Yes, silk touch should be fairly easy to get even from a low level enchanting table. I think.
That should be more than enough. You can see available outcomes at the top right, see if Silk Touch is among them when inserting a pickaxe.
Hmm, haven't tested it. Vein Mining is limited on a certain amount of blocks though, so it will probably work fine on smaller trees but not chop down entire big ones.
If you shift before breaking it will activate like a treecap without having to mine other logs.

I ended up getting this enchantment (II, not III) yet mobs are still dropping a considerable amount of items which mostly seem to be loot bags and gems.
Do you know if there are some items this just doesn’t include?

Loot bags should be converted into XP as far as I know. But gems as well as affix items will drop still. Those aren't part of the loot table.
I'm not aware of any. Only gems.
I have noticed that ever since adding this enchantment if I let my mob grinder stack till entity cramming starts taking place, then swing the sword it will crash the server 🥹
The poor thing can’t convert this much loot to XP with its 3GB of RAM

I think it's too far away and I don't really need anything else nearby. I'm almost never below 75% health.

Any dimension if your lvl is high enough. But the End is probably the easiest since the mobs there are naturally higher level.
Generally speaking it's blue in the overworld, purple in the Nether and orange in the End.

Hi. I'm fairly new to Minecraft, and have been playing MMC4 for a few weeks now. Unfortunately, every time a new update is released, I am unable to sign into MMC4 without crashing. I'm playing on a Mac, which seems to be the issue (maybe?), since others I play with are able to sign in on their PCs. Is there some solution to this issue...besides getting a PC? ☺️ It generally crashes very soon after I click "play" from the Minecraft launcher. I get the message, "Oops! Medieval Minecraft 4 - v35 crashed without a crash report..." followed by an "Exit Code 1" message. I usually end up having to completely reinstall the modpack, whIch usually works until the next update. I did this yesterday and it worked for the day. However, this morning, I once again cannot sign in. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
Do you know how to access the modpack directory? There is a \logs folder inside. Would be great if you could send the latest.log from it.

After 1 hour (of being loaded) the corpse will turn into a skeleton, but maintain its functionality. I don't think it will ever disappear.

When you manually add a mod and then update the modpack, the added mod remains in the mod folder. Maybe, since they updated all mods, those weren't detected by the modpack when it updated and instead CurseForge added another one - the correct version - during the update?
that can happen yeah, but in this case crash assistant is saying they have 2 of literally every mod, both with the same version
i don’t even think they actually updated any mods, it’s either some crazy launcher install issue or a bug with crash assistant

Why does the dragon priest set lack armor rating for all pieces other than boots?
When I enchant and reforge this will think spinning sword it fires carry the enchants and reforge stats?
is there a solution for the demons and imps filling the mob cap for gold farms in the nether and therefore ruining them, is there a way to aggro them, they dont seem to be aggroed by villagers, did anyone deal with this or does anyone have potential solutions?
Thank you for all your help. With my son's help, we were able to determine that I did, in fact, have two versions of every mod installed. It seems that iCloud was interfering because Curseforge was actually installed into my iCloud account. So, apparently, iCloud was replacing almost every old file in the instance and creating duplicates.
I uninstalled Curseforge from iCloud, removed all the old/extra files, installed the java version suggested, and I can now sign in.
I tried using one of the upgrade orbs from irons, and it crashed my game and deleted the orb, book, and spells in it

That's luck. It helps with catching good stuff when fishing and also influences the amount (perhaps also quality?) of loot in some chests. Whether it has an effect or not depends on how the chest's loot table is defined or smth.

thnx-- is there a wiki where I can just read all the affix stuff from apotheosis? I've tried finding a page similar to Iron's Spells and have had no luck. Sometimes i'll see like "on hit-- gain vitality" and i'm just like wtf does that actually do
I don't think such a site exists. And most of those effects are not even from Apotheosis itself, they integrate effects from other mods, so you will find such affixes using potion effects from Alex's Caves, Ars Nouveau and whatnot.
@candid ravine Sometimes, just sometimes, those effects also exist as potions. Then you can find the effect in JEI.

Spell Power is for Iron's, Magic Power is for Ars Nouveau.

Some really lucky affixes. The base item has 3 armor and 3 armor toughness.
i have a few of those in my leftovers chests

but its not nearly as good armor toughness-wise
The first one is almost worth using, unless you're going for an armor set with set-bonus, which a lone helmet would disrupt. Once you get an Augmenting Table you can see if you can perhaps push the armor and toughness even higher.

Yes, you can increase armor and toughness through Apotheosis. My chestplate is currently purply tier, and I could get this toughness increase for example:

You can also use gems to increase both. For example these are the gems I have on my pants. One of them is armor:

Good, it's definitely worth it. And you can take out gems from items without destroying the item, then upgrade the gems and put them back in. With a sigil of withdrawal.

Nah, just to the Deep Dark biome. So you'll need to use it from different locations to be led to different Deep Dark biomes until you find one with a city.

Are XP/Drop rates affected by the biome/dimension in any way other than level?
Like I have some incomplete wither spawners in my mob grind but I built it in the overworld. Does it matter?
I don't think that those things are affected, but I was too lazy to test (and I removed the PickUpNotifier mod anyway so I can't tell how much XP I'm picking up). But I did put my XP farm in the End anyway so that the gems and affixes I still get from it are better rarity.

I've had the same problem. Maps are slow to find anything in general, I also have a "Castle Map" that is unable to locate anything anywhere in the world.
I don't think so, there is nothing these rarity items have in common (name-wise). I didn't just put down a bunch of chests though with all stuff dropped inside, I actually set up a proper sorted storage and only then connected it to the terminal. Adding items to the terminal puts them on top of existing stacks, so it keeps the order. Non-stacking items are put in "filter chests", so I only need to check those for affix items etc.
When I look for affix items "of the" or "of' are common terms

Mobs seem absurdly tanky and tough in MMC4. Even with diamond armor enhanced by all the armor crafting perks, I just get torn apart in the nether or demon realm. Is there something we're expected to be doing that I don't know of?
Nothing in particular comes to mind. There are a few things to keep in mind though: mobs generally scale with the amount of skill points you have in your skill tree, so if you get points there too fast then mobs might be stronger than expected. Mobs are also generally higher level in the Nether than in the Overworld. Since you need Nether-materials to improve your own gear to Nether-mob levels, it is recommended to avoid confrontration with Nether mobs early on while still collecting those materials (for example for Hell shelves, or purply rarity materials).

I also cheesed a ton of levels in the nether by building a pseudo mob grinder by building around an incomplete wither spawner & merking them with sunbeam repeatedly lmfao

In your \config folder is a file called medieval.json5. In it you can change the line
"levelsPerPoint": 0.4 to 0.0 if you wish no scaling based on skill points at all.

to kinda add on to this, while it is difficult ranged damage and using apotheosis mas much as possible can help turn the tide, though i completely understand the difficulty curve being a bit much
magic is also something that you definitely shouldn't ignore
There are plenty of ways to cheese fights with magic, but I kinda don't wana CHEESE fights. I like melee combat, getting in there and smacking everyone around, maybe use some fun AoE spells.

yeah, i'm of two minds with the leveling
on one hand, yeah if you get tougher it makes enemies not a pushover
on the other, the scaling on bosses or certain cratures is rediculous and you lose the feeling of getting stronger
I am fond of REGION based scaling. The nether should be harder than the over world, the end should be harder still, and etc.
But there should then also be ways for you to grow strong enough to handle that.

Eh, MMC5 has the same scaling issue. Muon LITERALLY never really play-tested stuff much if at all.
Currently working on a Testing Grounds/Setup specifically for Testing new mods and / or finding out what is broken, op, etc, within the NEO-FORGE MMC5 Minecraft Modpack. Suffice to say: Even just the SMALL amount of actual problems that were recently brought to Muon's attention will likely make a big difference.

I feel horror packs are the hardest to do considering 90% of the mods for horror related content are MCreator made, aka crap with a side of horrible performance

Depends. You can salvage Apotheosis affix items and gems, and smelt some armor into nuggets.
If there is a way, it's usually shown in JEI.

SOME stuff to call throw into the salvaging table from Apotheosis that don't have affixes. Like horse armor. I haven't noticed it anything else that will go in, but I haven't been trying either
Amulets of Undying, too, yes.
I've noticed you can salvage things that aren't just apotheosis, like horse armor, which can give you metal ingots/diamonds and leather back.

I don't think you can add that capability. There are around 440 weapons that can be imbued though.

It doesn't appear to alter the damage of the smite whether it's on the sword or in the spell book though (in terms of the presented damage value)
Does that mean that wielding the sword and casting divine smite from the spellbook does less damage than imbuing the sword with the spell and casting it that way-- or are they p much the same
Wielding the sword and casting the spell is the same as having the spell imbued on the weapon (damage-wise). Just when you cast the spell from the spell book without holding the sword it will do less. Besides saving the spell slot in the book, the advantage of having it imbued on the weapon is that you're always sure you have the weapon equipped when casting it.
The high damage of my imbued spell might've smth to do with my overall stats though.

They do exist, according to the config. Though I have no clue what those numbers mean in terms of rarity.
If the distance from spawn is counted in chunks (which I assume), then it's farther out than 6.400 blocks from spawn.

For Infinite Ham, you gotta eat the ham. Every time you eat the ham, our ham gets a bit of XP, and if you get enough XP to fill the bar, then you get a skill point that lets you level your abilities.

It turned out that I have 5 items that give those gray hearts, so I compared their stats to see what they all have in common. I'm fairly certain that it's their "+ X Max Health".
It could be dungeons and combat adding a strange form of max health, or it could be “resilience”
Probably the former then, because my helmet adds those hearts as well and I cannot see Resilience on it:

Hello! I'm running a server on MMC4 Forge 1.20.1 v35. While running around yesterday, my friends and I were constantly getting jump-scared by loud explosion sounds and messages like "dungeons_and_combat:remanent_camp regenerated." as we were passing by new structures. The explosion audio only occurred when something was being generated. Is there a way to turn that sound off?
pls restaurant worker always tweaking and I have to pick up them up with pick up mod once in a while otherwise they just standing still doing absolutely nothing like complete still and i cant even hit them

Required:
Open the game directory (right click pack -> open folder), navigate to the "crash-reports" folder and upload the latest available crash report.
If there is no crash report, navigate to the logs folder and upload "latest.log."
If there is no log, navigate to the base pack directory and upload the hs_err_pid file, if there is one.

A "farm" seems difficult to do because the rarity of items dropped by mobs very much depends on your own level. However, loot chests in the Nether tend to have a fair amount of purply gear which you can salvage into Arcane Sands.

it's possibly it's just an issue with minecolonies itself
try updating minecolonies as well, if it still crashes you should report it to them

Edit: Oh yeah, and "Encounter a Stoneborn" seems to be broken as well. Have traded and killed them, still uncompleted.

Gave it a spin last night and other than the obvious decrease in performanec for worldgen-- chunks are taking legit ages to load (I mean anywhere between 30-60 seconds per chunk) whereas before it was almost unnoticable when traveling into new areas.
get this screen any time I click on my server, the app becomes completely unusable after this screen comes up and i have to restart the entire instance. on neoforge
I believe this might be an issue exclusive to Tectonic 3.x+

Hey, does anyone know if one of the mods messes with the probability of getting Mending out of the enchanting table? Cause I am running a lot of books through, and haven't seen it once yet. It's also possible I'm just having terrible luck, but I could see apotheosis or something changing the chance of getting the "best" enchant
You can't get Mending from the enchanting table in vanilla Minecraft because it's a treasure enchantment, and you can only get it from the enchanting table in this modpack if you have a Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures.
... I coulda swore I got it in the past.... good to know
By the way, when you click on that questionmark at the top right of the enchanting table, you can see all available outcomes with your current table setup :)

Hey I am having a problem where almost every time I find a structure a message pops up on the bottom of my screen saying so and so structure has been regenerated which doubles the enemies anyone know what is causing this

is all the big bosses spell resistance? lightning lance does 1447 damage almost no damage to the abyssal boss and the the harbinger
It's a feature meant for servers, so that players don't just encounter looted structures. The doubling of creatures is probably not intended though. If you're in single player or don't need that feature, you could disable it in the medieval.json5 config file.

I'm thinking I'll change auto-regeneration to require a manual confirm by using the wayfinder's medallion as well
players will just get a prompt if a structure is eligible for free regeneration instead of doing so automatically
I think that will already pretty much be the behavior if you disable auto regen in the config
you just won't get a notification, but the medallion will tell you if it failed because you already regenerated that structure

Is there some way to check how much durability a item actually has remaining, rather than just guessing based off the bar? Some mod packs just straight up give you a number, but no button I can think to press is giving me it.

Next question : Does Life-Mending actually WORK? Now that I CAN see the numbers... they aren't going up no matter how much I cut myself at the blood altar and heal.
Errr, you shouldn't have to cut yourself. Life-Mending should use your life to repair stuff simply when holding it.
Life Mending says it uses SOURCES of healing, making it sound like it happens when I'm regaining life. And thus hurting myself is the easiest way to make myself need to regain life. I guess I could hug a cactus instead, but thats less convenient.
Though holding the item in question made it work, I dunno why I didn't think of that

Mob levels boost damage. Nether mobs are naturally a higher level than overworld mobs, so you are probably getting the bad end of the stick.
I personally disabled the thing allowing mobs to scale with the player.
Warp plates might work well.

There are a number of structures that have amethyst blocks as decoration, you can cut those into shards on a cutting board.
A Dowsing Rod (also from Ars) can help you find Amythest as well.

Of Note : The other dowsing rods help you find the GEORE of those other resources, not the actual resource. Geore is basically a crystalized variant of the resource, which is purely decorational except for the budding blocks which can be harvested ala Amythest

All classes have advantages and disadvantages. It depends more on what playstyle you prefer (melee, range, magic - tank, assassin or summoner etc). Some are more difficult to play than others, as indicated by the colored dots.
Potions can get insane, especially if you brew the Ancient Knowledge potion.
I was able to get, like, 600 levels in 2 minutes with a Ancient Knoweldge potion made with the potion perks
(Ancient Knowledge gives bonus XP)
Important Note : Mobs scale with how many perk points you got. Enemies will get stronger as you level.

@safe shale Check in JEI whether there is a recipe for the "Orb of Origin". If yes, you can always change your origin later if you don't like it. So there's less need to overthink it now. Just try something out that sounds good to you.

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.
To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "Install". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATL and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.

Mana gems help with Iron's as well, but spell damage gems indeed count toward Ars only. Muon said Iron's becomes otherwise too OP too quickly.

Required:
Open the game directory (right click pack -> open folder), navigate to the "crash-reports" folder and upload the latest available crash report.

No, you can't transfer affixes anymore. You can still get the same affixes on your own item, but it's more expensive; using the Reforging and Augmenting table.

what do yall consdier the best armor set for 1.20?
That kinda depends on your build and your preferences. If you simply want the best armor and armor toughness, it's Dragonsteel or Crimson, if you want endgame armor that has integrated elytra, it's Ignitium, but if you want extra effects and stuff you should also consider T.O's armor sets (Primordial, Tectonic, Wraithguard, Exoskeleton).
yeah I saw the t.o's armor sets and they were just slighty weaker than dragon steel in toughness, but was wondering if there was anything more op than that

At some point those little difference in armor toughness don't really matter anymore. Especially when you get high rarity affixes that boost those (someone sent a screenshot before of a 3-armor/3-toughness item that had more than 20 armor and some 15 toughness because of Apotheosis). Add some gems to that and any armor will protect you.

I haven't really farmed any other dimension so far (only went there to complete quests, really).
Built a farm in the end with pushers and it drops artifact level gear. works ok but heard it also depends on your max points attributed to the passive tree.
Also, dont have a good solution to void usless items
If you use a hopper system you can integrate backpacks to void unwanted items.
everytime i acsess the backpack it resets my voided items in the filter
other route i was thinking was with Blood magic and nodes with filter but feel lazy at the moment
Uhh, that's not how it's supposed to be. I can access my placed backpack just fine without the void filter changing o.O
when i wear the backpack it works fine and can go in and out as many times. but when its placed with void filter and feeding filter. they reset it everytime i interact with it when its placed

I checked my mob-level around spawn of every dimension, and the End seems to be by far the highest:
Overworld: lvl 54
Everdawn/bright: lvl 64
Aether: lvl 74
Nether: lvl 74
Twilight: lvl 60
Undergarden: lvl 64
End: lvl 94
makes sense, the ender dragon fight was hilarious when all the enderman were dropping epic/mythic and higher items. Just sat there and farmed the enderman running up the staircase when the dragon perched

(Just need to put Eternal Stella on the Peacock for it to not break ever.)

#3, A Minecraft Mod that adds content that is kinda similar to the Witchery Minecraft mod at first glance, but adds completely different and unique features such as being able to send people packages and letters, unique books for writing in, A storage similar to a Shulker Box but with more capacity + Ender chest like version, Literally being able to PAINT YOUR OWN PICTURES and hang them on a wall in minecraft, mob spawn stoppers, an easier way to get leather, a block that gives you 25 percent more planks per log AND can strip entire stacks of logs for you, a companion that can fight, pick pocket's, collect item drops into a container, and harvest crops.
#4, And Oldie but a Goodie, A unique and well known minecraft mod revolving around Graveyards and Darkly Colored Metal.
#5, A Minecraft Mod embodying Darker aspects and Chaos, be it Clowns, Suicidal skeletons, Nightmares, and more.
does it only have to be one mod? cuz the best options out of all that is #1 and 3. Horses are meh once you get a spell book and have angel wings and buring dash. theres tons of graveyards already unless it adds something truly unique for early or mid game, and for #5, same thing with unless it adds something truly unique. Most people are gonna spend their time building so decor goes best and others like to play with their friends on servers so #3 for storage and roleplaying fits nicely
Suggestions for minecraft modpacks here are only one minecraft mod at a time and full force will be used for play-testing and progressing through the chosen minecraft mod once one of the aforementioned 5 minecraft mods are chosen.
