pluto what version of java did you have again? any modern version should support --version to show its version. yours does not. i suspect if you opened a command window and typed java -version with a single - instead of two -- it would display the version just fine
but this pack starts fine for me on both oracle 1.8 and eclipse temurin 11 so im pretty confused as well. even pushing it down to 4 gigs it boots. pretty weird

Hello everyone got a question, we updated our server from v7 to v11.5 and we have ran into 2 problems so farm. Some sounds are not working such as picking up items, pressure plates, Zombies and skeletons and finally the player hitting wooden objects. The other problem is for our gold farm above the nether in a nether waste biome, the Zombie Pigman are not tracking the Turtle eggs placed. Even right in front of them. Just wondering if anyone also has been having these problems?

Hey Guys, looking for assistance with my dedicated server im trying to start. I set it up and ran it, all my friends could join on computer 1 as a test, but after setting up the server all same settings on computer 2, I can join with the ipv4, but others cant connect. server boots normal, I can connect on computer 2 with localhost, all port forwarding and firewall work is done. I also tried completely turning off the firewall to see if that is the issue but no change. Does anybody have any insight on this? When server is ran on computer 1 the port shows as Open but when its ran on computer 2 the port shows as Closed.

but fyi if you wanted to run optifine (you dont) .. ||you must remove some other performance enhancers first, (for example magnesium just to mention one) which means you may lose some mods that rely on those as well. you may also need to run the optifine jar and extract the actual mod version from it. its a bit of a hassle and not worth it as tim said ruidium+oculus is a good alternative||

Basically, I learned that there are two types of mooblooms from 2 different mods.
The mooblooms ive been having is from "friends and foes", but ever since v11 (or 11.5), my livestock mooblooms stopped moving.
I checked out in creative that the ones that are working are from earth mobs. Will the earth mobs moobloom mod spawn the mooblooms in the same places as the friends and foes ones?

I spent 13USD on a server hosting service and with bettermc, it ran like garbage and crashed a lot. That is until installed a plugin, but the experience was mildly spoiled due to this.
Then gf found aternos and its like.... runs stronger and better than that paid one does.
I dont remmeber if the paid one i used ran 24/7 but aternos doesnt. if population is 0, it will shut down server in 6 or 7 minutes
sometimes, rarely, the TPS is bad but its in general fantastic for me
i just wish i could use a modpack AND plugins

In order to use OptiFine, follow the steps below:
For 1.16.5 Forge: Remove Magnesium and Dynamic Lights Reforged, add OptiFine HD U G8 to the mods folder.
For 1.18.2 Forge: 1.18.2 comes with Oculus that gives you Shaders with 90% less load times. If you want to use Optifine then remove the Oculus, Rubidium and Dynamic Lights Mods then add Latest 1.18.2 OptiFine to the mods folder.
Optifine Issues are not Supported in the Github however it shouldn't be an issue asking in the Discord for help.

It looks like its trying to run it with java 18. I have java 18 and 8 installed because i run a paper server on this pc which needs 18. Is there a way to tell set the server to specifically use 8 and not 18
