option 1: optifine, remove all 3 magnesium/dynamic lights related mods
option 2: rubidium AND oculus, remove same 3 as above

option 2 has much better performance and is much faster at starting up than optifine BUT some biomes with overgrown stone WILL BREAK (they will not render, and attempting to travel into them will crash your game, meaning you'll need to temporarily remove rubidium and oculus to get out of them)

option 1 isn't as performant but will let you traverse biomes with overgrown stone fine

IN GENERAL (not just BMC) rubidium + oculus will have much better performance than optifine, but the tradeoff is that it's still a little buggy with certain mod's blocks

In my experience, overgrown stone is the only issue caused by using rubidium + oculus in forge 1.16.5 bmc, and I can live with avoiding those biomes

optifine is a mod, as well as rubidium and oculus

if you already knew that then sorry I misinterpreted the way you're coming off, just making sure you're on the same page

anyways yeah use one of those two options and you'll start seeing much much better performance, just download and drop them into your mods folder and delete the 3 magnesium/dynamic lights mods and that's it

In order to use OptiFine, follow the steps below:
For 1.16.5 Forge: Remove Magnesium and Dynamic Lights Reforged, add OptiFine HD U G8 to the mods folder.
For 1.18.2 Forge: 1.18.2 comes with Oculus that gives you Shaders with 90% less load times. If you want to use Optifine then remove the Oculus, Rubidium and Dynamic Lights Mods then add Latest 1.18.2 OptiFine to the mods folder.

Optifine Issues are not Supported in the Github however it shouldn't be an issue asking in the Discord for help.

the only justification for recolored tools is if you're playing a pack where you literally start in that dimension (like some nether packs where you live in the nether)

In order to use OptiFine, follow the steps below:
For 1.16.5 Forge: Remove Magnesium and Dynamic Lights Reforged, add OptiFine HD U G8 to the mods folder.
For 1.18.2 Forge: 1.18.2 comes with Oculus that gives you Shaders with 90% less load times. If you want to use Optifine then remove the Oculus, Rubidium and Dynamic Lights Mods then add Latest 1.18.2 OptiFine to the mods folder.

Optifine Issues are not Supported in the Github however it shouldn't be an issue asking in the Discord for help.

there is two compatibility issues i hate of the 1.16.5 modpack

first, the goblin trader asks for the ore block, not the raw version from the backport

and meadow dirt

meadow dirt cant be used in recipes that have dirt

and some plants dont grow in meadow dirt

cuz its ont registered as dirt

im on the middle of a biome with meadow dirt and i have to travel like 100 blocks to go for dirt
