ideas?
It seems to be intermittent as well, at one point we thought it was because of a ring that was equipped from Iron's Jewelry, but then it kept happening even after throwin it in lava

rip well i guess it is something to do with the gravity since new mobs move just fine. that explains why i dont have any problems with hostile mobs
welp I found out how to get Iron's spells to go absolutely crazy and make you invincible

i guess it probably only works for modifiers added after the new version
yeah and i just tried forcing the big moon and sleeping through the night but still got the same thing. maybe disabling the mod would fix it?

i actually don't think disabling the mod would fix it, you might have to do something like /attribute @e[type=cow] forge:entity_gravity base set 0.08
you might need @e[type=cow,sort=nearest,limit=1] and do it for each instead of just @e[type=cow]

Looking for some help understanding what's going wrong in the crash logs -- originally I wasn't crashing at all (the first day or so of playing on the server), then I started crashing routinely -- for no obvious reason. It would just start to get worse, and sometimes just logging in and moving around I'll crash again. We've reinstalled Minecraft and the mod itself, updated Java and graphics drivers, etc.

yeah i was till getting problem after updating from 1.16 to 1.18
What ended up fixing it for me was going through logs and noting that two relics were trying to render (I think on the player model) 500 times each -- the "Leather Belt" and "Quiver" relics which are a belt/back item. Removing those items, I've not crashed since.

its telling me i need maple wood from blue skies...
None of the wood types from Biomes O' Plenty can be used to craft chests. I guess they didn't add the c:planks tag to their wooden planks (or whatever tag is used to define wood recipes).
If you decide to go to the Blue Skies dimension though, you can get the Alchemist table there with which you can turn all BOP wood into another type that is able to craft chests.
Farmings mobs is a good way to get gems, yes. The higher the mob's level, the higher rarity the gems. Note that you can't get Ancient rarity from spawner mobs though, only from naturally spawned mobs.

Yes, the more points you have in your skill tree the higher the mob level. It also depends on the dimension though. Mob level can't get very high in the Overworld, it is higher in the Nether and highest in the End.
Unless stated otherwise, weapons deal physical damage.
If you use a spell while holding a weapon, it will use the weapon's crit chance.

Does Alex's Caves have issues generating on Multiplayer servers? i got a map and wen't to the spot it sent me (like 16k blocks to south) and there is no Abyssal Chasm in the area at all.
I don't know if it's any different on servers, but in singleplayer I had about a 50% chance for the map to show an actual biome, so you need on average 2 maps for each cave.

Yes, the caves are rare indeed. You might have to explore a lot in different directions until it finds one.

I don't think there is a command to max out your skill tree. The skill tree is limited to 150 points. You can give yourself points with /skilltree add @s 150 or smth like that (you can auto-complete the command, too).

both of the modrinth versions are borderline unplayable, the maintainer did a very bad job with them

Currently LPS packs are not being updated on the Modrinth site, and as such are outdated. This is while the devs figure out a way to automate uploads of the pack properly.
Until the packs can be properly updated, we recommend using ATL (use !alternates in #bots for further info on the installation process ) or Prism launcher. You can download the CurseForge version of our packs on these launchers while still being able to make instances from Modrinth versions of other packs not owned by us.
Please note this does not apply to individual mod projects of developers at LPS.
