I love when Minecraft adds features with practically 0 use and then mods just expand on it and then suddenly it's something you actually want to get
So there is one mob that randomly spawns, it is pink, fast and it will steal your weapon. When you kill it, it always drops it back. I did a ooopsie by accidentaly using sword with knowledge of the ages... Now I don't have my primary sword... 🥺

Ok The Nether quest line seems broken.
- The quests expects a kill of The Harbinger
- It says to use the Eye of Monstrous to find the Soul Blacksmith in the Nether
- That works but the boss found there is the Netherite Monstrosity
- The prerequisite is to Defeat the Dead King [Overworld]
- The Harbinger is actually found in the Overworld using an Eye of Mech
Also, most of the quests require a lot of exploration and this pack appears to really struggle with worldgen.
you know what i hate the most about the quest line - finding the lich lord in the ice tower - i have LITERALLY spent way too much time trying to find this yahoo

Oh. Well, this is the first time I've come across this crash, so it's unlikely that it would crash again for the same reason. (Unless one of the added mods is the culprit, but I doubt it).

Is there a way to store XP like in previous versions, in MMC4?
I need help with one thing and advice with another. First, how do i find ocean monument cause i need this stupid eye to finally get to end and also i need evoker and burried treasure one. The advice i need when it comes to minecolonies, i have my town next to sea and what do i do with that side when it comes to making wall? Should i just ignore it and set guard tower along the shore or is there some other way?

Transferring Your World
If you're playing Singleplayer and want to transfer your world to your server, simply go to your modpack files and navigate to the saves folder. Inside of this folder, you will see your world saves. Hello! I've been trying to figure out how to limit monster levels. I've been power leveling and now the monsters are like level 110 and do insane damage. I wanted to cap the level to 99, but doing so in the Auto leveling confic changes nothing. With so many mods I don't know where to look, so if anyone knows that would be a great help!
I already changed a few things, for one I want to be able to unlock everything in the passive skill tree as I play solo. However that just keeps growing the monsters further, which makes using the passive skill tree kinda pointless.

Okay pretty sure auto leveling is broken or something, I set the starting level to 99 which should make all mobs spawn at level 99, but everything still spawns at level 1.
Okay I just adjusted the level scaling so it'll be around 99 when I reach my max skill level. Not quite how I wanted it to work but it'll have to do! Thx!
The other piece of this is the config values are mostly ignored, only the modifiers per level are used. the rest are changed in the datapack /config/paxi/datapacks/mmc_autoleveling

Typically 4GB + 1GB for the 2nd player and every after that.

If you host it locally on your PC, just make sure you have enough total RAM. Otherwise, that should be fine.

I can't see any reason for that high RAM usage with 0 players. You could either try to set it up fresh, or I'd say something is weird with the server host.

At least not from me, sadly. I checked my own log files, I have pretty much the same errors as your log file, except the "Incorrect key" errors of which you have like a thousand. I don't know what's causing them or if they are relevant regarding the memory leak though.

The problem I'm running into is that as certain chunks load in, there seems to be blocks, structures, or textures that load improperly, showing up as purple and black blocks, before crashing. Sometimes it crashes instantly, and sometimes it stays there, before other blocks in the world start to glitch (disappearing entirely or appearing as purple and black blocks)

Energy should be disabled, how did you install the modpack?
That should be the right way to do it, send the json you're trying to use
The best way is to just copy your world folder and any changes you've made into a fresh install of the new version
Update the Ice and Fire Community Edition mod

Can anyone explain to me the difference between magic power and spell power?
How can i disable the auto chunk push function ?
Honestly, no idea. I tested magic power in an earlier version of MMC4 and it didn't effect damage from iron's, so I just went with spell power on everything. I didn't really use other magic except for utility in that playthrough so I have no idea if it effects damage from the other magic mods like wizards or ars. Worth it to mess around in creative to test it if you have the time

You can use the Nature's Compass to locate the closest Deep Dark biome. Using the compass from different locations in the world will lead you to different Deep Dark biomes, until you find one with an Ancient City.

Do you want only eterna, or are you asking how to get Quanta and Arcana?

Basic bookshelves give only Eterna, but when you get special bookshelves like Sea Shelves, Hell Shelves, Deepshelves etc, then those also add Quanta and Arcana. For Quanta you could also get a Beeshelf I believe.
In the beginning you can also use skeleton/wither skeleton skulls for some Quanta, and candles for some Arcana I think.
When you type "quanta" or "arcana" into JEI, it should show all items that add those.
If a restart of server and client doesn't fix it I would manually confirm that both sides are indeed using the same mod version.

Eterna increases the maximum enchantment level that you can get.
Quanta adds a range to the outcome (basically a chance to get +X levels on enchantments or -X levels on enchantments)
Arcana increases the likelihood to get rare enchantments.

If you just want to get rid of them, use a grindstone. If you want to extract the enchantments onto a book, you can use a tome of superior scrapping (destroys the item) or a tome of extraction (keeps the item).

Maybe, though usually the log would specify the mods and not say the forge version is wrong. Unless 1.21.1 is different in that regard. If you want you can compare the \mods folders on server and client though.

oh you know what, I had an issue last wek with the Siren and getting stuck in the Pink overlay, tried updating to the latest version of Ice and Fire, and ultimately had to remove it altogether then ;launch to reset, the put it back in and relaunch again to get back to normal. Just updating the whole pack again today and it must have put the beta file back in
but when i loggged back in the sandworm kill registered and no crash, but ill take the beta mod out

Im playing MMC5 and I just got into a fight with some Ice and Fire sirens, but my screen is still pink LONG after they died, and LONG after I myself died. Im worried this is permanent and I'm not sure how to fix it
I think the cause of the bug was due to me wearing an active cow backpack which negated the lure effect but didn't correctly remove the pink tint
however now I can't seem to be affected by the lure regardless of the bag being off or on

The level cap depends on your own level (for example, enderman are capped at lvl 100 for me), but it's lower on v36 than it was on v35, yes.
Interesting. The max level didn't actually change in the datapack (it was set to 100 in v35 as well), but instead of a .zip it's now a normal folder. Perhaps it's only now working as a limit because of that.

Oopsie doopsie. I put the autoleveling back into a .zip as it was in v35 to see what happens, and now Endermen are a little crazy.
It seems the author of the spell scroll textures forgot the Aqua scroll. It has the old texture still and looks a little out of place now.

Yeah, I had to revert it back though. Mobs should be below level 180 so that you can't easily farm esoteric affix items.

You cannot bind any familiar to their respective trinket, and while you can store a familiar in a "Familiar Tome", upon releasing it from the tome it just vanishes out of existence.
I mean I've seen similar issues with Apotheosis's Ender Leads in 1.21 where if you don't release the stored mob shortly after it'll just vanish from existence

In the Nether you will frequently find Epic (purply) rarity items, and in the End you will frequently find Godforged and Ancient rarity items.
Above ancient are both in Nether and End, a little less frequent.

And I specced alot into stat boosting on my skill tree to get better stats in making gear

Eyy, I also got an Ice Dragonsteel weapon, but mine is the greatsword.
I like the greatsword but value the reach alot more, especially for bossing
I like the reach too, but at this point I can tank most of the hits with my armor, so I can get up close and do some real damage. I also have healing and reinforcement spells, and a spell I can use to avoid damage for a few seconds.
If I understood cHin correctly, skill tree bonuses should apply to Celestisynth weapons as long as you craft them after getting the skill tree passives.
I haven't gotten any of the buffs

Well there are 3 main ways you can up difficulty
- You can go into config/paxi/mmc_autoleveling and up all the levels of mobs from there
- You can go into the autoleveling config and increase the stat gains per level
- Update Medieval to 2.0.1 and then in the Medieval config, up the amount of points per skill tree level to be higher

since nether also just gives alot of xp
The funiest part is how little you need to make the nether easy, just getting say iron tools and armor and your good to go
then hunt down towers and netherforts
and maybe if your lucky, find the monstroity structure and just sneakily grab all the netherite
Nothing beats the gems and affixes you'll find
Seriously, just set up a mob farm and you'll be golden
Used to be able to get the Augmenting Table rather easily too but uh... I made sure to make it much harder to get
Now you pretty much have to go to Otherside or the End to get it now
Sigil recipe is unchanged though so once you get the Ancient item to convert you can harnest its power easily

I don't play MMC5, but muon mentioned a while ago that he considers [disabling](#medieval-mc-forge message) the sort-buttons. Perhaps it has something to do with that. If not, then it'd probably help to see the logs.

If you're playing MMC4, mob level from spawners depends on dimension and your own level. Place the spawner in the End to get higher levels.
Depends on your needs. Dragonsteel, Crimson, Tyr, Ignitium with integrated elytra, or the armor sets from traveloptics (T.O Magic).

Helmet: Gem of the Royal Family (+15% to all stats)
Chestplate: Jewel of the Depths (+3.5% to all stats)
Chestplate: Gem of the Combatant (-27.5% physical dmg taken)
Leggings: Gem of the Combatant (-27.5% physical dmg taken)
Boots: Eye of the Ur-Ghast (+10% to all stats)
I also like the gems that give nice status effects like Monstrous (Jewel of the Cataclysm) or Reinforced (Soultwisted Jewel).
All the other gems more or less depend on your needs: more HP, more armor if defensive, more attack damage, more mana or cooldown reduction of offensive.
The reworked dimension hasn't been implemented yet tho, right?

Yes, you should get as many sockets as you can, and put gems into the empty sockets that I didn't list. For example, if you get 3 sockets on your helmet, you could put the Gem of the Royal Family, and then also maybe a Gem of the Warlord for attack damage and a Ruby for +10% max health.

@frigid spire So, in MMC4: mobs from spawners can drop purply rarity items if their mob level is high enough. You can increase the mob level from spawner mobs by either placing the spawner in another dimension (Nether is higher than Overworld, End is higher than Nether), or by putting more skill points into your skill tree (which is the less good method since that makes all mobs more powerful).
Bursting Vitality increases the Healing Received, yes.
So it's only good if you have a high life-regeneration or other sources of self-heal.

Generally speaking Nether mobs are ~20 levels higher than overworld mobs, and End mobs are ~40 levels higher than overworld mobs. Gotta ask though: Are you on v35 or v36 of MMC4?

Sugar Rush is some awful effects that sounds nice on paper but it absolutely terrible in action. You get slowfalling and can't really move or do anything.
Soulsteal is 100% lifesteal.
That might explain the problem. The dev accidentally removed the player-based mob scaling in v36. Could you please update the mod "Medieval" to 2.0.1 and see what level your mobs have then?

I'm tempted to remove its affix. If you want the effect, get the gem for it.
I'm also tempted to remove the Fatal Flicker affix cause nobody like uncontrollably dashing forward

Not at all. All you need to do is replace the mod-file in your \mods folder. As long as you don't touch anything else, you're good.
If you play on a server, replace it both server and client side.
Update with curseforge Im afraid it will replace other files 
Don't use the CurseForge launcher to update. Simply do right click on your modpack profile -> "Open Folder", go to \mods and manually delete the medieval-1.20.1-2.0.0.jar file, then paste this file into the same folder:

Dragons don’t seem to be blacklisted in MMC5, since I can still catch them with the Occult Ender Lead
The blacklist would be about binding them to a spawner :P

You could either not bind it to a spawner, or check whether dragons are blacklisted, or remove the mod C2ME and see if that changes anything.

I could have also done Ars Nouveau's Enchanting Apparatus but I chose Eidolon's Magic Workbench because it's easy to craft and easy to use, while giving me just a few more slots that I can use for more ingredients

There's an unofficial guide book for Forbidden & Arcanus, muon would just need to add it...
And Eternal Stella are pretty much going to be necessary for the Esoteric bosses (unless you want your armor to quickly break in combat)
My game still crashes

Is there a good spot to look for Esoteric gear? Ancient and even Artifact is farmable in the End but i'm kinda struggling with Heirloom and Esoteric as I havent gotten them even in the end
Getting Esoteric gear is a bit of a hassle currently. You need a maxed out skill tree and then farm certain bosses for a chance to get an Esoteric drop.
Heirloom is dropped by Endermen in the End though once your level is high enough.

hey i did some testing with all the bows in this modpack... is everything aside from vanilla bows/crossbows incapable of using tipped arrows?
bows from cataclysm, twilight forest, and celestisynth arent capable of using them
making endless quiver useless unless youre using a vanilla bow

You can either get lucky and find it in dungeon chests, or get it from the Enchanting Table. I think it's a Treasure enchantment, so you'll need an Aquatic Shelf of Arcane Treasures.

Is there anything in this mod pack that provides an extreme drawback but increases damage output substantially?
IE: -100% armor +100% damage
There's a gem that does pretty much that but 50% on perfect iirc

I upped the level requirement for Esoteric Reforging (cause at this stage of the game, 200 is kinda lazy)
So now you need a minimun requirement of 500
If I'm being at all honest, this is still kinda low given the capabilities of Apotheosis and other factors like Autoleveling

I guess current would have higher initial damage, but it falls off later in the fight
It mostly exists as an easy way to kill stronger mobs
If you have a boss with 1000 hp and you have 10% Current HP damage, that's 100 damage on top of everything else that you deal, and often you can get higher than 10%
If you have a high amount and high base damage, then you can kill any mob in the game with no more than a few hits
well, the ones like leviathan and such

Yeah Aether does for tools, and by default Blue Skies also does it

well yeah, 1500 is low because my enderman farm can get there in like 15 minutes but to max out the skill tree i need like 400 points and its already costing me 1200 levels for one stupid point at 135 skill points

question: i updated my serverpack to v36, however whenever I try to join the server it keeps telling me its still in version 33. I can still join the server but will this be a problem in the future?

The tests were done with Knowledge of the Ages, Looting and Scavenger enchantments as well as potions of Ancient Knowledge. Those might have a greater impact than the mob alone.
Yeah, I have Scav 3, KoA 3 and Looting 6 so there's still some way to go since I saw KoA 4

There's a key combination to change the requirements
You can set it to always active, never active, active when not sneaking, and active when sneaking
I prefer active when sneaking by default
It's Ctrl + O by default
i would prefer active when not sneaking because if i wanna strip mine with it, im not sneaking

That's why I prefer when sneaking, so that I usually have to purposefully trigger it
The solution is to just have a lot of picks. I have 1 fortune with autosmelt, 1 fortune without autosmelt, 1 silk and 1 multi-block pickaxe.
Multi-wield is always the answer to everything
