ive played with ice and fire many times in the past, ive never encountered this issue before across many mod versions
Well if you can load back in you can kill the mob before it crashes. There's a command to do that.
i cannot load the world at all
i have no backups as its a singleplayer world and i tend to not do that
the only idea i have is to attempt to update ice and fire and hope that issue is fixed in the updated version, assuming its not currently up to date
There's a tool somewhere that lets you edit save files. You might be able to destroy the entity in question. I don't remember what its called though.
There was also a mod that fixed a lot of problems and let you continue when exceptions happened, but I don't remember the name of that one either.
unfortuneately my worries were correct, the mod is up to date
could try actually removing the newest Ice & Fire version and installing the next oldest one - it might be more stable
i will look for advice on the ice and fire discord as well, seeing as this is an issue with the mod. not the pack

One thing you could try is take your save game folder, config folder, and options.txt and copy them to another location and then uninstall and reinstall the whole pack.

Well, this could be a little annoying and somewhat tedious depending on how far your progress was, but the worst case scenario still has a solution. Create another world in creative with cheats, give yourself the stuff that you had/the important stuff (hopefully you at least remember the important stuff), build the house and other structures you made, and then put yourself in survival and start the new world from there.
Also I don't think 1.16.5 does backups. Does it?
im not too far in, i can easily just start over, however that is incredibly annoying and now exploration is quite unrewarding if this is to occur with every stage 5 dragons

You really just need to backup the world itself when possible
because of stuff like this
either way, if this is a known and reoccuring crash, with no fix after it happens other than starting over (in the event of no backups). that is rather annoying

It's just that ice and fire mod is buggy sometimes

it shouldnt be too difficult to calculate given a big enough sample size

You don't understand, there's so many reasons for crashes. It's not just the tier 5. Something could've been happening with the tier 5 because of other specific circumstances happening at the same time. Like there's too many variables.

It's all good. Possible that it could've been awake due to it either just spawning in or for a reason it shouldn't have been. And then the path finding would probably have something to do with the environment it is in, but there's a lot of factors to consider there such as other mobs spawning, terrain generation, etc.
if thats the case, i mustve just spawned it in, and quite possibly there was a chuck error of sorts (similar to other structures having spawning errors) which caused something to be inside the dragons den

Copy your options.txt from your backup to the new one.
I've had that happen 2 times now and options.txt fixes it.
i went into the resourse packs tab and changed nothing and just exited it

Like I said though, just copy your options.txt in and reload and it fixes it.
Its more likely that one of the crashes triggered an emergency unload of the resource packs.
i conceed, there may be other settings faltering from the deletion, better safe than sorry

It's a file in the root of the modpack folder
Almost all the settings are default, except render and shadow distance is set to 8.
my settings remain unchanged, thankfully (at a glance anyways) i believe the rendering crash i experienced reset the resource packs only

there are mods in the pack that i may never touch as i do not know of their exisitence/know how to use them

you can carry as many as you can hold in your inventory, but only equip one at a time

Hey im having trouble getting evokers to spawn. ive tried raids over a dozen times now and ive got a illager spawner for emeralds and bad omen, but no evokers spawn in the raids

The keys is how I got the evoker eyes and totems , also lots of enemies so you can get loot bags
nether one is nice because you get a lot of wither skeletons

hey, can you not pick up spawners with silk touch tools? the ones on my server just break and give out shards
you can if you enable the Apotheosis spawner module in the configs
it's disabled by default
I tried using an eternal stella on an enhanted diamon pickaxe but it has an X, is there a requirement like xp or levels?
instance folder > configs folder > apotheosis > find the one with the list of modules > change spawner module enabled to true

Is there a faster way to get sea lanterns than killing the sea humanoids?
I mean, in the long term a guardian farm would be the fastest - but it's kind of a big involved build.
Once it's built though you get tons of crystals and shards really fast
and you can craft all the lanterns and prismarine blocks you want

what changes between medieval mc 1.16.5 and 1.18.2 apart from the obvious changes like caves & cliffs? and is the 1.18.2 one stable cause i see only B releases

Hey I have a question regarding Medieval Minecraft 1.16.5 modpack
I'm in the Twilight Forest and have been completing the progression line. I killed the minoshroom thing and got the meef stroganoff. The issue is that as my origin is demon I can't consume the meef and therefore cannot continue on. Is there a fix for this?
You can craft an orb of origin to change origin. Pretty easy to do iirc.
Yeah, the orb is just one diamond surrounded by emeralds
so would the workaround be to change origin consume the meef then change back?

It's in keybinds. It's the secondary ability. I think it is unbound by default iirc. You can change it in keybinds.

whats the best armor in this pack
Complicated. Ars Nouveau as a whole is very strong. I heard that apotheosis adds affixes that can be taken from armors that have them (when you find them as loot) and be put on other armors. You have blood magic bound armor (assuming bound armor is still in blood magic for 1.16.5) and you also have Ultimerite which gives a ton of utility buffs. So the way to find this out is to find out exactly how much armor you need in the pack which includes testing stuff with prot VIII to see which armors you don't get hurt with on the most powerful bosses and mobs in the game. Then you would have to see if any of those armors can give you extra damage or utility. This would be a long process to test in creative, still possible though. Ideally you want as much armor as you need to not get hurt and then damage being top priority. That's the idea behind min-maxing in modpacks that provide uniquely different armor sets.
Dragonsteel also exists, but it's really just a whole lot of armor at the end of the day. Gotta find out if that much armor is necessary because if it isn't then there's way better options.

Don't think there's a single page because there's more than one mod for all the origins. You can, however, craft an orb of origin very easily and take a look at all of them. Just be sure to choose your same origin after you are done if you aren't looking to change origin.

Yeah, updates are nice, but if not all the mods are there it can take away from the experience.

Its mostly because all the function calls aren't named in the newest releases for a while, so you have to go through your mod and rename all the functions and variables which is a huge time sink.

Well your character is an 'entity' so you can probably edit its coordinates.

Nothing that got released anywhere, but the mod I made allowed you to do 3d crafting with a want item, and you could make a sword that had different effects based on how many mobs of a certain type you killed with it.
I just didn't have time to release it or keep up with it.
I also made these little bugs that would find strongholds.

Yeah, I hadn't added all the vanilla mobs but I had skeletons give you thorns and creepers give you fire damage.
You had to kill like 100 for the 1st level then 1000 for the next and so on.
Yeah, I would grind the hell outta that sword lol
It was expensive to make took emeralds, end stone, and diamonds, and obsidian.
I wanted to make 3d crafting recipes that would take redstones machines made in the world and turn them into a single block, but I never got that far.
I would suggest netherite now and possibly a nether star.
Yeah, it's just with most modpacks all those items are pretty easy to get now as loot. Except end stone, although chorus fruit can be found on the big ships from dungeons arise so maybe end stone can rarely be found there but I doubt it.

Villager trading is probably the easiest but can be tedious and annoying. Infinite dungeons are a good place to get a lot of enchanted book drops without having to explore - relatively easy but unless you already have several keys might not be worth your time. Then there is actual exploring and dungeon delving - can be easy depending on your gear and your seed, but more time consuming.
idk about lapis, but you can speed it up by placing it next to a soul jar that's being fueled by the volcanic sourcelink

In Minecolonies, why doesn't the forester hut make the planks for the builder? it has the recipes.
the basic huts don't do that, you need the sawmill for planks and other stuff

They'll use those recipes for things they need, I think, but won't just craft them if they don't need it

The pack says it has shader settings already but I do not have the option in video settings. I put complementary in the shaderpack folder already. What am I missing?

If you already chose, you can choose again with an orb thingy. It pulls up the same selection screen.

Note at least on 1.16 version, I don't think the weight for armor is enabled or working all that well, but you can use up your stamina just mining blocks. If the stamina bar fills with red โก symbols it will instantly kill you. And on the potion of regeneration, I think there are other options, if Atum 2 is in your pack it's glistening dates can substitute for ghast tears

There's several crucial mods for increased performance which are used in Luna Pixel Studio's modpacks, most of which are Forge versions of Fabric mods. They should only be downloaded from Modrinth, Curseforge, or Github:

It's called "corpse" and what it is supposed to do is place a corpse (your body laying down) after you die and all your items are saved in it. A way of getting your inventory back after death.

Hi I have a bug with minecolonies for 1.19.2. Whenever I try to place the "supply camp - free" I don't see any previews for placements. I tried removing Oculus as recommended from reddit but that didn't fix it either. Anyone know how to fix this?
I sometimes get a quarry instead of what I'm trying to place when I say "use the wand" I use the pulldown and select the thing I want to build. That usually fixes it.

That happened before. You have to find it's location and then delete it from the save with NBT editor and then it's fixed.

If you are going to start over, I'd remove the modpack and re-install it with GDLauncher. I think 1.18.2 is more stable, but 1.16.5 is more 'complete' with more mods.

I've been having some trouble fighting the ender dragon in my server that I'm hosting where after I shoot all the end crystals and the dragon flys down, there is MASSIVE server lag where it takes at least 15 seconds for me to eat food or fully charge an arrow? Has anyone else run into this issue and figured out a solution at all?
The server is running on a Ryzen 9 3950X with 16GB of RAM (MHz in unknown as it's a server I'm paying for), if that helps.

Darn, I had a feeling this was something involving the server, which I find odd because the moment I leave the End, the massive lag spike disappears entirely
You can use '#' to search for any text in the tooltip of the item in most storage text boxes
I know it works in simple storage

And the lag spike during my fight with the dragon occurred even when I was the only one in the server, and only like 10 chunks are loaded between the 6-7 of us that play at a time

One person was able to and the lag stopped once the dragon was dead

You could backup your options.txt and then unload all the resource packs except for vanilla, kill the dragon, then replace the options.txt.
In that case, I'll see what I can do with Spark and see what it can find when it profiles during my fight with the ender dragon

So I ran the Spark profiler to do some more diagnostics and troubleshooting. It turns out it's an issue with the Magnum Torch mod.
I ran two spark profilers to make sure just in case it wasn't a fluke, one with Magnum Torch installed (ending at about 7 TPS) and one with the mod removed from my server (ending with 18-20 TPS).
I have no idea how it could've caused the End specifically to start lagging, but removing it eliminated almost all of the lag spikes I was initially getting

Simple storage network
@tulip stream set your render and shadow distance to 8 chunks and look at the optimization guide in the better modpack channel.

Simple Storage Networks allow for infinitely expandable storage that can be accessed from any dimension, at any distance. To set one up, you'll first need a Network Root and Request Table. Try to keep this all in one chunk (viewed by pressing F3 + G) and do it somewhere with a good bit of vertical space. Place the Request Table above the Network Root. Generally, the simplest way to gets lots of storage is to make a tower of double chests from bedrock and then a tower of Link Cables which attach to the Network Root. When you run out of space, you will need to make more Link Cables, as one cable can only attach to one double chest. If you're playing a modpack with the Sophisticated Backpacks mod, you can use maxed backpacks instead of chests to conserve space. To access the Network from anywhere with a Crafting Remote, click the map icon at the top left of your inventory then click the next map icon in the same area. Here, you can click to claim a chunk (disabling creeper explosion damage) and then shift click to "Force Load" it. You can tell it's loaded when there's red lines going across the chunk. You can also put the Crafting Remote in a Curio slot (accessed by clicking the ring icon in your inventory) and then bind "Open Remote Curio" to a key of your choice for easier access.

Minecolonies takes time to set up, but its really nice once everything is to a certain point, like free enchant books

It should work, it also depends on where you summon it. If grass is under one of the side blocks then that can ruin the summon. You also can try updating the mod Bygone Nether because there have been problems with summoning the Wither with it sometimes. And yes, that is another Soul Stone. Faqs say that the mod is Bygone Nether.

Well since I need a lot of wood, I should do the builders hut then do the wood cutter
Builder->Town hall->forester->Miner->university->stone cutter->sawmill->etc...etc... maybe sprinkle some guard towers in there.
The trick is to do 2+ builders after you get the forester going. Then constantly upgrade the forester to max.
You'll need a tavern after Town hall, sorry.
Tavern houses 4 people and attracts higher stat people that you can hire for the town.
And houses for all of them.
This is why I like machines, easy to set up lol

Once you get the university and the foresters, miner, stone cutter, and saw mill, then it starts automating itself. You just teach it a few recipes.
Well it can do a lot more like they can use enchanted items and craft literally anything. You can can a group of guards that patrol or follow you around to fight for you.
So it's like... medieval city builder in minecraft

And of course the enchanter takes xp from the other townsfolk and makes books from raiders drop (which is automated if you have guards).

You can turn off all resource packs except vanilla, but backup your options.txt file first in the root directory of the pack.
Just disable them within the settings
Go to your video settings, click on the shaders pack tab in the top right, and then disable it

~Be warned shaders can take a while to unload
Click on the box at the top that says "shaders: enabled"
That will turn off shaders
